Owning It

I guest posted for Christina last week and did an Owning It post there, and since she's hosting a link up for it, I thought I'd add on to my list. You can see my original list here.
Whenever I use the oven, I feel like I'm gonna burn myself.
I don't even know why since this has never happened, but I especially "worry" when I'm taking out a big casserole or something else that's heavy and I can't help but visualize dropping it on myself, or something/someone else.

I'm a morning person.
I have a hard time sleeping in anymore (I'll blame that on Cooper haha). But, I'd rather wake up early and be done with something sooner than have to stay late getting it finished.

When I know that someone is fake, trying to be something they're not, or lying about something, it's hard for me not to make others try to see what's really going on.
I've been working on not responding to lies and people who like to create drama for no reason, because it's not worth my time. And I've found that people tend to see the real person without me saying a word.

The only marathon I'll probably ever participate in is one on Bravo.
As much as I'd love to be able to say that I ran a marathon, I just don't see myself ever doing it. Bravo marathons on the couch are much more up my alley.

Paper straws gross me out.
They're super cute and a great decoration. But, putting my lips on a paper product...ew. No thank you.
I just got goose bumps thinking about it.

I get anxiety (ok, not real anxiety) over parking sometimes.
Sounds weird right? But I always think about what the parking is like around places that I go. I think this "anxiety" has been engrained in me since living in an area where parking is super annoying. When MG and I lived in our condo, parking on the street was a nightmare, so I was always thinking about it then too. (He makes fun of me all the time about this, too :) In my book, driving around endlessly and aimlessly searching for a parking space stinks.

That's probably (in part) because I hate being late.
I'm usually the person who arrives 5 minutes early somewhere. And the closer it gets to "on time" the more my heart rate increases. I really don't like it when people are late either, especially when you're meeting up in public, because then I'm sitting around looking like a loser for even longer ;)

I like puns, play on words, and other funnies.
I like to laugh (who doesn't?) and language is kind of a huge part of my career, so it makes sense. I enjoy a corny joke every now and then. I enjoy the groan you get from a particularly silly/dumb pun...that's fun :)
And on that note, I leave you with this, on the last day of April:

Thanks for letting me "own it" again Christina!

  1. Haha i forgot to mention the "late" thing in mine. THere's just too many! But yes, if I'm approaching "on time" anywhere, I'm late! I must be about 15 minutes early!!

  2. This post just makes me <3 you even more! Paper straws so cute but yes it sends a chill up on back its like things on sticks as well! When I moved back to FL and didn't have to worry about that anxiety provoking feeling of being able to find a parking spot like seriously when you live in a city that is a totally legitimate feeling! Loved this one girl!

  4. OK – So I mentioned on the original owning it post that we’re soul sister…. And I seriously can’t believe my eyes reading this post. Lol – The oven thing is something I think about all the time. I feel like sometimes I’m going to forget a pot holder and grab something out of the hot oven. I’m with you on paper straws, they make my absolutely cringe, and I’ve actually said the words “The only marathon I’ll ever participate in is on Netflix” haha. I also hate people late. Especially when other people cause me to be late to something. Love it!

  5. HA! Same about the oven – I’m always asking Derek to take pans out for me! I used to be so NOT a morning person but for the past half a year or so, mornings are my time! Nights, not so much anymore haha. We can sit on the couch and have a bravo marathon together because you will not find me out running unfortunately!

  6. I'm loving these posts! I'm with you on the being late thing - if I'm on time for an appointment, I'm basically freaking out that I'm late. And, I hate parking, too!

  7. I sometimes wish I could be a runner. The races and celebrating looks like so much fun. And you get a medal. BUT, the running part? Nope.

  8. Loved this post! As I've said before, we have so much in common!

  9. I don't even know why I bother setting my alarm for 6:30 anymore since I wake up on my own before then EVERY morning! Once this next baby arrives though, no more alarms for a few months! I'll be soaking up the precious sleep as much as possible until we find our new routine with the new baby, ha!
I love these types of posts, it's so fun getting to know you better!!

  10. The JT gifs this time of year always bring a smile to my face! And I envy that you're a morning person, as much as I've tried it's just something that'll never happen for me :-P

  11. Haha, that JT gif!!! Hilarious! And girlfriend, I am right there with you - there will be no marathon running for me. Nope. I may attempt a 5k one day, but that would be as ambitious as I get:)

  12. Oh my gosh I always think the same thing when I'm opening/closing and taking things in/out of the oven but never really thought about it until now! As I've gotten older I've definitely become a morning person. If I sleep past 8:30 I feel like I'm sleeping in. Mornings are my favorite.

  13. Amen to a Bravo marathon! And waking up early because of our pups. I need to start doing this once a month! Love how real you are and have always been. I think its one of the reasons I love you so much.

  14. OMG girl, we have so much in common! I have a fear of burning myself on the oven too and I've NEVER done it before. No idea where that fear came from LOL! And I'm definitely a morning person. I hate staying late. And I'm always early too haha. I usually will get wherever I'm supposed to be like 15 mins early and just sit in my car until it's time to go in...whoops!

  16. So many laughs from the Bravo/Marathon eCard! I've run several 5/10k's, but hours... literally HOURS of running, no thank you!

  17. Hahaha yes it's gonna be MAY! I posted that too! So funny about the paper straws! I'm ok with them but hate when they get all mushy from the liquid.

  18. I have enjoyed both of your "Owning it" posts! I hate street parking and being late. Whenever I use the oven I'm afraid my hair is going to catch on fire, even though it's short:)

  19. Amen to that pajama meme. Paper straws gross me out too- just thinking about it makes me sick!

  21. my version of "sleeping in" is sleeping until 6am. i physically can't sleep later than that (wish i could!). as for the drama-starters - bitches be cray. i know a girl who does this and it's so annoying so i just let her be. everyone knows what's up but she thinks she's all slick about it. it's actually quite funny to see her go on like that meanwhile everyone else is looking around like "wtf?!"
    have a good weekend!

  22. Hi! I found your blog through this link up (that I love BTW) and I am always on my husband's case about us being late for things. I am always 15 minutes early and he is always 5 minutes late. Whenever we stroll into an event, dinner reservation or other event on his side of the clock, I am mortified!

  23. Love this post! I agree, I am now a morning person thanks to Tenley! I love paper straws as a decoration too but actually using them gives me goosebumps! Xo, Stephanie

  24. I'm definitely more of a morning person now. I am usually up by 8am on weekends if I have something to do, no matter what time it's at, unless I seriously need to sleep in....and then it's like 8:30 :-P But I love getting up early and starting to day off great!! Love this list....I may have to do something like this haha
