Confessions, Hashtags and Gifs....Oh My!

It's that time of week where we confess all of our sins....or just silly things!
Are you ready to get a load off your chest?
I confess....

.....that I love tiny things. It really doesn't matter what it is, if it's tiny and cute, I love it. Case and point, I found a teeny tiny paperclip at work, and it's just sitting on my desk. Because what else can you do with a super tiny paperclip? #teenytiny

.....I need to find a good, comfy pair of flats for our trip this summer. I've been debating about Tieks, but just not sure they are worth the money. Are they really THAT comfortable? Do they have good support? Educate me, ladies who have them! #comfyfeet
......we started our next cycle of fertility treatments and scheduling the appointments and morning blood draws and ultrasounds around work are already kind of overwhelming me. I think I need to get back into meditating regularly to try and get past the stress #fertilityfun #om
{via}
......our HOA is the bane of my existence. After taking SIX WEEKS to get back to us on our windows, they approved everything, BUT they won't let us do our windows a floor at a time. It has to be each side of the house. Which totally throws off our entire plan (especially since the window company went ahead and ordered all of the windows for the ground floor--not our fault). The irony is that MG talked to the president of the HOA and told him our plan to which he said "Oh yeah, that shouldn't be a problem" #liarface
{via}
.....the HOA mix up (and the window company's boo boo on ordering the windows) has actually kind of worked out in our favor in that we're now basically getting the entire house worth of windows (17 in total) at cost. Which means paying more than we were going to spend, but we're getting ALL the windows done for almost half the price they were originally quoting us at. A bigger expense, but in the long run totally saved us money, and one more thing off of the home reno list #silverlining
{via} Thanks, Britt Britt
......the word "pamplemousse" was on my La Croix water and it totally made me laugh. It means "grapefruit" (and luckily they put it in parenthesis beneath the word), but saying "pamplemousse" is really fun. I feel so...sophisticated! haha #notreally
{via} My husband would love that I just used a Simpson's gif in here lol
.....our area is setting a record right now for the most days that it has rained, in a row. This is not a record that I'm interested in participating anymore. I draw the line at 14, and we're at 16 now....Go back to Seattle, rain...you're drunk! #rainraingoaway  #butforrealthough
{via}
....there are some bathrooms in my school with such bad lighting that I'm scared to look at myself in the mirrors because it makes me question whether or not I'm dying. #sickly
{via}
....I'm getting more and more annoyed that our friends' wedding is costing us upwards of $600 in lodging ALONE, not to mention the two days off of work that we have to take because of the day of the wedding and the timing of the rehearsal. MG still hasn't bought his suit for the wedding, and will still need to give a gift. Looking at over $1,000. I'm happy to celebrate our friends, but this is getting SO expensive. Ugh. #moneydoesntgrowonourtrees
{via}
....I will never book another flight through Travelocity again. The "credit" that we got back on our Aruba flights ended up somehow costing us $400 out of pocket when we booked our annual trip/flights to Minnesota for October the other night(after being put on hold for over an hour). In addition to the flight cost which was more than we'd normally pay(usually $200 total). And we still have $500 just sitting there waiting to be used because of this nonsense. Never. Again. #thanksfornothing #stupidZika
....I was signing a document at work and randomly started to sign my maiden name. It's only been 2 years....I'll blame it on muscle memory lol #whoops!

And with that, I'll leave you for today. What are some of your confessions this week?

  1. I've heard great things about Tieks and I'm planning on getting a pair this fall! If you end up getting one this summer, then I'd love to hear your thoughts. And I can't believe your friend's wedding is costing you that much to attend and you're not even in it! I would have to peace out on that one and stay at home!!
    I hope you have a great Thursday! Praying for you!

  2. Well you know how I feel about the wedding - just crazy!! Oh the credit with travelocity is so annoying...even worse having to spend an entire hour on the phone/waiting!! But at least it's almost the weekend! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  4. I plan on getting a pair of tieks. I've been watching eBay for new pairs as well.

