Weekending: Triple Dates and Double Blates

Another weekend come and gone, and another work week ahead!
{via}
I'm full swing into my schedule now with all of my kids jam packed into each day--my Mondays are my busiest days so Ill be glad when today is over.

But before all that, let's recap the highlights from the weekend:

~Got to see one of my students who I'd worked with for 3 years on Friday afternoon at her middle school. She was super excited and surprised to see me which was so fun!

~Friday night triple date with some friends--got to celebrate one couple's recent pregnancy announcement with twins!

~Had my first pumpkin beer of the season--it was really tasty!

~Tried out a new-to-us restaurant that felt like it should be beach-side--you never would have known that there was a main road right outside this place
~Had the most amazing fish tacos I've had since I was in San Diego (along with some awesome ceviche, and fried pickles for appetizers)
~Stopped at a nearby bar for an after-dinner drink (the guys did) and ended the night at our friends' place before heading home.

~Started Saturday dealing with a slash in MG's tire which ended up taking up most of his day getting it (and the other 3 tires) replaced while I ran an errand to Costco

~Met up with Christy and her husband, The Pilot, for a semi-spontaneous double-blate with our men in Old Town! They had some down-time from a wedding in order to eat dinner, so that's why they look so nice and we look not as nice:
(two blates in one week!)
~Ate outside, by the water, had some food and split a bottle of wine

~Time flew by so quick! (I really love that our husbands always get along so well--there was one date where my husband begged me not to go on another double date because the guy was awful--you never know how two guys, brought together by their ladies, will get along!) Christy and I joked about getting our husbands matching outfits--you had to be there lol

~Got to walk through the craft festival that was going on in the streets of Old Town after we ate and saw some fantastic artwork and sculptures
~Slept for 10 hours Saturday night (much needed after last week!)

~Sunday morning errands

~Ran into a friend at Target and made plans to hang out in a couple of weeks with her and her husband

~Bought two new end tables for the basement
~Beautiful weather--our doors were open all day long, much to Cooper's enjoyment

~Football and wings

~Got in a little Kindle reading of The Royal We

~Chipotle for dinner, more football and the Emmys

~Off to bed to rest up for another crazy week!

I hope your weekend was fun and relaxing. Ready to take on the day?

  3. Haha so true about the double dates! You can be going out with your best friend and her man, and you just never know how the boy's chemistry will be... I feel like someone should write a book about double dating..or maybe it already exists!

  4. It's seriously the best when your husband gets along with your friend's significant other! I love whenever we can get together with another couple and the guys can do their own thing and the girls can do their own thing, and we don't have to worry about the other.
