Oh my gosh, this past weekend was perfect--it had equal parts of everything a weekend should have! And, the weather was beautiful this weekend, which was a nice change after our chillier, rainy days of last week.
My weekend highlights included:
~Friday after school End of the Year party at my principal's house, complete with her home-made margaritas (so good!) and some of my favorite coworker friends
~Dinner at our friend's place, including wine, grilled pizza and my first taste of Hell Or High Watermelon beer for the season
~Taking down the Broadway lighting in the guest bath, patching holes, and taping off and painting the room.
(the color is similar to the one on the inspiration photo, but we don't have a light installed right now so it's hard to tell)
For now, we're happy to say bye bye, orange!!
~Installed some of the new hardware we got, and bought a new mirror and light for the bathroom (coming this week!)
~Had a double date night to see a movie with my work bestie and her hubby to see Spy, which was SO much funnier than any of us had thought it would be (it has over 90% on Rotten Tomatoes which was what convinced us to try it out).
Jason Statham is hilarious in this |
~The four of us went to dinner and tried out a new (to us) restaurant which had amazing sushi--I was too hungry to snap a photo of our yummy-ness
~Sat across from a group of kids who were going to prom, and we were entertained throughout dinner
~Woke up early, and had blueberry and strawberry pancakes for breakfast courtesy of the husband
~Headed out for an Urban Hike across the bridge into National Harbor--over 4 miles! We can now say we've walked into DC and into Virginia and back :)
~Had some nice time relaxing out on the deck; read
~Made blue cheese and pepper burgers on the grill and corn on the cob for dinner, and dined al fresco!
~Ended the night curled up with Cooper and MG, and The Judge and Game of Thrones
This weekend was such a nice balance of productivity, fun with friends, exercising and enjoying being outside. I couldn't have asked for a much better weekend! :)
I hope your weekend was just as awesome!
