Sorry for my absence at the start of the week--it was just a bit chaotic, and being at my work training yesterday (which was actually productive--thanks to those of you who showed me some love!) I knew I wouldn't have time to blog or respond to everyone so I took two days off from blogging. But, I'm back for what's hap-"pinning" Wednesday, to share what I've been up to this past weekend!
My weekend highlights included:
~Friday after-work bday HH for my friend, which was much needed after a not so pleasant encounter with another teacher
~getting &pizza for dinner
~prepping our bedroom for painting the next day. The before:
everything was this beige/yellow off-white...boring
everything was this beige/yellow off-white...boring
~some wine and essential oils to relax into the evening
~a morning and afternoon of painting the bedroom, including both MG and myself up in the alcove in our bedroom to tape and paint
you can kind of see the color a bit better in this photo than later on |
~We were supposed to be getting our screen doors delivered and installed, but Home Depot continued to prolong the process by not being able to find a key part of the whole thing, so that was delayed again (it's already been 2 months...)
~Finishing the final coat of paint, and hanging up new curtain rods, for a totally complete and cozy room (it looks more gray in these photos, but it's a soft gray/blue/green color in person:
~Cooper even got a new dog bed to go in the bedroom, which he immediately started playing in once we brought it home ($20 at HomeGoods!)
~Sushi for dinner on Saturday to reward ourselves for all of the hard work we did on our master bedroom
~Sunday morning stop at Starbucks before running errands
~Our first snow flurries of the season on Sunday...nothing stuck though
~Went out for several test-drives on Saturday afternoon and then all day Sunday afternoon. Tried out the Nissan Rogue, the Honda CRV, Mazda CX5, and the Hyundai Tucson. The Tucson was my favorite, but a bit out of our budget, so we're still deciding...
~Made the lasagna soup that Jessi posted about the other week....oh my goodness it was SO good, and a huge hit with MG!
And now I'm back at work today, with kids, hoping for a snow day on Friday since we're supposed to be getting hit with the start of a "blizzard" that day. We'll see what happens on that front, but in the meantime, it's your turn to link up below and share what's hap-"pinning" with you!

ReplyDeleteLoving the new color, you guys are doing an awesome job! And is it sad that I'm jealous you guys still have red cups in your area? Some of the Starbucks near me ran out before Christmas even arrived. The red ones are just so much prettier <3

ReplyDeleteLOVE the wall color! We'll be doing a little painting this weekend too! Hope you get some snow! Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteI saw that the blizzard that is supposed to be headed towards you this weekend will be insane! It doesn't look like I'm supposed to get it in Maine which is good because we need a break from snow, haha. I love the wall color! I hope you have a great rest of the week!
ReplyDeleteLove the color and the new window treatments. I had hoped to do my living room show of today, but yeah that didn't happen. And I love that Cooper got a new doggie bed. Hoping for a snow day for you!
ReplyDeleteOmg I love that color you picked for your bedroom! Painting is no joke, I hate the process and my husband usually does all the actual painting, lol. We got a ton of snow last night in Southern Indiana and are supposed to get more by the end of the week. Blah!!

ReplyDeleteThe paint color turned out awesome!!! I'm sure you guys are so glad that is done and over with now.. painting is not fun but it makes such a difference! And now I totally want sushi. At 9am as I read this. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the color in your bedroom! We built our house, so all of the walls are that boring taupe color. I'm hoping that we'll be able to paint a few rooms sometime this year, and we were actually thinking about a similar color to yours for our bedroom! It just seems like the perfect serene color!
ReplyDeleteLoving that color on your walls girl, softens the room up yet keeps it looking fresh and neutral! Love Cooper's doggy bed too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful color you put up in your bedroom! Great choice! I did my kitchen in Benjamin Moore Tranquility and it is similar. In some lights it looks blue or grey and others more green. Love it!
ReplyDeleteLove the new paint color!! It looks so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love the colour of your paint, so much better than that off white colour! It is amazing what a coat of fresh paint can do to a room. Seems like you had a productive weekend, you can come paint my room if you want to, finding the time to do it is non existent.
ReplyDeleteThe new bedroom walls look so good! I still need to paint mine but don't trust myself. The lasagna soup looks amazing and is perfect for this weather!
ReplyDeleteahh the bedroom looks fabulous! that picture of your hubby in the alcove is hilarious! and that lasagna soup.. need in my life.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the new color! It turned out great.
ReplyDeleteLoveeee how your bedroom turned out! It's such a relaxing color! That lasagna soup looks amazing and all the fingers crossed for your snow day on Friday ;)
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of MG up in the alcove painting, ha! The bedroom looks great though and props for doing it yourselves! Hope you get that snow day! We are ready for this "blizzard" after a quick grocery store stock up today and canceling out of town plans - I actually wouldn't mind being snowed in for the weekend to just relax!
ReplyDeleteI love the colour you chose! I bet that alcove was tricky to paint but everything looks so good! We are trying to decide on a new future car too. My friend has the Mazda CX-5 and loves it. Can't wait to hear what you choose!
ReplyDeletePainting sucks but I love the color! You should try to Hyundai Santa Fe, maybe more in budget...I loved it when I drove it for a while. My old boss has had it for 8 years and still loves it
ReplyDeleteThat soup looks amazingggg and perfect for this cold weather!!!
