Getting back from vacation and facing the real world again is tough. Especially when your vacation was incredible--it just makes you want to stay longer and never leave.
I've compiled a list of the top 10 post-vacation first world problems we face when getting back to reality.
*This post is totally meant in jest and in no way serious. I know there are lots of other real problems out there. This is just meant for a laugh*

When I put the sign on my door that says "Clean", when I get back home, no maid has come to my house to clean my room and provide fresh towels for me like they did on vacation.

I actually have to make my own meals. Every. Single. One.
No private chef here. Wtf.

Speaking of things I have to do myself--my laundry (not that I had that done on vacation, but I also had enough clothes with me, planned out, that I didn't have to think about laundry)

The need for sunscreen seems to be less and less relevant when I'm wearing pants instead of shorts and swim suits.

I have to wake up to an alarm, rather than to the sun shining through my window and the ocean beneath my balcony. It's amazing how we accomplish this every day of the year that we're not on vacation.

Getting dressed up for dinner isn't nearly as fun when your dinner destination is your own kitchen and not a new fancy restaurant on your resort that you haven't tried yet.

Having to drive myself around after only walking or being driven places for a solid week. Where's my driver, and tour guide??
{8}
There's no scheduled entertainment for the night.
TV Guide doesn't count.
{9}
There's no one who comes around during the day asking if I want to order a drink.
(Boy would that make work better if that was the case...)
{10}
My every day work attire doesn't consist of a bikini, cover up, flip flops and sunglasses.
It really really should.
First world problems....I tell ya :)

I agree with this all too much right now!!! Specifically the alarm part - woof that is the worst!!! So happy you're back! xo, Biana - BlovedBoston
ReplyDeletehaha that was a good laugh. And so true!! Laundry is evil. You spend the whole day doing loads on top of loads and at night there's already a new pile forming for next's week laundry journey! What!?!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed it! I'm dying for some quiet time, sunshine and warmer weather.
Ugh, having to go back to cooking is the worst! Wait no, the waking up is the worst! Actually, these are all great haha! Hope your adjusting back well!
ReplyDeleteMan, how amazing would life be if all we had to do every day was put a sign on the door to have our house cleaned and have a private chef - I think those two would be the biggest things I would appreciate, lol. Cooking and cleaning are my sworn enemies right now. I could also really go for having people walk around all day serving drinks. Definitely wouldn't mind that:) Alas, I guess if we had that all the time, vacations wouldn't be so special;)
ReplyDeleteHaha this is great.... I like how when your on vacation the biggest decision is to sit on the beach or by the pool first....
ReplyDeleteHaha I love this! So many first world problems. Although I'm not going to lie, I would gladly deal with all of these problems if it meant I was going on a vacation! Since I haven't been on one since last July I'm definitely itching to go somewhere! Ugh laundry. Don't even get me started on that beast! Hope this week hasn't been too rough for you!

ReplyDeleteHahaha all this post makes me want to do is take a big all inclusive trip. No laundry? Nice dinners cooked for me? Sign me up!
ReplyDeleteThis is hysterical! The post-vaca struggle is totally a real thing.
ReplyDeleteThe vacation hangover is the worst! this post is too cute! Hope reality is being kind :)
ReplyDeleteLol. Love. I want a clean/dirty sign and a pool boy to bring me drinks.
ReplyDeleteUghhh the struggle is real! I went through this a few weeks ago, and it takes several days to get accustomed to every day life again :-P
ReplyDeleteI definitely get the vacation blues when returning home from vacation. It's hard to readjust to everyday life after being in paradise.
ReplyDeleteWhile Arizona isn't exactly the same as paradise, I felt your pain a LOT when I got back last month, and I still feel it!!! Blahhhh to regular life. Let's all go on vacay ;) I'm glad you had a good time!!!
ReplyDeleteThis was so funny! Its so true though! After a vacation, I feel like need another one just to recover and adjust back to the usual.
ReplyDeleteThese are all so true. Coming back to real life sucks!
