What's Hap-"Pinning" Wednesday {#36}

Happy hump-day peeps! Since it's Wednesday, you know what time it is!
Link up with Jessi and I and share what's hap-"pinning" with you!
It's been a while since I've done a currently post, so I thought today would be a good day for one!

Currently I'm.....
Reading ...
I'm in between two books right now. One is called When God Doesn't Fix It, which was a recommendation from Owen. The other one I literally just read the first chapter of which was called A Man Called Ove.
Listening to...
still listening to the Hamilton soundtrack. It is absolutely incredible. I listen to it on my drive home from work, and on the weekends when I'm out running errands. The lyrics are so smart, and the music is catchy. Definitely check it out if you haven't already (and if you have Prime, you can stream the entire album for free!!)

Watching ...
Bravo shows! I begrudgingly watched Shahs of Sunset on Sunday mainly because nothing else was on, which is about the only time I watch the show.
Southern Charm was ok this week but was lacking in the drama department, and next week doesn't look too dramatic either. #boo

And I watched the premiere of Real Housewives of Dallas. Now, if the word of the season for Real Housewives of Potomac was "etiquette", the word for this season is "Jesus Juice". I think they said it AT LEAST 15 times within 4 minutes last night. And that was just the first 15 minutes or so. If you had to drink every time they said 'Jesus Juice' I would have been drunk in no time (probably from said Jesus Juice--oh no, now they have ME saying it!) Not sure how I feel about this season yet, but I haven't fully given up on them like I did on RHOP after the first episode.

Cooking...

I made roasted buffalo cauliflower bites on Monday for the first time! I've seen them around Pinterest for a while, and my bestie raves about them, so I figured while MG was away to try them. They were really good! I put them over a salad and added some blue cheese dressing--SO YUM!

Looking forward to ...
MG coming home on Friday, and getting to celebrate our anniversary!

Wishing...
that Zika didn't ruin our Aruba trip. But, since we made the official decision, the news that keeps coming out about it just makes it clear that we made the right decision. Still stinks though #gimmethebeach

Enjoying ...
talking about plans for what we will do with the airline voucher we got for cancelling. At the top of our list right now is a trip to Spain! I've wanted to go for a looooong time, and as long as those pesky mosquitoes don't make their way there, it's on the table! Just need to figure out a good time for it.

Loving....
my friends. And specifically this week, my friends from work who took me out to dinner on mine and MG's actual anniversary last night so that I wouldn't be alone on our anniversary. Love them!

Eating....
these delicious chocolate muffins my friend made for me with zucchini!! They may sound funny but they are freaking delicious!!! And she said they're healthy, which makes me feel less bad when I'm stuffing my face with them every morning :)
there are two missing in this photo because they're in my stomach :)

Wanting ...
our HOA to hurry the hell up and approve our windows so we can get them ordered (wait 3 weeks for them to be made) and get them installed before it's hot as balls outside. I don't understand what the hold up is.
Wearing ...
back and forth between warm weather and cold weather stuff. Luckily it's supposed to at least be in the 60s or warmer the rest of this week. I hope it means that Winter has finally decided to go home and sleep it off! Maybe I can finally put my Winter coat away for good...this time!

Thankful...
that our taxes are done, we got a pretty good refund (after thinking we might not get anything back) and it's already been deposited into our account! Whoop!

Now it's your turn to link up and share what's hap-"pinning" with you. Remember, it can be anything, it doesn't have to be Pinterest-related!

  8. So much goodness in this post! I've always seen both of those recipes (muffins and zucchini) floating around Pinterest, so I'm glad to know they are both good. I need to check out those books. I think Spain sounds perfect and Jesus juice really?!?!

  10. I'm still so bummed FOR you about Aruba, but Spain instead?! Yes, please! I've always wanted to go to Spain!! Those muffins look delish and how sweet of your friends to take you out last night for y'all's anniversary! I'm watching RHOD this afternoon and am nervous; I heard there's a LOT of potty talk. Sigh.

  13. Spaaaaaaaain!! That would be AMAZING! Fingers crossed that works out for you!
HOA is such a pain to deal with! I would be nagging them like crazy to get it approved so you can move forward. But seriously, you have to get windows approved?! Ugh!
Genius idea to put the cauliflower over a salad, sounds delish!

  14. I hope you are enjoying that book! Definitely not your typical romance novel but so good for the soul when going through trials. I just mailed it to a friend yesterday who is going through similar struggles as us!

  17. So I kind of actually really enjoyed the new RH of Dallas. Not sure why but it looks intriguing with the one girl who isn't all uppity and super rich. We will see how it turns out but I'm hooked right now!

