Weekend Highlights

Despite some pretty terrible weather, this weekend was pretty great. Unfortunately I'm officially back to work on Tuesday this week, but I have to go in today to "strategize" with my boss about meeting with a parent tomorrow morning. So, my last day off kinda went out the window. Oh well...

This weekend's highlights included:

~A massage on Friday which was heavenly

~Spent time with my friend at her place. Sangria may have been involved.

~Enjoyed a monumental day in our country's history:

~Date night with MG with this deliciousness:

~Finished Orange is the New Black

~Early Saturday drive to IKEA, in the crummy, rainy weather
~Bought a new duvet for the guest bedroom downstairs, and a tv console for the basement
Still need some accent pillows, but we're getting there!
~Put together the console (aka, provided emotional support while MG did it :)

~Went to our friends' house for a big group get together/cookout. Ended up staying there till 11 at night.

~Sunday errands; picked up some pretty ceramic citronella holders for the deck
We also bought a new toilet for the guest bathroom--so there's a toilet, in a box, sitting in our dining room currently. Nothing says sexy more than that ;)

~Finished doing touch ups and painting the ceiling in our guest bathroom (which should be finished this week since our vanity and countertop are finally in!)

~Made a delicious turkey wrap and ate lunch with MG on our deck, al fresco since the weather was so nice (which was a nice change after the icky mega rainy day before)

~Saw Jurassic World (Chris Pratt just gets hotter and hotter...oh, and the movie was good too ;)

{via} He could sic his velociraptors on me any day ;)
~Had yummy Noodles for dinner and relaxed with the hubs and Coop for the night

I hope your weekend was fun, and you didn't get hit with the storm on Saturday!

  2. My sister said it was pretty gross up there on Sunday boooooo. However you did get some home improvements done and I definitely cracked up over your toilet in the dining room note. The joys of homeownership right? We wanted to get sushi after the parade on saturday night but it was a little too late and now I am totally craving it!

  5. I'm glad that you had a good weekend despite the bad weather! It looks like your IKEA trip was successful - don't worry, I usually just provide support to Ryan, too while he puts everything together. Ha! We saw Jurassic World last Wednesday as a midweek date night - Chris Pratt is seriously in my top five of dream men. I thought the movie was kind of hokey (not nearly as scary as the first one), but the fact that I could just sit and look at him for a couple hours was a-okay by me. Happy Monday (and Bachelorette night!)

  8. Glad that the massage was fabulous! Jealous that you finished OISNB – I’ve been meaning to finish season two to be able to start the new season for weeks now. We got caught up in house stuff this weekend too – I guess one plus of the rain but the new tv stand looks great!

  9. Such a bummer you'r having to deal with school stuff during your summer break. I would be so irritated if I were you! Hopefully this will be the end of it though! I want to see Jurassic World so bad and everyone's either already seen it or has no desire to see it. I'm thinking I'll just have to go see it alone. Which is a ok with me! :)

Glad you had a great weekend!

  10. Ugh I hate those last days of vacation when it becomes a work day, ick. But it sounds like you had a wonderful vacation :) My husband is really into orange is the new black, but I haven't watched an episode yet.
