WHW {#94}

Happy Hump day! Boy do these days fly by when you have a newborn--I guess that makes sense when the day revolves around feeding, eating and sleeping (for the baby--and somehow fitting in all of the same for you, as well haha).
Around these parts, it's been a lot of baby (if you couldn't tell by my posts that are supremely baby-centered), but they've also involved a lot of tv watching since we're home, and semi-tied to baby currently.

Here's what I've been watching:

Catastrophe season 3--
{via}
have you seen this show? Are you a parent? If you haven't seen it, watch it--especially if you like sarcastic humor. Each season is only 6 episodes long which isn't enough, but it's a clever show and makes me laugh. The season ended on such a cliff hanger and now I have to wait forever for the next season!

Master of None
{via}
I love Aziz Ansari in general but I LOVE him in this show. I think it's a clever and cute show that makes you laugh. Another show that doesn't have enough episodes because I want to watch more and more. We tried to savor this and space them out, but ended up ripping through the second season in a matter of a few days. Highly recommend!

Southern Charm (the original)
This has been, and will likely continue to be, my guilty pleasure show. I love this cast of characters because they always give me something to chat about with my friends haha.
I said it before but I couldn't get into Savannah after the first episode. I forgot to record it on my DVR and I'm not upset about it.

RHONY
I almost gave up on this show a few seasons ago, but got sucked back in during a marathon and since then I've been on board. I enjoy their antics, but Ramona is a nut job and drives me a bit crazy.

Animal Kingdom
{via}
This one I happened to watch because MG was watching it while I was reading. I don't know if I'd recommend it--it's very dark and basically about a bunch of really messed up people within a family who do bad things and are just all around not nice people. I joked with MG that I felt dirty watching it lol.

Friday Night Lights
{via}
We'd always heard that this show was good, but for some reason never got into it. Well, thanks to maternity and paternity leave because we have torn through the first season (almost all the way) in the past couple of days and are obsessed. Can't wait to watch the rest--although it's going to be tougher when MG goes back to work since I won't be able to cheat watch while he's away.

Movies:

La La Land--
I actually liked it. It was better than I was thinking it would be, and made for a nice weekend afternoon movie. I found myself singing some of the songs to Ella later that day too :)

Hidden Figures--
Loved this movie! I loved learning about a piece of history that I had no idea about! MG and I were both fans of this one.

That's about it which seems like a lot, but when you spend a lot of time pumping and breast feeding, you have a lot of time to kill!

Before I go, I feel the need to add in a recent Ella pic because...well, just because :)
Snapchat is the most entertaining on baby faces--

Now it's your turn to link up with Jessi and I to share what's hap-"pinning" with you!

What's Hap-"Pinning" Wednesday {#58}

It's time for another edition of WHW, where you can share what's happening with you, stuff you're pinning, recipes...anything!

Reading ...
Lots of stuff, although now that I'm back at work, my days of being able to read for hours on end are over. Boo hiss! Right now I'm reading a book my mom gave to me called Stepdog by Nicole Galland. I'm only about a quarter of the way in and so far it's pretty good. Check out my post from yesterday for some of the other books that I've been reading!
{via}
Watching ...
All the Real Housewives (no surprise there), Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry (anyone else?? He's incredible and has me tearing up almost every episode), Teen Mom OG--I used to like Maci the best, but I'm sorry if you get pregnant three times "by accident" then you obviously haven't learned anything about what this show is supposed to be preaching. And lastly, Married At First Sight which I think has been the most disappointing and boring season yet. And I think the experts suck.
{via} BORING!!!!
Eating....
Pirate's Booty. The other weekend (not this past one, but the one before) I picked up a Costco sized bag of Pirate's Booty, and I'm ashamed to admit that there was only about a 1/4 of it left by this past weekend. That stuff is like crack! #givemethebooty

Looking forward to ...
Our friend's wedding this weekend. It's on a Sunday which is a bit of a pain (and out of town) but it's sure to be a LOT of fun! I'm pretty sure we're gonna need a weekend following this weekend of festivities and friends!

