Confessions and hashtags

It's Thursday and today's the first day that Lynn and Danielle are hosting the Confessions link up! It's also Cinco De Mayo! Insert a good "Ay yay yay yay YAY!" or "Ole!" here haha!
I confess that....
.....I want to use my sunless tanner before the wedding tomorrow, but I also feel like it's a dumb idea to try out a new sunless tanner the day before a wedding #oompaloompaorange
.....instead of working out after work on Tuesday, after putting on workout clothes, MG and I went to Chipotle instead, in order to take advantage of the Buy One Get One for teacher appreciation day #Mexicantrumpsexercise
.....the days that I don't get stuck behind a school bus are magical for my commute! But those happen SO rarely. And when I get stuck behind a HUGE group of kids that takes 5 minutes to load up the bus, I get a little ragey.

.....Madonna needs to stop trying so hard. And put her buttcheeks away. #stopbeingcheeky
(taken from sirtwitchalot's Instagram)
.....I saw an Instagram post of these sandals, and I had to do a double take because it looked like an art project from summer camp. Then I looked up the price and they were $185!!!! If you want to spend money on these goofy sandals, I'll make you a pair and only charge you $100 haha #wtf #isthisajoke (this is a FAR cry from the cute tassel ones I've seen....FARRRRRRR cry)
....it kind of hurts my feelings during Teacher Appreciation week when one of the days is dedicated towards writing letters to your teachers (kids and parents) to thank them for everything that they do, and I got nothing. I get that I'm not a classroom teacher, but I bust my butt week in and week out to help kids with their speech and I think that's kind of a big thing. It bums me out that parents wouldn't encourage their kids who see me for speech to write and thank me, or thank me themselves. (But they sure are quick to complain if something is wrong!) #speechteachersneedlovetoo

....I can't stop watching video and news clips of Lin-Manuel Miranda (the creator of Hamilton the musical). I can't help it. The guy is a freaking genius and I think he just seems like a nice guy, too.  It's safe to say I'm obsessed :) #lyricalgangster
(if you're as obsessed with Hamilton and Lin-Manuel as I am, this interview is super interesting)

....I can't remember the last time that I filled up my gas tank. I'll probably fill it up tomorrow morning, but seriously it's been a couple weeks at least. Love my Rogue! #vroomvroom

....before this past weekend, I'd never seen The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. MG and I love it and crack up at all the silly stuff in each episode! The rainy weekend gave us a good discovery! #unbreakable

What are some of your confessions this week?

  1. I haven't filled up my car in awhile either! Gotta love good gas mileage! I get upset when I am stuck behind a school bus. It hasn't happened in awhile, but when I used to come home at my normal time there was always a chance. And it's just a few kids but man do they take their sweet time!

  2. I cringed so hard at Madonna's outfit, ugh!! Chipotle is way better than working out, especially since I've been craving it for a while and there's not one close enough for me to get it a lot :( That really stinks you didn't get anything for Teach Appreciation week from the kids--you do so much and I hope they realize that and show you appreciation in some other way!!!! I think you're amazing!!!! :) And Kimmy Schmitt is awesome and super laughable!!! The second season is a little less funny to me, but still awesome :)

  3. I only fill up my care 2x a month, but that's because I never go anywhere! I am sorry that the kids didn't make anything for you. I am sure that is disheartening. But I am sure that they do appreciate you very very much! Isn't Madonna like 60? no butt-cheeks, please.

  5. You can't remember the last time you filled your car up? I have to fill mine up at least once a week! Hope you get a little Teacher Appreciation love today... every teacher needs some, even speech teachers :)

  6. I can't count how many times I've skipped the gym to get Mexican so I am right there with you girl! And yeah... Madonna. Wow. Time to put the cheeks away and class it up a bit! Happy Cinco! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

  8. Chipotle for the win! I saw the photo of Madonna on Kathie lee and Hoda when I was home sick and they thought it was ok, I was ummm no, not ok.

  12. The bus thing is the worst-- and what gets me is how the stops are SO close together on a non-main road... it really can add so much time onto the commute. I haven't watched any of Kimmy, but i keep hearing such good things!

  13. I really need to get into watching Unbreakable. Is it something I could watch with Mark or is like Gilmore Girls style that I can only watch during softball nights? I'll write you a teacher love note. It's like when the patients bring the doctors in gifts and I'm standing there like a moron, after I just did all your teaching, wrote you your scripts, filled out your FMLA paperwork and they get the present.

