Weekend Highlights

Although this is a long weekend, all the Monday link ups happen today so I'll let you know what I've been up to so far this weekend--it was a delicious one!

This weekend's highlights (so far) include:

-Friday night date night with MG

-Running into friends at the restaurant we were at

-Costco run for Cooper's medicine...ending up stocking up on a ton of stuff--it's like going into Target for one thing and leaving with 30 (you'll be happy to know we have enough toilet paper and paper towels to last us through a zombie apocalypse now lol)

-Sanding, cleaning and painting the trim in our upstairs hallway (It doesn't look that different, but that's 4+ hours worth of work)

-Dinner at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants (we've been here 3 times and each time we've been seated in the same booth, even after a 20 minute wait yesterday!)

-Stuffed ourselves silly on all the amazingly delicious food

-Tried to keep MG awake after the food coma and jet lag he was fighting

-a rainy Sunday morning, which allowed us to.....

-Got our one year anniversary trip booked! Going back to Punta Cana which was the first vacation that MG and I ever took together--just at a different resort. Full circle!

Can not wait to get away here with my husband and celebrate our first wedding anniversary somewhere different (and tropical) than just at home! Makes it extra special!!

-Sunday brunch with friends--endless food and penny mimosas!

-Snuggling with this guy (who snuggled himself into three blankets on the couch)
Doesn't he look cozy for a rainy day?? :)

-Some reading and Pinterest-ing

-Prepping to paint the hallway doors (since they, like the trim, were off-white...the previous owners were idiots)

-Worked out after all the super delish foods we gorged on this weekend!

-Watched Downton with the hubs, and tried out Togetherness. Still not sure about that one.

-Slept in this morning!

I think MG is finally back on US time instead of China time, thankfully. We got a lot done this weekend but also had a lot of yummy food and some quality time which was much needed after his trip!
Hope your weekend was great, too!

  3. I'm so jealous of your amazing trip! That is going to be awesome!!! Our last anniversary trip was for our one year - on our two year, I was 35 weeks pregnant and had Caleb less than 2 weeks later. On our three year, B graduated med school. And this year, on our 4 year, I will be about 40 weeks pregnant (or have a newborn). So, I have big expectations for our 5 year next year, lol!

The trim may not look too different in photos, but I can totally understand what a HUGE difference white trim makes in person. Cream/off white trim just never looks clean and bright. We re-did a lot of our trim, and I loved the result so much! I couldn't stand it before! It's a lot of work though! So glad you and MG were able to enjoy a fun weekend together. Any weekend involving margaritas and penny mimosas sounds like a good one to me:)

  5. I am SO jealous of your anniversary trip. I booked ours the day we got back from Mexico. We're heading to Charleston for a few days and I'm resisting the urge to start planning dinners! :) Coop is a cutie! And, I know what you mean... our previous owners were morons and made terrible choices! And all that Mexican food! Guess what I'll be having for lunch! :) xo

Can I go on your anniversary trip? I didn't win president's club this year so no fancy trip for me. and boy do I need one!
