Confessions....

It's Thursday, which means it's time to get to confessin' with my girl Jess!
I confess....

....I'm incredibly sad to say good bye to my favorite little guy I see at work. He's been the highlight of my week every week for the last year and the fact that he's moving to Atlanta in less than 2 weeks (and before his birthday which he'd invited me to), makes me super sad.
(he's too cute...even with the rectangle over his eyes in this pic haha)

.....MG got Cooper a bark collar because his barking, especially when we have the doors open, has become more frequent lately. But I feel kind of guilty about it. Luckily this bark collar just beeps and then vibrates (no shock) and within the first couple of barks, and subsequently being startled, Coop seems to have figured it out (he didn't bark at any of the dogs on tv last night which is HUGE). Hopefully he wont have to wear it for too long...I still feel sort of guilty tho...

....my blog friends are the best!

.....we made those baked queso tacos I shared with you last week again on Tuesday and they were super delicious #noshame
.....I haven't talked about our fertility journey lately, but we've been pursuing one option and I'm feeling hopeful after our most recent step in this process #prayers

....watching The People vs OJ Simpson makes me give Faye Resnick the side eye when I watch her on RHOBH...moreso than before
{via}
......my birthday's in 8 days and I only recently realized it--how is it March already?? #toomuchgoingon

...I don't like it when I read a post with a bunch of links that I have to click on in order to see what someone's talking about. Not sure if it's for affiliate links or what, but I dont have the patience to click open 8+ windows, then back to the blog and remember the stuff I wanted to comment on #showmepictures

....I've thought it was Friday two days this week. Considering today is only Thursday, that's not really a good thing.

....it's my blog soulmate (and link up cohost)'s birthday today--shout out to my beautiful friend, Jessi, on your birthday!! I hope your day is filled with LV (hello, lover!) and Andi's laughter! Love you girl!

What are you confessing this week?

  1. I'm with you on clicking all the blog links to shopping sites. I think it is a way to get folks to click on affiliate links. It really makes me NOT want to click them! I hope your fertility journey is a smooth one and successful right away. Have a happy Thursday!

  2. Don't you just hate it when a good student moves away? I'm always so sad! Like, why can't the bad ones move to another school? hah! Happy Thursday!

  3. I am definitely going to make those tacos next week. They look amazing! I hate having to click on a bunch of links, too. Usually I stop reading that post if there are too many. I watched OJ last night - I am an episode behind, but Faye is one hot mess! What a beezy.

  4. I totally agree about the links!

  5. Hey girl! The reason for allll the links in people's posts is I think they get a money per click. But I wish bloggers that do this have the links open in a new window so I don't lose their blogpost!! Aww sorry your favorite student is moving away!! The tacos look amazing!! I couldn't figure out why the name Faye Resnick was striking a cord in me during the show!! Thank you for figuring it out! I forgot she was on the RHWOBH! Prayers to you in your fertility journey & Happy early birthday!! =)

  7. Aw poor Cooper, I'd feel guilty too. At least it's not hurting him, hopefully you can take it off soon! And those tacos look amazing, I have been craving Mexican food lately!

  8. Love that you made those tacos again! They are so ridiculously good (and easy)! And yes, totally giving Faye the side-eye after watching the OJ show; she's a piece of work, man. Exciting news about the newest option in your fertility journey; yay!!! And I agree about the 5,001 clicks!

  9. I'm the same with links! Usually I only click on a couple because it takes too long. Sending you best wishes on your fertility journey! Hang in there!

  10. So sad that your sweet student is moving - heading to my area of the woods, lol! It's hard to lose the good ones though. Unfortunately, the good ones sometimes seem a little more rare these days. Wishing you luck on your latest step in the journey to baby - you know I am here for you all the way and praying for you guys! Hoping for good birthday news this year:)

As for the links thing, well, I totally agree with you. Some people just overdo it - if your posts are full of links every day, well, I'm probably not going to be following for long. I use links myself on occasion, and sometimes struggle with not wanting to clutter up my post with product photos. But also don't want to make people click onto things too much, as it's super annoying for a reader - so I think it's a balance. My links are a mix of non-affiliate and affiliate links (the shoes I linked today for example, are not an affiliate link) but I am with you - when I see posts that are literally JUST links, I give up quick. Love seeing what other people think as well, as there's always room for improvement in blogging!

  11. Girl, I thought it was Friday yesterday so I feel your pain. Only one more day to go! And I finally made those tacos on Sunday and they are AMAZING!!! So good! My pup had to get a bark collar for awhile and I felt so bad about it but it didn't seem to bother him too much. If he got super worked up he would just bark through the vibration too lol! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

  12. So many prayers and baby dust being sent your way! Love that you are opening up a little bit about it :) I'm here to vent, as you already know!! P.s. totally agree about all those links... uhm no I am not going to click 25 links in 1 paragraph #annoying

  14. We've been considering getting Brady a similar collar to help with some behavioral issues but I have the same feelings! I want to do it because I hear they do work and we really need to get a couple problems under control before the baby, but I also would feel so bad for the guy! So tough. Still need to make those tacos, yum!!

  15. Sad day, but you made such an impact on him and he will never forget it. And poor Coop, but I am sure he's fine. I too hate affiliate links. I just want to see what you're talking about.