  18. Yay for Spain! That would be amazing! & so excited for it to be Friday for you! :)

  19. Oh girl - that Zika virus is getting scary! I just heard yesterday that they are urging some of the athletes not to go to Brazil for the Olympics. I mean, that is seriously business if they're asking people to cancel their plans for the Olympics! For what it's worth, I think you guys made the right decision as well, but gosh, it really sucks that it had to ruin your trip.

  22. I haven't gotten to watch RHOD yet but everything I've read makes me think I may not like it! I've seen the buffalo cauliflower on Pinterest but didn't know if it would be worth a try or not, I'll have to try it now! I think we need that chocolate muffin recipe too :)

  23. I'm OBSESSED with Hamilton right now! I've been listening to 'History has it's eyes on you' all morning. Yesterday, it was 'Dear Theodosia.' The whole thing is so dang good- I'm not sure I can wait until 2017 when the national tour starts to see it!

  24. Ugh, Zika. It really hit its "media" peak about two weeks after we got back from the Dominican and its present in the Dominican and I got eaten alive one night on my feet/ankles/lower legs from sitting on our patio. While I never exhibited any serious symptoms, I did have a touch of pink eye, but I dismissed it as improper contact wear. Now I wonder if I should go to the doctor? But then it apparently goes out of your bloodstream in 60 days? There is so much conflicting information :/ The weather is nuts in Georgia too! I just want to wear a spring dress and not freeze to death!

  26. I hate HOAs. I will never live where I have to abide by HOA rules.

    I love roasted buffalo cauliflower.

  28. I used to read so much and now I seriously have no time, I really hate that. I also saw Real Housewives of Dallas and I'm not sure what I think! I'll give it another chance and most likely get sucked in! HA

  29. Ok my first ever Real Housewives experience was with the Dallas one and like you said, I'll give it another week or 2. How about the hubby that gives chores and the girls that only talk about poop? hahaha lord have mercy! Cheers to tax returns and warmer weather and I hope the windows can get ordered soon! I've never had to deal with an HOA so I'd imagine it can be annoying. Hope you have a great day! Muah! xo

  30. I've made zucchini bread with chocolate chips before, but those chocolate muffins with zucchini look SO good! I can't get enough of Southern Charm for some reason- though this week's episode annoyed me a little bit because I thought it was too much about cameron (who I really like), but it just went too far in trying to make her look like she didn't know what she was doing. And it sounds like you guys made the right choice about Aruba for sure-- and Spain isn't a bad place to go instead :) going to listen to the hamilton soundtrack!

  31. Love me some Bravo! You know it's only a matter of time before it's full drama again with Thomas jumping out the window on Southern Charm via that over-played preview!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Spain sounds so exciting!! I hope you and MG have a wonderful time celebrating your anniversary. HOAs are a pain in the ass. I know mine is for sure. I can never get through with them on the phone and they sent us a violation notice for leaving our trash can on the curb over the weekend. We were off traveling that weekend and since trash is picked up on Fridays we had to leave it there but I found that to be ridiculous

  33. I have been watching way too many Bravo shows lately haha, they just suck me in.

  34. We were planning a trip to Spain last year and it fell through and I want to replan now! Barcelona is amazing as is San Sebastian. My friend has a very awesome Spain itinerary she sent me that I will share with you if you want. Those buffalo cauliflower bites sound amazing! I need to make them. Enjoy celebrating the anniversary!

  35. The Zika virus is so freaking me out - every time something new comes out it's just crazy! Friday will be here before you know it and celebrating/reuniting will be great!

    ReplyDelete
  36. HOA's always seem to take forever on things that REALLY shouldn't take that long!! The books sound awesome, and those cauliflower buffalo bites over that salad look DELISH!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Such a bummer about Aruba, but totally agree with you guys that it's better safe than sorry. Aaaand Spain will be absolutely AMAZING! So exciting!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I agree with Southern Charm not being as drama-filled in the last episode..hope they make up for it next episode. I need to check out RHOD...the Potomac one was a flop just hearing about it imo lol. How awesome are you friends for taking you out on your anniversary!! Umm, can I come to Spain with y'all...I have that on my list of places to visit and even though that means no Aruba, at least it also means no Zika :)!

  39. I STILL haven't watched The Real Housewives of Dallas, which is kind of insane for a Texan, but I might have to watch with a glass of wine and wait for the Jesus Juice part! That really sucks about your vacation, but maybe that means that Spain will happen instead!

    ReplyDelete
  40. oh those cauliflower buffalo things look great! just add chicken. Jk. sorta. what is hamilton? never even heard of it.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'm still on the fence with Dallas. This might be mean, but their accents are bothering me. Especially the two girls who talk about farts. They just sound like little babies. GO TO SPAIN!!! It's one of my favorite places ever. Southern Spain is so awesome and you can drive within a day to see beaches and mountains. It's awesome.