  14. Haha a few days before a wedding I went to I wanted to try a tanner too and decided not to for the same reason haha

  15. I wanted to do the sunless tanner for a wedding I went to last weekend and I opted not to. Fear of the orange. Those shoes are hideous. And for $185. I wrote a little note to go with my girls teach appreciation gifts even though they can't write yet. It is the little things that count. I am sorry you didn't get anything. All teachers deserve to be thanked! Thanks for linking up with us.

  16. #Mexicantrumpsexercise = best hashtag ever! :)

  17. I'm very cautious with sunless tanner being so fair skinned so I totally understand. Good luck! Chipotle sounds amazing right now. I still can't believe people sell those sandals.. craziness!

  18. I hated Madonna's outfit & those sandals are ridiculous lol!!!

  19. I am so sorry about the lack of thank you notes! Our son is just in a little Montessori "school" and I brought all 8 teachers hand soap with a note (Hands down best teacher around!) and a big ole cake to say Thank You! No other parent got anything for them. It just makes me so sad because even though it's a daycare they still deserve a thank you! They teach, discipline and love our kids when we are away 8-10 hours a day! I say Cheers to You and Thank you for your selflessness in choosing your profession to just help littles. Eat All the Chipotle! :)

  20. I love the gymnastics gif -- that's basically how I feel before eating Mexican (afterwards... I feel more like a sloth!). And I totally agree- those sandals are HORRIBLE and Lin-Manuel is awesome! I wanted to see Hamilton before it got SO popular but tickets were hard to come by months ago! Now it's impossible!! Sigh. Here's to hoping they take the show on the road! Make today work, Rachel -CubicleCouture

  21. Those sandals are NOT real life right now. WHO would pay so much money for pom poms glued to cheap sandals?!! I'm with you! ;) Caleb and I were actually just talking about trying out the Unbreakable KS show...I love her from her time on The Office so I'm sure I'd love this! :) hope you don't get stuck behind a bus on your way home today...hehe!

  22. I totally would have passed up working out for buy one get one free Chipotle! When those deals come around you must partake! Chris and I still haven't watched the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (well I started it but haven't finished it and he hasn't seen it at all), but I'm thinking that'll be the perfect show to watch this summer!

  23. I try to make MFD fill up my gas tank so I'm with you there. LOL

I hate when I am caught behind a school bus.

  24. Those shoes! OMG! Those cannot be for real.

And I can't believe that you didn't get any lovin' for teacher's appreciation. That really stinks!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Those sandals are so stupid. I could glue craft pom poms onto a cheap pair of Old Navy sandals. Madonna is such a loser these days. Like come on... she's done all this before. You have kids ... and she's like as old as my dad!

  26. Amen on those shoes!!! I'm pretty sure I might have seen the wedge version as well and yes, looks like a 5th grade camp craft. lol at the gymnastics/burrito gif!!

  27. Oh goodness...Madonna needs to realize that look wouldn't look good on ANYONE, much less someone her own age!

Sorry to hear about the lack of thank yous. You always hear teachers are under-appreciated, but since leaving teaching I realize just how much.

  28. That hashtag is funny on so many levels depending how you read it ;) Ugh to Madonna, just give it up, we don't want to see you naked! Sorry about the lack of appreciation. My bestie is a SLP at a school too and always gets the shaft on teacher appreciation day. I always give her a glass of wine and a smile on that day to make it up to her! Sending you that virtually.

  29. ugh madonna. no. and those shoes.. no.
sorry you didn't get any letters :( KC gets lots of fun stuff and i love when he passes it on to me, like the target gift card he got, lol.
i kept meaning to get a sunless tanner before Oaks, but now it's tomorrow and like you said.. be silly to try something new the day before something big!
thanks for linking up with Gretch and I as well.

  30. WHAT in the world is Madonna doing!!! I tried to stand in line at Chipotle on Tuesday but I was too hungry after my night class haha! #gradschoolproblems I confess that as a first year teacher I completely forgot about my students who go to speech and I'm having them make cards for her tomorrow!! You are so appreciated :)

  31. Omg those sandals are hideous! Who would wear those things?

What is madonna thinking? Defintiely trying to hard and trying to outdo Lady Gaga.

  32. I'm going to wedding this weekend too and pulled an old sunless tanner from the cupboard that I bought last year!! I was nervous that maybe the colour went wonky but I applied it and it was fine. Have fun!