    Yes, I'm so over the weather here. Here's hoping Richmond is better(I need sun!!). Lol.

    Hope you have s good weekend!

  5. Yes to Tieks, they are expensive but the most comfortable flats. Just make sure you don't try to wear them during your 5 weeks of rain up there. I ruined a pair by getting caught in the rain and the smell......it was heartbreaking.

  6. Ugh, HOA's are the worst! Ours is a pain in the butt, too. I'm glad y'all are getting all new windows (and I'm kind of jealous--you know you're an adult when…). And um, my mom sent me a card for Mother's Day and addressed it to me and my maiden name. Hilarious!

  7. Ugh I hate HOA's. At least it ended up working out in your favor though!! And that sucks about the rain. 16 days in a row?! I wouldn't want to do anything. I hate looking into the mirrors at some places... such horrible lighting ugh! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

  8. thats insane about the windows. just silly. ok tieks. i have 4 pairs. and i bought my mom a pair. they are the BEST flats ever and clearly worth it bc i've bought so many over the years. i think i've had my first pair for like 4 years now. traveled to europe and back and still good. plus they are the BEST for travel. they take up zero space. do it!

  9. New Windows changed the game in our renovation, so I'm excited for you!! And you gotta deal!!!!! Gulp to the wedding cost... That is getting crazy... and BOOOOOO to travelocity. That is so annoying.

  10. Get the Tieks, you will then want them in every color. HOA sucks I know, but yay windows?! How does a credit cost you? I mean come on! And what wedding is this? And this one this weekend was going to cost that much until I put my foot down and said we will not be staying at hotel that costs $379 a night (at the discount rate). Add in the babysitter we're paying to keep E, the cost to rent the dress... I get ya I totally get you. prayers for the fertility stuff. I know its cumbersome and time consuming and not fun. love you.

  11. Umm that wedding expense is ridiculous! It is amazing how much they set you back...When are you coming to MN? I'm a MN gal:) Those Tieks look interesting, never heard of them but off to check them out! I love my hot pink Sketcher Go Walks!

  12. I'd be curious to hear about your experience with Tieks- I've had the same reservations about spending the money, but they are so dang cute!

    There are mirrors like that in my office too! We have one bathroom in particular where the mirrors make your skin look YELLOW. Definitely not a confidence booster on a Monday morning!

  13. Your HOA situation sounds highly frustrating! Glad you're getting a deal on the windows though :) Girl. We can totally wedding rant to each other. I'm in one in October that I'll be lucky to only spend $1,000 on plus because the rehearsal is on Thursday I have to take an extra day off work too. So frustrating! I tried to be so understanding and make our wedding weekend as easy on people as possible so it drives me crazy when people make it crazy expensive/demanding of time we just don't have!

  14. I hate HOAs.

    I do not think Tieks are supportive and I do not think they are worth the money. If you have any foot issues whatsoever they aren't for you. If you don't, then they might be. I won't suffer comfort for fashion especially when I'm doing a lot of walking.

  15. Ugh, what a pain! HOA's are the worst. I hope that all works out. And thinking of you all during your fertility journey xx

  16. My favorite flats are Cole Haan Nike Air Monica. They no longer partner with Nike anymore, so you have to look for them at Nordstrom Rack or amazon. They are THE BEST (and I never find flats to be comfy! No break in time necessary!). Sorry about the rain and HOA but YEA for new windows!! Good luck with this round of treatment... sending good vibes your way! Make today work, Rachel -CubicleCouture

  17. Weddings are crazy expensive! I've been doing everything I can to keep costs down for my bridesmaids because I have been one so many times and it adds up, but the CRAZY thing is that we're attending two weddings this summer too, and the costs are adding up for those. Sheesh!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Oh girl, your HOA was getting on my last nerve, thank god they finally approved it and y'all are getting more than you expected at a better price! Ugh about the rain, it's been rainy and cold here too, but not for 16 days...bye rain! I've never used Travelocity, but now won't ever plan on using it...it's not your fault there's Zika! Happy Friday eve!

