Happy week of Thanksgiving! I seriously can't believe in 3 days we'll be cooking and eating with family!
Luckily this weekend was relatively low-key so we could get ready for all of the festivities!
My weekend highlights included:
~a really cool post-rain sky on my drive home Friday evening
~pizza and a movie at home--we watched Trainwreck which wasn't as funny as all the hype made it out to be. Really disappointing.
~was up super early for a doctor's appointment (work up earlier than my work day alarm!)
~Cooper got his fur did at the groomers--love when he gets groomed and is all soft and puffy!
~and some Cooper cuddles, because what's a weekend without puppy snuggles?
(I swear, he puts himself here...I just take the photos when it happens) :)
~Dealt with Macys and their ridiculousness--I seriously hate that store and their customer "service"--waited there for 45 minutes just to be told they couldn't help us; then, we eventually got an item that was defective, that they had repackaged and sold as new #iofficiallyhatemacys
~a trip to Home Depot because MG was the best husband ever and got stuff to make a blanket ladder for the basement
~lent a helping hand during the construction part of the blanket ladder
~Made our way to Tysons to deal with Macy's again, to get this beauty:
loving this more than Keurigs we've used in the past! |
~dinner at Brio with the world's most delicious lobster bisque ever, and the strawberry fields salad....I could eat my weight in that lobster bisque, it's so freaking good!
~fell asleep on the couch after an early morning and running around all day
~started Sunday morning with chocolate chip pancakes made by MG
~Sunday morning errands to get everything we needed for Thanksgiving...our cart was full at every store we went to!
~stopped by TJMaxx to return something and saw this amazingly ugly Redskins youth sweater--I was so tempted to buy this hideousness, but I refrained and got some Christmas towels instead...but I kinda wanna go back for that ugly sweater lol
~Got out some of the Christmas decor to decorate a bit (but not the tree....yet!)
the white pillow has little strands of gold in it--so pretty! |
~Reveled in the beauty of the totally stained and set blanket ladder #besthusbandaward
~ordered this set of blankets to add to our blanket ladder:
~got these perfect sea urchins at Target and found a spot for them on the wall in the basement
~watched football, cleaned up around the house, did laundry, and relaxed.
Feeling a lot more prepared for our biggest Thanksgiving yet! Hoping the week is full of wonderful things! :)
Linking up with these pretties today:
That blanket ladder he made you is pretty fantastic - I can already hear him going, why don't we just use our existing blankets to add to the ladder and you're reasoning -it's new so the blankets have to be new!! Yay for a new keurig!! The lobster bisque at Brio is pretty fantastic! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteLook at Cooper all handsome after the groomers! That ladder came out awesome, such a great piece for all those throws we have laying around. Cheers to a fabulous short week <3

I LOVE the blanket ladder - great job hubby! I need to have my hubby look into making one of those for me too! Also, Cooper looks all ready for Thanksgiving festivities. I always loved hosting Thanksgiving at my house. Unfortunately, however, we are too far from family again this year to get to enjoy time with them. I will at least have my son and his girlfriend though, so I am very thankful for that! :) Have a great day and yes Cheers to a short week for sure! :)
ReplyDeleteUgh I am so sorry that Macy's is being so awful. I take stuff back all the time to them, my DustBuster went out this week and they gave me a new one without a reciept. I'd try calling their customer service dept. I know it's annoying, but I know that someone will help you. Happy turkey day week!

Pizza and movies at home is the best! Love the new coffee machine! Oooooooh a blanket ladder! I don't think I've seen one of those before! It looks fab without the blankets, can't wait to see it with the few you ordered!! Woooooohoooooooo!
ReplyDeleteIf you have an ugly sweater party coming up, you MUST return and get that sweater...it's just too perfect! Also, I'm fascinated by that new Keurig, it looks much more high-tech than mine!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun weekend, pizza & movies, SIGN ME UP! :) Happy Thanksgiving Week!
ReplyDeleteI love that blanket ladder! Can't wait to see the DIY on it ;-) I also think you should go back and get that sweater, it will come in handy many times I'm predicting. Sounds like a great relaxing and productive weekend.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun and productive weekend! I, too, LOVE lobster bisque and that blanket ladder is awesome!
ReplyDeletewhat a productive and fun weekend! i mean who couldn't eat their weight in lobster bisque?! haha i def could! and that sweater cracks me up - i think it's always good to have an ugly sweater on reserve!

