Confessions and Hashtags

It's Thursday which means it's time to link up with some of my favorite ladies for some confessions!
I confess that....
....I saw a super cute outfit photo on Facebook, and without looking too closely went to click the link, only to realize that it was an outfit for toddlers #butitwasstillcute #kidshaveitsogood
.....If you couldn't tell by my post yesterday with the Old Navy and Loft sales this weekend (with free shipping) I went a little nuts! #oops
.....I'm a little annoyed that the weather went from Fall cool (50s and low 60s) to Summer heat (high 80s and 90s) with almost no in between. I love Spring and I'm bummed we missed out on the milder temps. I'm happy it's not raining though! #freezingtosweaty

.....when a coworker of mine asked if my husband and I were trying, and I shared that we have been, and then she said "you guys just need to relax" I responded with: "You know, that's the worst thing you can say to someone who is trying to get pregnant". I said it in a nice way, and then went on to explain to her how long we've been trying, and how even during the months that I'm not really stressing about this, it still doesn't happen. Maybe it made her feel awkward or uncomfortable, but so is sharing my sex life/pregnancy plan with a coworker. Another coworker who was there at the time (because she'd asked me with 6 other people around) texted me afterwards and commended me for standing up for myself and said I did it in a very good way. I think I educated her and I'm proud for standing up for myself, so it's a win. #infertility

.....I'm beyond excited for a 3 day weekend! #fireupthegrill

.....I can't believe that yesterday was 3 years since MG and I got engaged in Philly! My Facebook TimeHop was filled with photos of our engagement, and also my friend Bree's birthday (whose bday I can never forget since it's on this day!) #memories
.....I love finding new recipes that end up being huge successes! I made a new recipe on Monday (One Pot Broccoli Pesto Pasta--delicious) and I'm making another one tonight (chicken cakes). More yummies to share with you all! #yummyinmytummy

....when I saw that Kailyn and Javi (from Teen Mom2) are getting a divorce yesterday morning, I was really sad. I was seriously rooting for them, and it bums me out that they didn't make it work #tear

.....On Bachelorette, I feel like the producers made JoJo keep those drunken idiots around. Because if not, then what the hell is she even looking for? Especially after the drunk barging in on her personal interview? Ew. And Chad. I'm surprised his ego fits in that mansion. Sure he's hot, but his personality is putrid #drunkdrama
....hearing steel drums playing makes me immediately think of vacation #takemeaway

That's it for me today. What are YOU confessing??

  1. Yay for your 3 year engageaversary (not a word lol) I think you handled your co-worker tremendously and while other's might have exploded with rage, you were calm and collected! Brava love! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  2. You're making me want to buy ALL THE THINGS! ;) Good for you for educating your co-worker!!! Some people just don't know what to say and end up saying something insensitive and dumb. And yes to The Bachelorette! We were shocked she kept so many of them. #closethebar

  3. Aw, I remember them from Teen Mom! How sad! And I DVRd the Bachelorette but haven't seen it yet!

  4. Yay for speaking up for yourself! I know it is hard for people to know what to say, so to educate like you did probably benefited everyone who was in the room! :-)

  5. I think it's so great that you explained to your coworker what's going on! Sometimes it takes a lot more than just relaxing and she needs to know that! I heard the Kailyn/Javi rumour and I'm trying to stay optimistic that it's just a rumour! The last episode was so sad!

  6. I love the outfit for toddlers! I probably would have clicked on that link too because it's pretty cute. Happy 3 year engagement anniversary!

  7. Haha that outfit is super cute, I totally would have clicked on it too! And good for you for saying something to your coworker. That's a very personal question to ask so even if she did feel uncomfortable by your response maybe next time she'll realize how personal that question is and you educated her. And yes to a 3 day (well 4 for me) weekend! WOOHOO! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

  8. I have completely taken a double take with outfit photos too, and as a matter of fact I have actually bought several things at Gap Kids in the big size because they are just too cute!

  9. My toddler doesn't dress that well, but its cute. And so proud of you for standing up for you. Some people just need to learn to keep their mouths shut.

