Weekending Highlights

Happy Monday, lovies! Hope your weekend was awesome and you're ready to take on the week!
{via}
My weekend highlights included:

~Friday date night at our favorite pizza spot
~Redbox'ed Inside Out and finally got to watch it (absolutely loved it!) with a fire going. Perfection!
~Slept in Saturday morning

~Picked up some paint samples at Home Depot for our bedroom, and made our selection (Urban Raincoat will be what we sleep and wake to)

~Went and saw The Revenant because MG was excited to see it. My thoughts? It was well done, and well acted, but it just wasn't my kind of movie. And it dragged in the middle a bit. Not my favorite.

~Got ready to head to my principal's house for a "Holiday Recovery Party"....were leaving and realized MG didn't have his wallet. Luckily it was at the movie theater so we swung by to get it, and everything was in it, including the money! Thank goodness for good people!

~Spent several hours with almost everyone I work with, and their significant others, and got to see my principal's huge house which had an elevator and a wine cellar! Super nice! #envy

~Went out in Old Town with some of my work friends and our husbands/boyfriends to Blackwall Hitch. Got to sit upstairs on the couches, listen to live music, and chat
~Stayed out way later than we'd planned to...oops!

~Had blueberry pancakes made by MG for breakfast

~Ran errands

~Started prepping the walls in the bedroom for painting (filling holes, removing old curtain rod holders, etc)

~Made lunch at home, and cheered on the Vikings (felt so bad for our friend who is a coach on the team and was standing outside in the -6 weather for the whole game. They said it was -25 with the windchill!) That was a tough loss to watch--so close!
~While our friends in MN were freezing, we went for a walk around the lake by our house since it was 63 degrees out--really liking all of these opportunities in the middle of "Winter" to be active outside
~Gave Cooper a bath and got to snuggle with his fluffy-ness!
~Watched the Skins/Packers game, another disappointment

~Made my easy stovetop chili recipe for dinner
~Watched the Golden Globes while eating the most delicious bowl of ice cream that ever was:
We didn't do a ton this weekend, but it was nice to accomplish a few things, see some friends, and have an easy weekend to relax after the first full week back at work.

Hoping your weekend was just as nice and restful!

  1. Your weekend sounded fabulous - I wish we would have rented inside out instead of Ted 2 which we thankfully got our money back for from iTunes - AWFUL! We were really enjoying the weather even though it rained yesterday - it was still in the high 50s!! Glad you guys picked a paint color - can't wait to see the finished product! Happy Monday! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  2. Inside Out looks like such a cute movie. I was wondering how The Revenant actually was...from the previews it didn't seem too great, but it has gotten such great reviews, not to mention nominations! Pancakes sound fabulous. I can't wait to see what you do with your room!

  3. Sounds like a great weekend. I'm excited to watch the Revenenant and Inside out!

Loving this weird weather in the middle of winter here in VA, but apparently snow is coming on MLK's day! :)

  5. Your chili looks so good! My friend saw Revenent and said the same thing, so I think I may hold off until DVD for that one. Glad MG was able to get his wallet back!

  7. Holy delicious food! I want to come spend the weekend with you... Your basement is still calling my name ;)
Inside Out was so cute, but so emotional! They must really be trying to teach kids about emotional feelings (I even felt like it was a way to reach out and help kids share about deeper feelings they may not understand like depression, anxiety, etc)
I can't believe the warm weather you are having for winter! You were warmer than us here in AZ! So nice!!

  8. Yay for being able to be active outside in the winter, one of the many reasons I moved south! And yummmm to blueberry pancakes, should be a weekend staple! I've been wanting to see Inside Out, and I may have to steal the idea to have the fireplace going at the same time - perfect for winter movie night <3

  9. That sounds like such a great weekend! I can't believe it was colder here than it was there!! That game looked absolutely FREEZING and I love the paint color y'all chose. And holy moly: your principal's house! They don't pay them like that down here! ;) Ha!

  17. What a great weekend! We have yet to see Inside Out or The Revenant, but both are on our lists. Hooray for the never-ending task of house painting. :) Happy Monday!

  18. Your weekends always sound like the perfect blend of relaxing and having fun!!! I'm so excited Leo won for that movie, but there is no way I'm seeing it.. it looked a bit gruesome!!

  19. I LOVE Inside Out. It was so great, but it made me so sad. I don't think I'll be able to handle watching The Revenant - I have a feeling it will just be too intense for me.

  20. Prepping walls is the worst to me. I'm glad you got a leg up on that project. Love the name of your paint and (after googling) the color too - perfect for a bedroom.

Hurrah for good people on the wallet scenario.

  21. This weekend, The Pilot said...I guess I'll cheer on the Vikings...isn't that who MG's friend works for? :)

Also, you always look so awesome! I love your outfits!

  23. As a MN girl, I feel your friend's pain! ;-) Super jealous of the warm temps you guys have, I would give anything to get outside on a walk right now!
We saw the Revenant too..amazing and well done, but seeing it once was enough for me. I prefer Leo in Titanic!

  24. Your principal sounds like they have the most perfect house ever! Where can I get one of those wine cellars in my house? It wasn't the best weekend for football for us either, although standing on the sidelines with negative degree windchill sounds even more miserable!

  25. Umm I am definitely trying that chili recipe soon.. looks so good and not too time consuming! Perfect for this freezing weather! Thanks for sharing ;)