Sounds like you had a great weekend! Sad to hear Trainwreck wasn't that great. Part of me was wondering if all the funny parts were in the previews. Loving your blanket ladder and sea urchins! And you definitely need that sweater!! Haha! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes
ReplyDeleteWe watched Inside Out Friday night and it was so cute! Heard that about Trainwreck. Love the blanket ladder, need J to make me one. I love Cooper's perfect pose in the last pic and what coffee maker is that?!?
ReplyDeleteCooper is looking all ready for the holidays – how sweet! Chocolate chip pancakes – now that is a perfect Sunday morning to me! I love how the ladder came out. How nice that you guys had so much time this weekend to prep for Thanksgiving – that makes it so much more enjoyable I’d bet!
ReplyDeleteUgh, when stores aren't helpful, especially in their customer service department, it's the worst! It sounds like you had a successful weekend despite all of that! And I love your new blanket ladder! What a great idea to keep on the blankets off the couch and looking pretty!
ReplyDeleteNovember flew by in a blink of an eye! I still can't believe it's thanksgiving week! This 80 degree weather isn't helping with the feel of the holidays, either! Ha!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great weekend! I still want to move into your basement ;)
Love the blanket ladder the hubs put together. Nice work! Your basement looks so cozy...sounds like you got lots done this weekend and of course puppy snuggles are the best.
ReplyDeleteI would eat Lobster bisque everyday if I could. It is by far one of my favorite foods. I've been searching for Christmas themed pillows I like for our couch and haven't found any that I love. Thankfully I'm going shopping with my mom later this week and she has good taste!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great weekend!
Loooove that blanket ladder!! Tell your hubs to make me one ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the ladder! That looks very nice in your living room. & I agree that is a pretty ugly sweater :) haha
ReplyDeleteThat Washington ugly sweater is SO funny!! Definitely perfect for a party! I also LOVE the idea of that blanket ladder - can't wait to see the final product. I liked Trainwreck but was disappointed about how much of a romcom it turned into. I thought there would be more from Amy Schumer!
ReplyDeleteWhat a productive weekend!! And I LOVE the ladder. He did such a great job!!
ReplyDeleteI love the little teeny touch of Christmas! I'm *trying* to wait to decorate, but I may or may not have put the Nutcrackers on my window sill yesterday ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the blanket ladder & productive weekend! I loved Trainwreck but I get it... I've definitely been let down many types when things get too hyped up.
ReplyDeleteThat ladder is awesome! You guys did such a good job...you can send one my way. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love prepping for a holiday week!
ReplyDeleteYour ladder looks great, I can't wait to see it with the blankets on.
Wow that sky looks amazing, there is nothing cooler than the sky after a good rain. :)
ReplyDeleteI showed Ryan your blanket ladder and told him that we now need one. :) Love the blanket that you ordered for it, too!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving your new blanket ladder! What a good husband! ;) And Cooper looks so handsome - Brady is heading to the groomer on Wednesday just in time for all of his holiday traveling he'll be doing, ha!
ReplyDeletePuppy snuggles on the weekends are the very best!! And I totally need a blanket ladder now! Looks like a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like such a perfect weekend! I'm envious of your blanket ladder!
ReplyDeleteThat blanket ladder is so cute, perfect cozy addition! Those sea urchins too, I saw them and passed on them the first time I was at Target and saw them, but when I went back they were gone. I need to scour again and find them! Bummed that Trainwreck wasn't that good, but they over hyped it I figured it wasn't gonna be as great as the previews made it out to be!
ReplyDeleteLove love love coop's glamour photo like "look at me!" Also adore that ladder! Excellent idea! Glad you guys has a good weekend! (minus Macy's...)
ReplyDeleteWow what a productive weekend! I agree with you about Macy's-not the best. I probably only shop there once a year now but it looks like you came out victorious. Also Cooper looks great
