Weekend Highlights

I'm back after another jam-packed weekend full of all kinds of fun, friends, celebrations and productivity around the house! Plus, some of our nicest weather days yet!

This weekend's highlights included:

~Friday double-blate in Clarendon with Christy and her husband (The Pilot)
~several hours of drinks, food and laughs

~Getting quotes from painters (for some of the rooms left in our house) and flooring

~Picked out the flooring for the basement and decided to paint it ourselves--painters were way too expensive, and we can paint it...it's just going to be a decent amount of work
(I think we could be professional painters by the end of this lol)

~Beautiful weather! Wore shorts, t-shirt and flip flops--finally!!

~A husband who took care of yard work and power washing our deck and fencing while I was out

~Going back to Maryland for a baby shower for my friend Jenn
and getting to see a bunch of coworkers from the first school I worked at
~Reconnecting with an old friend I haven't seen in several years
~Making plans to hang out again in the coming weeks

~Home and a quick turn-around to go back out for a party with friends: the Derby, Cinco De Mayo, birthday celebrations, and the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, plus food, drinks and a fire pit at night!

~Being a bad blogger and forgetting to take a single photo the entire night

~Picked out paint colors for the basement and guest bathroom
(here's the swatch we painted on the wall next to the granite we picked for the counter top)
It's called Quiet Moments--I think it's gonna look awesome!

~Taped off the guest bedroom in the basement and painted the ceiling; started taping off the basement so we can paint once we rip up the baseboards

~Reading on the deck in our zero gravity chairs--felt good to get some sunshine on my fading tan! :)
this is never going to get old!
~Taco night at home

~Relaxed the rest of the night after our day of home improvement projects

I'm so glad that we had a beautiful weather weekend with open doors in the house, open windows and sunroof in the car, and lots of sunshine!

We had a good mix of fun and being productive this weekend and now I'm ready to take on the work week!
Linking up with these pretties today:

  4. Sounds like a busy, busy weekend. I don't know how you manage to fit so much in it. I feel like I get 2 things done at the most and bam: weekend's gone.

  5. That's exactly how I felt as well this weekend girl. So many things going on and I wanted to stop and take pictures and then I was like you know what why don't you just enjoy this moment instead of always feeling the need to document it. It was pretty eye opening :-) Yeah for good husbands who work while you are away! That must have been the best feeling to come home to! Glad you got some reading in while enjoying that beautiful weather!

  11. Gosh! What a fun weekend, lady! Painting will be fun… maybe? Ha, I’m sure you guys will have a great time and do a great job with it as well as the other home improvements. This weather makes me so happy – wasn’t it the best wearing spring stuff?! The baby shower, fight and cinco de mayo all sound great – sometimes we just have to be in the moment and enjoy – I was so bad at pictures this weekend too, oh well! Taco night and that last picture outdoors are of course my favorite!

  17. once you and mg are real pros at painting you can come over and do my place. don't worry tho. my walls are teeny tiny so it wont take much effort. I haven't painted anything but maybe once when I was a kid at once of my dad's houses. I have not clue (or desire). I just hate the paint I have now.