Wishing...
my friend Kelly a successful first day of Chemo today! This girl has been a true superhero to me since finding out she had breast cancer at the end of the school year. She has had nothing but the best, most positive attitude, and I know she is going to rock this too! On Monday, a bunch of us got together and surprised her at a local wine bar, wearing pink (well almost all of us) as a Chemo Kickoff to show our love and support for her. I think she was surprised as she teared up immediately upon seeing us :) Sending so much love to you, Kelly!
Enjoying ...
the last bits of watermelon season. Since we got a big guy locally the other weekend, I've been having a mid-morning snack of watermelon every day and I'm loving it!

Drinking...
Cucumber and lemon water that we've been making in our infuser pitcher. SO delicious and refreshing and better than just plain lemon water.

Loving....
working with Kindergarten students. First of all, they are SO tiny at the start of the year. And boy are they funny, rambunctious, and full of giggles!

Wanting ...

to have a week without parent meetings. I'll have at least 4 this week. It's the first FULL week of school and by the end of this week, I'll have had 5 meetings so far this school year, in 9 days. #justletmeseethekids

Wearing ...
dresses and anything else that keeps me cool since we're climbing back into the 90s this week! At least Sunday and Monday were less hot, and not humid, but I could really do with some consistent 80 degree, no humidity days.

Grateful For...
Comfy clothes, glasses and being able to relax and veg out at the end of a work day.

WHW {#55}: Currently

Hi friends--sorry for my absence. I've been keeping low key at home after some complications after my egg retrieval last week so I took a blog break. But I'm back today because it's Wednesday and you know what that means: time to talk about what's hap-"pinning"!

Reading ...
All the books! Ok, not all of them, but I've spent a lot of my last few days of Summer reading a bunch. Most recent was a recommendation from my friend Trish called The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes which has been awesome! That review, and ones from the others I've been reading coming soon!
{via}

Watching ...
Bachelor in Paradise (love that dramatic show), and RHOC. I have to admit, it was interesting seeing Meghan's IVF journey as it coincided a lot with my own (as it airs anyway). I will also say that Jim Edmonds' reaction (and lack of participation in ANY part of the process) on Monday night at Shannon's dinner when Meghan said she was hopefully carrying two babies, and he put a finger-gun to his head...was appalling. I wanted to crawl through the screen and smack him. This process is difficult to go through on every level. I can't imagine going through it virtually alone, and with an a-hole by my side. Ew, just ew.

Eating....

This weekend MG and I went out to dinner with a friend of ours and tried out a new restaurant near us. I had the MAXX burger which has their special sauce, some delicious pickles (something was different about them) and onion rings on top. When I tell you this burger was mouth-wateringly delicious, it's an understatement. SO good!
Looking forward to ...
Spending my last weekend of freedom at the beach house with MG and the fam. Give me my last dose of Vitamin D, Vitamin Sea, and Vitamin Beach :)

Wishing...
I could take Cooper and his little snuggly self back to work with me next week. I'm not sure how either of us will make it through the day without all of the cuddles!
Enjoying ...
the cooler weather we've been getting around here. And by cooler I mean the 80's and low to no humidity. I've spent two afternoons just reading on the deck in our zero gravity chairs, enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. It's perfection.
Drinking...
last week, it was ALLLLLL the Gatorade I could get in my body. After my egg retrieval I had some mild-moderate symptoms of hyper stimulation which caused a lot of fluid build up in my stomach area. I was so bloated that the skin around my stomach was stretched and hurt, and it hurt for me to walk. Luckily the symptoms subsided into the weekend with my Gatorade and protein attack, but it was not a pleasant time.

Loving....
all of my friends for checking in on me with every step of our IVF process. And the friends who noticed my absence and sent me messages checking to make sure that I was ok! I've said it a million times and I'll say it again...I wouldn't have been able to get through this without the support of friends and family.

Wanting ...

lots of positivity in the coming weeks!

Wearing ...
I'll show you my cool-kid outfit pre-egg retrieval last week. I've decided that blue hair caps are the new thing, and will be sporting mine all the time ;)

Grateful For...
signs from my dad that he's around. It's been a while since I've really felt the pull that it's him, but when I was on the deck on Monday, I stopped reading and looked up at the sky and started thinking about my dad. When I looked away and looked back, there was a solid heart shape in the clouds. I tried getting a picture of it, but it started to dissipate by the time I unlocked my phone.
Following that was another cloud that legit looked like an angel. Perhaps it was my imagination, but I truly feel like it was my dad's way of letting me know he's here and looking over me.