  19. Pamplemousse is my favorite hahah. My mom and I are both obsesssssed with tiny things! I saw the cutest mini cast iron skillet (like perfect for one egg maybe) and had to have it, just because it's tiny. The collection never ends, right!? Good luck with your next round of treatment, lady! xx

  20. I will not buy Tieks. A hundred bucks for flats!? Um no. Man, HOAs really blow. Nick and I purposely did NOT look for home with an HOA. So glad we're out of the wedding phase age. They do get expensive!!

  21. My roommate has 2 pairs of Tieks and she LOVES them. She wore them pretty much everyday of our 2 weeks in Europe and her feet didn't bother her once. They are pricey but she has worn her's to the bone so I may be investing in a pair soon. Like I said she has two now and both pairs she got go with just about anything she wears. I personally think they're worth the cost in the long run.

    I'm in the same boat with weddings. I have a wedding I'm going to in Florida next week and even with 4 other people staying in the room it's still going to cost each of us about $250. Plus a shuttle/rental car, plus meals, AND a gift...bah so expensive for just 3 days. And like you said, I am more than happy to celebrate their marriage but man o man.

  22. HOA is super frustrating at times! We once got a ticket for leaving our trash bin on the side of our garage the night we moved in! We had a garage full of boxes and thought nothing of it. We never did that again! On a brighter note, yay for your windows! I love that gif of the baby - so funny! -xx Leah || Chasing Texas

  23. I just got a pair of tieks for Mother's Day. I work in an elementary school as an SLP, so I'm on my feet all day long. So far... all good! No blisters and only a slight spot where they are rubbing a tiny bit (but I think it is more from being folded in the box when they arrive!). Overall, I'm loving them!

  24. I'm debating getting a pair of Tieks for our trip to Europe too! I've heard such amazing things about them, and I definitely need a pair of flats that will give me enough support with all the walking that we'll be doing. That sucks about your windows, but that's definitely the silver lining in the whole process, being able to get all your windows done at cost!

  25. That is way too much rain. We had 4 days of it and I was getting annoyed. I have a pair of Tieks and I love them. They are comfy, fold up easy, but they are costly. I have worn them on various work trips and my feet never hurt. Worth it. The mirrors at my work bathroom are awful. I always think I look like shit in them and then I see myself in other mirrors and think I don't look that bad.

  26. I totally feel you on the wedding stuff. It's gotten to a point where people's expectations are so outrageous these days, I honestly don't care if I'm part of another wedding or not. For real. I mean with out of town bachelor/bachelorette parties, multiple showers requiring gifts, lodging for wedding weekends, and more gifts for the wedding itself, it's just ridiculous.

    Hoping the rain clears up quick and some sunshine heads your way soon!:)

  30. You're cracking me up. Love the picture with her boots full of rain but so true, I could not do that much rain. I don't know how people in Seattle live. I need sunshine and beaches in my life. The bathroom lighting comment, LOL, I think the same thing sometimes. I'm like, "Oh my gosh. I look like death! Is this real life?!" Any street reliever sounds much needed at this point for you, what about a full body massage? Those can be so relaxing.

  31. Travel sites are totally a pain in the butt when you have to cancel! I try to just book the hotel on the site and do the airlines direct on the corporate site. So, I own two pair of Tieks. I love them! But I don't love them. I don't know how to explain it. I love them because they are great quality, fold up and come in marvelous colors. I don't love them because there really is absolutely no support. For some people that's okay, but for a lot it's not. I can wear them to work, to the grocery, etc but I would NEVER wear them on a trip to Europe or anywhere that walking is going to be the main focus! I do think they are a great investment piece and you could take them with you on your trip to wear for the evening or to grab drinks or something! I will say they are 10x better than Tory flats!

  32. About the Tieks...I got a pair for Christmas, and at first I questioned if they were worth the hefty price. That lasted about a week...and then these heavenly shoes formed to my feet and I pretty much haven't taken them off since. I was once a girl who NEVER wore flats...but my Tieks have become my BFF! #WorthTheInvestment
