{Recipe Files}: Lettuce Wraps

Who doesn't enjoy P.F. Changs lettuce wraps? Those are one of my favorite things to order whenever we go there (which has been SO long at this point).
But now, you can make them at home, thanks to another yummy recipe from Damn Delicious!
What You Need:

~1 Tbsp olive oil
~1 lb ground turkey/chicken
~2 cloves garlic minced (or 1 tsp from jar)
~1 small onion, diced
~1/4 Cup Hoisin sauce
~2 Tbsp soy sauce
~1 Tbsp rice wine vinegar
~1 Tbsp freshly grated ginger
~1 tsp Sriracha (or more if preferred)
~1 8-ounce can water chestnuts, drained and diced (I forgot to dice ours)
~salt/pepper to taste
~1 head of lettuce
Optional: green onions, diced

I know this list looks sort of long, but honestly if you've ever made an Asian dish before, you probably have most of all of these on hand. And if you dont, and you want to cook more Asian dishes, just buy the ingredients, and then you'll have them on hand whenever you want to make Asian inspired food!
What You Do:

1. Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium/high heat and then add in the ground chicken or turkey and brown. Drain excess liquid and return to the pan.

2. Add in the garlic, onion, Hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, grated ginger and Sriracha and cook until the onions are cooked through.
3. Add in the water chestnuts and the green onions (if you're using them) and cook until those are tender (about 2 minutes). Season with salt/pepper to taste.
See? told you I forgot to dice them--we chopped them up with the spatula while they cooked as best as we could after this pic was taken)
4. Spoon the mixture into lettuce leaf and eat! (My husband topped his with more Sriracha because he likes it spicy)

  6. These look sooo good- lettuce wraps are one of my favorite foods. We're usually lazy and buy a little spice packet for them, but being able to control what you're putting into them is way better!
