Friday Faves

TGIF for real this week you guys! On Tuesday afternoon it felt like I had already worked through Thursday, so you can imagine how "off" the rest of the week's felt. Definitely happy it's Friday and the weekend is right around the corner!
My faves this week are:

{1} New Essie color
I mentioned it yesterday, but this pretty Essie polish arrived at my house on Wednesday evening and I was super pumped! It's the perfect cranberry shade for the Fall! It's called Bahama Mama and is super similar to In the Lobby.

{2}My Husband's Home!
My husband got home last night from a work trip earlier than planned after being gone since Sunday. It's been so nice to have him home and to get to snuggle last night! Also, Mr. Wonderful had stopped at the Yankee Candle outlet when he was away and brought home a delicious candle scent (sugar and spice), picked out entirely on his own. It's the little things :) Our house will definitely be Fall-scent ready!

{3} Blate
Last night Christy and I had an awesome HH blate--we went back to Tupelo Honey (the scene of one of our previous lunch blates) and partook in some beverages and yummy small plates (pecan crusted goat cheese balls,  and warm pimento cheese--I was basically in cheese lover heaven!) We ended up staying there for 3 hours--time flies with good food, good drinks and a good friend--always a fantastic night!
Next time: a double blate with the husbands again!

{4} GIF Keyboard
If you haven't downloaded the GIF keyboard, just stop everything and go do it now. It is the best addition to texting (minus the middle finger which is supposed to be a new emoji)--I can't tell you how hard I've laughed with some of the text convos I've had lately.
(And speaking of gifs....)

{5} Funnies
because at the end of the week, sometimes you just need a laugh or two:
When you're attempting to make a schedule while also doing the rest of your job at a school
{via}
When your resume says that you're great at multi-tasking:
{via}
When you make a schedule that works for the 50 kids you see and then someone tells you about a new kid to add to the list:
{via} am I smiling yet???
Getting in your car to drive home at the end of a Friday

Happy Friday and happy weekend, loves! I hope you have a nice, relaxing, fun weekend to recover from the week!
Catch ya on Monday!

Friday Faves

Happy first day of May!!!
I feel like I should let out a "Thank you, Jesus" that it's finally Friday. This week has been looooooooong and full of multiple meetings for me (more than 6 this week!) Needless to say, I'm 110% ready for this weekend to get here!

But, before that, let's talk about some favorites!
Friday Favorites // Friday Favorites // Oh Hey Friday// 5 on Friday

{1}-Nice weather, zero gravity chairs and our deck
The weather this week has finally been super Spring-like and beautiful, so we've been enjoying it as much as possible. Grilling, eating dinner outside on the deck...I came home from work yesterday, grabbed a beer, and my Kindle, sat myself in our new zero gravity chairs and enjoyed the sunshine.
she is not pregnant in this pic haha

{2}-Baby Shower
My friend Jenn is having a baby shower tomorrow and I'm going to get to see the glowing mama-to-be, along with some of my old coworkers who I haven't seen in a long time! It'll be so nice to get to hang out with everyone and celebrate a new little baby!

{3}-Party party!
The same day as the shower, we have plans to go hang out with some friends to celebrate birthdays, cinco de mayo (early), the kentucky derby, and they're having the Pacquiao fight on, too. It should be a good time--Saturday is gonna be BUSY...but a good kinda busy!

{4}-Double Blate
Christy and I are having a double blate with our men tonight! The last time we got together, Holly was in town (we'll miss you girl!) and didn't get to spend a ton of time since MG and I had anniversary plans and the girls were running the 10miler the next morning. This time around, there will be plenty of time to relax and celebrate the end of a very long week, with some great company!

{5}-A year ago...
I was reminded (thanks to Facebook) that a year ago, yesterday, MG and I closed on our house. This place truly feels like home. I love all of the work that we've done, together, to make it ours. We've already made so many memories here, and I can only imagine there will be so many more to come!
It was a big step, for sure, and all happened so quickly, but it was the best decision we made, to buy this house and make it our home!

And in case you need an extra dose of cuteness today, take a look at the Kentucky Derby Puppy Predictions from Jimmy Fallon. So. Much. Cute!

Happy Friday and happy weekend!!!

Weekend Highlights

This weekend was absolutely everything--from the weather to the events, it was absolutely perfect!

My highlights this weekend included:

~Surviving my crazy parent meeting on Friday

~Celebrating with my coworkers with a after work drink

~Ordered dinner in and watched The Imitation Game with the hubs

~Attempted to go for a hike since the weather was so nice, but the line of cars to get in was outrageous, so no go

~Spent some time on our deck and took Cooper for a long walk

~Was over the moon excited when the Weekend of Girl Babies took place with THREE good blog friends giving birth to their beautiful baby girls over the weekend!!! (Congrats LynnJess and Jessi--so so so happy for you and your adorable little girls!)

~Made our way into DC and met up with Christy and Holly for a pre-dinner blate! (along with the boys)
Had such a fun time hanging out with these two and finally getting to meet Holly in person after so many years!

~MG and I made our way to our anniversary dinner at Grillfish where we had oysters, pecan crusted mahi-mahi and blackened swordfish, along with a delicious dessert and a bottle of wine--heaven!
(wore my wedding earrings and the bracelet MG gave me on our wedding day!)

~Cherry Blossoms in DC at night

~Exchanged gifts first thing in the morning--MG even researched the first anniversary "paper" gift and made sure, since his gift wasn't paper, that his card matched the wrapping paper, and that it was all in our wedding colors (purple and silver). That man...he's good.

~Chocolate chip pancakes made by the hubs for breakfast!

~Sunday morning errands

~Tried out Amanda's green drink recommendation--and it was delicious! Will definitely be making many more of these in the future!
(the flash went off which is why this looks neon green lol)
~Had my parents over to spend time together, and also got to celebrate the anniversary with them

~Watched our wedding video--so fun to re-watch and remember the whole day again

~Took a Pinterest-inspired 1st anniversary photo

~Cooked dinner together and then devoured our delicious anniversary cake!

~Snuggled on the couch and watched Game of Thrones before heading to bed for another work week!

All in all, it was a weekend full of so much exciting stuff like new babies, meeting blog friends, spending time with family, and getting to celebrate being married to my best friend for a year!
(thanks for taking such a good picture, Christy) ;)
1 year down, a lifetime to go! :)

I hope your weekend was spectacular, too!