Now it's your turn to share what's hap-"pinning" with you! Remember, it can be about anything, it doesn't have to be from Pinterest!

Weekly Faves

It's Friday and it's the last one of July--seriously where is the Summer going? It's been a bit since I've posted some of my favorites so here we go!

{1} Massage and Haircut
I got my hair cut and a color touch up yesterday. I loooooove my hairstylist and she  even did my color for free which was an awesome surprise! She made me look awesome ;)
ok, even without the filter, it's still a good cut :)
I had a massage scheduled for last Friday but my masseuse got sick and cancelled so it's been rescheduled for this afternoon which I'm over the moon excited about!

{2} Recent Read
{via}
Thanks to Christy, I got The Light Between Oceans to read. I wanted to dive into it as soon as I finished my previous book. It was a bit slow to get into but once the story picked up I was engrossed in it, even having dreams about it at night. Needless to say, I finished it in 3 days! Definitely recommend it! (Also, it's coming out in a movie soon so check out the book before then!)

{3} New Show Addiction
{via}
Since I've been home, and am doing my best not to spend a ton of money, I've been catching up on some tv, and discovered the show Famously Single which features some celebs I was familiar with (Paulie D, Brandy, Josh Murray from Bachelorette and Aubrey O'Day). I thought it was going to be trashy, but it actually wasn't. I found it interesting to watch and ended up not hating Brandy like I did on RHOBH. It ends next week, but you can still catch the episodes On Demand.

{4} IVF and the love and support of you all
Yep, IVF is a favorite this week. There's a sentence I never thought I'd say, but dammit, I've reached a point where I'm excited, anxious (and a little nervous) to get this IVF started. My shots start next week and I'm ready to get this show on the road. After trying to so long, we're more than ready for a baby to enter our lives and it feels like it's within reach. I'm so appreciative of all of your love and support--the comments, the private messages, the snaps...all of the support has done a ton to get me pumped and ready to get this part of our journey under way. So, thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Putting my story out here is scary sometimes since I know there are people out there who are naysayers and negative nancy's, and use other people's stories as fodder for their own conversations, but the positive things that come out of the amazing people out there FAR outweigh the negative.  I'm not sure I would be where I am mentally or emotionally had it not been for the support from this community and I'll be forever grateful for you all.

{5} Some Funnies, after that serious note...
How I (and my friends) reacted seeing my IVF meds unpacked on the kitchen table

When MG comes home from work and I'm in the same spot on the couch I was when he left for work

Friday Faves

Happy Friday friends!!! It's been a gorgeous week which has just made me want to play hooky from work and dilly dally around outside all day long, but alas, I had to put on my adult pants and actually go to work--luckily today is a teacher workday so hopefully I can write my progress reports from my laptop while outside! :)
But now it's the weekend (almost) and time to play!
First, let's talk about some faves from this week!
{1} Summer Travel
We've started making plans for some summer travel and trips. We already have at least one week at the shore with MG's family, and this week we booked a house on a lake for a long weekend to surprise MG's dad for his 70th birthday! The house looks INSANE and we have it for 4 nights this summer. I can't wait until we surprise him with the plans in June and then get to celebrate all together at this beautiful house on the lake!
Plus, there's another pretty major dream trip in the works for MG and I....more on that soon hopefully!

{2} Beach Body On Demand
{via}
You guys have heard me talk about my love of various Beach Body programs on here like Cize and Piyo. Cize is by far the biggest workout love of my life--it's SO much fun, I never feel like it's work, and I always end up panting and sweating by the end! Well, I jumped on the BOD train which gave me access to other BeachBody programs like P90X, T25, and bonus Cize workouts (which was the part I was most excited about). I've loved it! I look forward to getting home and doing one of the Cize routines.  I have the free 30 day trial going now, but after that it's like $12 a month. Yes please!
I'll do a full review of Cize soon, since I love it so much.