  16. Those tacos are on my grocery list for this weekend. I'm so excited to try them. I've been watching The People vs. OJ too. So interesting. Yay for being March babies! :)

  17. Link thing DRIVES ME CRAZY!! And Faye Resnick... yes... #notafan.

    ReplyDelete
  18. YES to all the links on blogs!! A link is fine, but I'm more likely to click the link if I see what it's linking to!! And I pinned those tacos last week--need to make them ASAP! Prayers for your most recent step in your fertility journey!!

  19. I'm such a visual person so I'm with you on the links - show me the pictures!! One of my dogs has a barking collar too and I felt so bad the first few days she had it but now there's a huge difference and she no longer wears it. We keep it in sight and it's like she knows it'll go back on if she gets out of control.

  20. Excited for you with the positive hopes on the fertility journey - sending you lots of good thoughts and can't wait to hear updates/where your headed! YES to the links! I am such a visual person (in life, not just blogs) so I need both links (because I usually like somethingggg in the pictures) but most importantly pictures!

    Happy Birthday Month!!

  21. thanks for linking up with gretch and i as well :)
i agree with the links - it annoys me, i think it is sneaky. i only do it if the link i am sharing is NOT an affiliate link or not really pertinent to what i am talking about. i won't click on sneaky affiliate links.
my dogs were outside dogs back home, and they would bark at night and wake us up. i didn't mind, but our neighbours did haha. we actually put muzzles on them - that sounds horrible, but they could still eat and drink, just couldn't bark. we did it for a short time and then forgot one night and they didn't bark. they learn fast :)

  22. I totally feel you on students leaving and getting sad. I'm an elementary ESL teacher in a school with high mobility. I never get used to having some move away :(

  23. That's good the bark collar doesn't shock and the vibrating has been successful! Luckily Lola hardly barks unless some strange comes in her view which is one thing I love. Sending prayers for your fertility journey and I hope you celebrate your birthday all month long!

  24. Yes! Show me pictures. I only want links to articles you think I should read.

  25. I have a few friends going through a fertility journey too. I am sending the good thoughts I send to them to you as well! Those tacos called me name last week and now they are yelling MAKE ME NOW!

  26. I am sending you prayers and positive thoughts in your fertility journey. We had a rough go of it and I know how hard it is to go through treatments, talks your options and the endless tests. Fingers crossed for you guys. Those tacos look so good and might need to make an appearance at my house next week.

  27. I'd love to hear more about your fertility journey.. I hope you share. Sometimes writing it all out is the weight that needs to be lifted. :-) I agree with the links.. it's too many clicks for me. :-) Happy Birthday to Miss Jessi!! I love that both you and her are Pisces girls with me!!! We are the best. :-)

  28. So I've seen your comments on tons of other blogs and just haven't had time to check out your blog, but I'm so glad that I finally did!

And girl, I woke up thinking today was Friday so you're not the only one.

Also, I love me some Jessi, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Finally (and most importantly) I will keep you guys in my prayers as you continue your fertility journey. I have several friends who are on similar journeys (one who just got pregnancy on her own after 8 years of trying and being told she would never have kids) so I've seen people whom I love struggle with this. Keep your head up, friend!

  29. Many prayers on the fertility journey, sweet friend!! Also, I need details on the bark collar because Kobi could use one to help him calm down a bit!!

  30. I thought yesterday was Friday!! I am going to need to bookmark that taco recipe, 'cause we like tacos :) Am I really missing out on the OJ show? Should I dvr all of them if there is a marathon going on??? Praying for you and MC on the fertility journey!! I know so many people who are also on the same journey (and we could be on it next year for all I know!) so I will send uplifting thoughts and prayers your way!

  31. Those tacos - YUM! Prayers for you guys and your journey. I always give Faye the side-eye. I don't think she's a nice person at all, ugh. I don't see what Kyle sees in her!

  32. Those queso tacos look DELISH! Sending lots of prayers and *hugs* your way with your fertility journey, here for you gurlie! And ugh... I was never a fan of Faye, and I agree that the People vs. OJ Simpson is making me see her in a different light. Now I understand Camille calling her the morally corrupt Faye Resnick!

  33. Ugh, the morally corrupt Faye Resnick. The OJ show is making me side eye Kyle too - c'mon, how could you be friends with her?

I'm hoping this current fertility journey continues to go positively - praying for a sweet little babe for you two.

  34. I hear you on all the affiliate links. Also-can you tell me what brand bark collar you got? My dachshund is a serial barker (at everything) and we've tried all kinds of training, but nothing has worked.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Eh, I often put links because pictures is more time-consuming. However, they're NEVER affiliate links, so there's no motive behind it :)
It's always sad when our favorite students move!

  36. I think I need to make those tacos next week, they look so good! I for sure thought it was Thursday one day, but definitely only Wednesday-- it's weird how the week seems to go by slow and then fast at the same time once it's over!

  37. I love when a link is provided, if a picture is provided also!

I would love to hear as much about your fertility journey as you are willing to share. We are in a waiting period before we can doing testing to determine the cause of recurrent miscarriages, and it is a such a lonely time.

  38. Those tacos looked delicious so happy to hear that they are! Also, so sad that your favorite kiddo is moving! Prayers for you with your option! xo, Champagne&Suburbs
