30 Days of Gratitude

It's the start of a new month--one that, for me, can be full of all kinds of stress, anxiety, etc because it's the start of a new school year. The way last school year ended (and some things I've already been dealing with before this school year officially starts), I felt like anything I could do to focus myself, my head and my heart on the positive would be a good thing.

I love the idea of gratitude. It's so easy to get bogged down by every day problems, but being thankful for big things in your life all the way down to the small moments...it focuses your perspective on the positive and helps guide away from the negative.

So this month, I'm going to follow this prompt for 30 Days of Gratitude, through photos, that I found online:

At the end of every post this month, I'll be posting a photo of my gratitude around these topics. I welcome you to join me, and share it on social media (instagram, twitter) with the hashtag #Gratitude30.

Since today is September first, and the prompt for today is "Words", I chose these two photos:

This last one is actually the background on my iPhone, to remind me every time I look at my phone (a bunch throughout the day) to think of the things that I'm grateful for and say a little "thank you."

What words speak gratitude for you today?
I can't wait to see who participates and what you're grateful for each day!

  1. Absolutely love that quote - everything does come to you when you're really ready - not when you think you're ready!! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  6. What a great idea! September is an especially great month for this, since it feels like a fresh start in so many ways (though of course, that can also bring along added stress, which is why it's so important to stay mindful and focus on gratitude!).

  13. I love this idea. I think it's so important to take time to reflect on gratitude and happiness - it's easy to let it get away from you and let the negative stuff stand out more.

  21. This is a neat idea for Instagram. I do a Thankful Friday post each week and it all is compiled from the week on Fridays. It really helps keep things in perspective. My word everyday is grateful! Thanks for sharing this on our Tueday Talk today.

  25. Gratitude is truly such a wonderfully powerful part of living, for me! Being grateful helps me to remain present, to keep my perspective (or change it if need be), to be more open and accepting of change/differences, and also to be happier! :)

  26. This is SUCH a great idea! As sad as it sounds, gratitude is something I'm continually working on. I think in the blogging world, it's especially easy to get caught up in the 'everyone has MORE' and not be appreciative for what we do have. Love this!