{3} Favorite Recipe
This week MG and I tried baked crab stuffed salsa avocados for dinner as a healthier meal option and oh my word were they delicious! We had them with a side of roasted balsamic brussel sprouts and it was amazing!! Definitely a great lighter meal for the warmer months and will totally be being made again! Recipe coming soon, but teaser picture here:

{4} Show
Have you guys heard of the show Catastrophe on Amazon? My friend told me about it the other week and MG and I started watching it this past weekend and are almost done with the second season (each season is only 6 episodes, 25 minutes each). It's kind of crude at certain points, but some of the dialogue is really funny and has us laughing a lot. If you're looking for a new show, check it out. The main guy is definitely my favorite.
Check out this interview with the two of them to get a better idea of what I'm talking about.

{5} Funnies
When you see people in public doing this, you know Snapchat added new filters:
What I want to say when someone goes on and on in a conversation about the same thing over and over and you just want to stop talking to them
{via}
When you have a rough day at work dealing with tough parents/lazy coworkers
{via}
How bloggers feel when they try new make up products

That's it for me today! Me and this chick hope you all have an easy day and a fantastic weekend!

What's Hap-"Pinning" Wednesday {#36}

Happy hump-day peeps! Since it's Wednesday, you know what time it is!
Link up with Jessi and I and share what's hap-"pinning" with you!
It's been a while since I've done a currently post, so I thought today would be a good day for one!

Currently I'm.....
Reading ...
I'm in between two books right now. One is called When God Doesn't Fix It, which was a recommendation from Owen. The other one I literally just read the first chapter of which was called A Man Called Ove.
Listening to...
still listening to the Hamilton soundtrack. It is absolutely incredible. I listen to it on my drive home from work, and on the weekends when I'm out running errands. The lyrics are so smart, and the music is catchy. Definitely check it out if you haven't already (and if you have Prime, you can stream the entire album for free!!)
{via}
Watching ...
Bravo shows! I begrudgingly watched Shahs of Sunset on Sunday mainly because nothing else was on, which is about the only time I watch the show.
Southern Charm was ok this week but was lacking in the drama department, and next week doesn't look too dramatic either. #boo
{via}
And I watched the premiere of Real Housewives of Dallas. Now, if the word of the season for Real Housewives of Potomac was "etiquette", the word for this season is "Jesus Juice". I think they said it AT LEAST 15 times within 4 minutes last night. And that was just the first 15 minutes or so. If you had to drink every time they said 'Jesus Juice' I would have been drunk in no time (probably from said Jesus Juice--oh no, now they have ME saying it!) Not sure how I feel about this season yet, but I haven't fully given up on them like I did on RHOP after the first episode.

Cooking...

I made roasted buffalo cauliflower bites on Monday for the first time! I've seen them around Pinterest for a while, and my bestie raves about them, so I figured while MG was away to try them. They were really good! I put them over a salad and added some blue cheese dressing--SO YUM!

Looking forward to ...
MG coming home on Friday, and getting to celebrate our anniversary!

Wishing...
that Zika didn't ruin our Aruba trip. But, since we made the official decision, the news that keeps coming out about it just makes it clear that we made the right decision. Still stinks though #gimmethebeach

Enjoying ...
talking about plans for what we will do with the airline voucher we got for cancelling. At the top of our list right now is a trip to Spain! I've wanted to go for a looooong time, and as long as those pesky mosquitoes don't make their way there, it's on the table! Just need to figure out a good time for it.
{via} Seville, Spain
Loving....
my friends. And specifically this week, my friends from work who took me out to dinner on mine and MG's actual anniversary last night so that I wouldn't be alone on our anniversary. Love them!

Eating....
these delicious chocolate muffins my friend made for me with zucchini!! They may sound funny but they are freaking delicious!!! And she said they're healthy, which makes me feel less bad when I'm stuffing my face with them every morning :)
there are two missing in this photo because they're in my stomach :)

Wanting ...
our HOA to hurry the hell up and approve our windows so we can get them ordered (wait 3 weeks for them to be made) and get them installed before it's hot as balls outside. I don't understand what the hold up is.
Wearing ...
back and forth between warm weather and cold weather stuff. Luckily it's supposed to at least be in the 60s or warmer the rest of this week. I hope it means that Winter has finally decided to go home and sleep it off! Maybe I can finally put my Winter coat away for good...this time!

Thankful...
that our taxes are done, we got a pretty good refund (after thinking we might not get anything back) and it's already been deposited into our account! Whoop!

Now it's your turn to link up and share what's hap-"pinning" with you. Remember, it can be anything, it doesn't have to be Pinterest-related!
