Wow, how is it Monday already? I feel like the weekend flew by--which was probably due, in part, to the fact that I was utterly exhausted after the first week of school, the amount of things we did this weekend, and weekends always feeling super short! But, it was a fun weekend nonetheless!
On Friday, a bunch of people from work met up for an after-work get together to celebrate making it through the first week of school with kids, and to get to know each other better since there are a lot of new staff at my school this year. I found out that a lot of people that I work with live really close to where I do(which has not always been the case where I've worked), which was super exciting! After hanging out and talking to people more than I got the chance to at work, I'm really excited about this place. Everyone seemed really friendly and open which was a great change of pace for me.
After the get together, I headed home and MG and I ordered pizza and had some quality time with the couch. At 9:30 we were already in bed. Lame, I know, but it was SO nice, and very much needed!
Saturday we took advantage of one of the last few days at the pool since the weather was so nice out. I was glad to get one final day of soaking in the sunshine before the pool at our place closed this weekend. After some errands, avoiding tornado warnings and an insanely strong storm, we headed out to celebrate a friend's birthday at World of Beer in Arlington.
It was an ok place--a little small and crowded, and they ONLY had beer. It was cool to go to once, but I don't think we'll be going back there again. At least the bday girl had a good time, and that's all that mattered!
On Sunday, MG and I got up and took Cooper for a long walk since it was absolutely GORGEOUS weather outside (mid 70's, sunny, no humidity) and then went to meet up with friends to watch football. And what a day it was! Watching my Redskins FINALLY look like a professional football team was amazing! I had my doubts about RG3 (since the Skins always seem to hype something and then it falls to pieces), but I was impressed with his performance. And, let's be real, it's been a LONG time since the score next to the Skins was a 40! MG was happy cuz his Eagles pulled out a win at the last second, so the two of us had a good start to the football season!
I went home and celebrated the win by buying a Coach purse online. Ok, that wasn't the actual reason....it was more that I saw it when I was out and wanted it (isnt that a good enough reason?) :)
Isn't she pretty?
And now, I'm back to another week of school, BUT I tackled my dreaded schedule dilemma last Friday. Now, we'll see just how many mistakes are in it, and which teachers tell me that I can't take their kids during the time that I want to take them! Fingers crossed!!!
Have a happy Monday!
I love that the Red Skins beat the Saints...I think they're going to have a great year!
ReplyDeleteI went to World of Beer on Labor Day. It was fun for an afternoon drink but it doesn't seem like it'd be a fun place to go out at night. I can imagine it gets waaaay too crowded.
I would think that a place called "World of Beer" would be a lot better than it sounds! Which is disappointing, I'm sorry :( But I'm glad you had a good weekend, and I'm glad you got your Coach bag! It really is beautiful ;)

ReplyDeleteLooks like the weekend was a good one...
ReplyDeleteHow did you order a purse online and get it so fast?!!?
Cute purse!
ReplyDeleteWe were also football happy as the Jets pulled out a big W over the Bills!
The beer place sounds like fun!
