Things I'm Thankful For

It's nearing the end of the week, and after spending some time with a friend of mine who recently broke up with her boyfriend of 3 years, along with some other "happenings", I just wanted to take a second and reflect on some things that I'm thankful for:

I missed the "wear blue" memo here...lol
~having my parents close enough that if/when I need them, they are only a short drive away~
~marrying into an amazing family who love and accept me as if I've been a part of their family since day one. Having an extra set of people to lean on is amazing. Having sisters to call and get advice from and be there for, is so nice, and a new one for this only child :)~

~having friends who I can call in a moment of need, or who call me when they read my blog and see that something might be "up" with me; and having friends who I can be totally silly and stupid with and they still love me (maybe even moreso because I was silly or stupid but that's a different story:)~

~having a loving fiance who gives me no reason to have any of the doubts, worries or fears that I've had in my past relationships; feeling loved for who I am~

~having the cutest most adorable pup in the world, who is full of excitement, wiggles and love. He's healthy (no seizures in well over a year thanks to some miraculous herbal remedy--yay!) and happy and loving. There's not a person Cooper meets who doesn't immediately smile and love him~

~having a job that I enjoy. There are moments, yes, that I don't like, but I really like the people that I work with, and my supervisor who I work under~

~being able to "let go"....it's something I'm still working on, but it's a lesson I'm learning and working on so that I can be a better me~

Ahhh, I feel all warm and fuzzy now! :)
What are the things you're thankful for in your life? Take a second and think about it--it's so easy to get overwhelmed and consumed with the negative.

  1. What a great post! It's good to stop and reflect on all we should be thankful for from time to time...it really puts things into perspective!

    I'm thankful for:
    A family that sticks together.
    A dog that loves me.
    A boyfriend that loves me.
    A job that stretches me.
    A friend that challenges me.

  3. Such a lovely list!
I am thankful for the roof over our head, a husband to share my life with, friends who love and support me and a job (especially in a country where so many have no roof and no job)