  10. Good for you for putting that coworker in her place. People let all sorts of sh*t fly out without thinking. Love you engagement photos! I know what you mean about the weather! It's gotten so hot here. Kind of love it tho. Can't wait to see how this season of the Bachelorette plays out.

  11. You handled your coworker perfectly! I read this post http://www.beautywithlily.com/2016/05/infertility-what-not-to-say.html?m=1
yesterday on things not to say to someone dealing with infertility! Xo

  12. You know I am so sad about Javi and Kail! Hopefully Chelsea and Cole can be the survivors of that group! I can totally see clicking on a toddler outfit - it looks like something I would buy, too!

  13. Good job with the inappropriate coworker questions!! And agreed about the weather...we're pushing 90 here today. However, I'll take it over the rain any day! Make today work, Rachel -CubicleCouture

  14. That's so sad about Kailyn and Javi getting a divorce! I was really rooting for them too, especially since they have a kid together and Isaac loves Javi so much! I didn't realize that pretty much everything at LOFT was on sale, so I definitely went a little crazy myself yesterday, and I want all my stuff to come in the mail like yesterday!

  16. I would TOTALLY wear that toddler outfit:) Proud of you for sticking up for yourself in a calm, mature manner. Hopefully that coworker will think twice before she says something that trite to someone else who may be dealing with infertility. #education

  17. Congrats on three years! Boo to the unsolicited advice. it is the worst. My best friend has similar struggles as you and it amazes me on how many people suddenly think they are fertility doctors around her. Much like all the unsolicited advice I get on dating at 36 from people who have been married since they were 23. SMH. Have a great long weekend!

  18. You are so lucky that you have pictures from your engagement! That's one thing that I wish we had, but my hubby did it when it was just the two of us and it was dark outside, so nobody would have been able to get any good pics anyway.

And good for you for standing up for yourself. Gosh, I just can't believe that people would actually say something like that.

  19. Good for you for not just brushing off your co-workers ignorant comment. So frustrating!

  20. When I saw that picture, I thought it was clothing for us as well. Toddlers have the best style. My girls have way more and better clothes than I do. Way to go on the fertility questioning. You stood up for yourself and you were still kind but to the point about it. Good for you. I am sad about Kailyn and Javi too. And loving the Bachelorette so far, but agree that they kept those drunks on for ratings.

  21. I can never pass up a good sale haha!

  22. Go you for how you handled your silly coworker! Awesome, assertive (and friendly) response. Old Navy continues to be a favorite and people are always shocked when I tell them something I'm wearing is from there ha. Bring on the long weekend for sure!

  23. Oh girl...we went from FREEZING to HOT within a week...it's been terrible! I'm so proud of you for standing up to your coworker! I wish I could do it when people tell us to relax...but I get so angry, I don't want to blow up and just keep my mouth shut.

  24. I also went a tad bit crazy on the Old Navy sale.. just so many good things! I think you handled your co-worker's comment really well! And yes, there are some guys I totally questioned Jojo keeping and agree it had to have been a producer call - all for the show I guess. -xx Leah || Chasing Texas

  25. good for you for standing up for yourself! Its hard sometimes and I have learned now to not even ask people if they are "trying" because truthfully, its none of my business. Maybe they don't want kids, or have been trying and struggling. If someone wants to tell me, they can! Still sending so many positive thoughts your way!

  26. Cute outfit but at a second glance the shoes are quite small. lol That's awesome you were able to handle the situation with your coworker well even though it triggers so many emotions. I hope you have a wonderful long weekend!

  27. Good for you for sticking up for yourself and doing so in a nice way girl!! I totally went to Loft today and went a bit crazy :)! I've resisted Old Navy because I will literally spend a small fortune there lol. Woohoo to happy engagement memories, love when Timehop knocks it out of the park :)!! I totally think Jojo had no choice but to keep the drunks there...Chad used to be hot and then he got all cocky and obnoxious and he lost a few points on the hotness scale. The season just looks SO good :)!

  28. Kids outfits are quickly becoming just as adorable as our own outfits, I've done the same thing numerous times! It's going to be another good/intense season of the Bachelorette! :) Xo, Stephanie
