Friday Faves

It's Friday, which got here a whole lot quicker than normal with that glorious extra day off of work on Monday!
Let's talk about some faves from this week!
{1}School Pride
There is a student at my school who is battling brain cancer, and the family is facing financial struggles in addition to this already awful situation. Our school staff and families have pulled together and donated food, money, gift cards, etc to the family in the past couple of months. Recently in addition to that, our entire school--staff and all students(over 800 kids)--are all rocking stretch bracelets that say "_____'s Warriors" (with ____ being his actual name) to show support for our little guy who is fighting like a champ. I love that I work at a place that pulls together when it's needed most.

{2}Friendship and Thoughtfulness
My super sweet friend Jess was so incredibly thoughtful and sent me this gorgeous rose gold bracelet as a surprise. I got it last weekend and immediately loved it and the sweet note she wrote me. It's a great reminder for me to believe, even when I'm at a low point, that one day we'll be a mom and dad to a beautiful little baby. I do believe. Thank you again, Jess. I'm still touched at your thoughtfulness and I am truly blessed to get to call you my friend.

{3}  New Windows!
Ok I know you're probably tired of hearing about our windows (I'm kind of tired of talking about them), but they are in, and done, and GORGEOUS! The outside of our house looks SO much better, and within the first 12 hours of having them in, we've been able to keep the thermostat 3-4 degrees higher because the house is keeping the cool in so much better. HUGE win! Now, if only a magic fairy would come along and pay for them in full...lol

{4} Baby Bacehlorette
Have you guys seen Jimmy Kimmels' Baby Bachelorette? If not, you HAVE to! Christy sent it to me earlier this week, knowing I have a love of all things Bachelor/ette, and it is SO cute. Check it out here if you haven't seen it.
{5} Funnies
When you get a massive watermelon from Costco for $5 and want to devour the whole thing
{via}
When your husband is out of town, but you've already watched all of your shows on the DVR
{via}
When you realize that The Hills started 10 years ago and you're reminded just how old you are
{via}
When a d-bag offers his "sound advice"
{via}
How you'd like to react to said d-bag:

And on that happy note, I leave you to enjoy the rest of your Friday and weekend! Catch ya next week, lovies!

  5. That is so wonderful that everyone is being so supportive and trying to help out at your school. Many thoughts and prayers to their family. Jimmy Kimmle's Baby Bachelorette is one of his best segments ever. All that adorable-ness was almost too much to handle.

  16. I have tears in my after reading this post. My thoughts and prayers are with that sweet boy. It is so wonderful how the how school came together. What a little champ he is. One of my sister's surgeon heads up the Neuro-Oncology at MGH and we think the world of him. He saved her life (along with all her other drs) and he is one of kindest doctors I have ever met. I truly believe that you and MG will one day be parents. It will happen. What a sweet friend you have. You do have to believe. Hope you have a great weekend.

  23. Oh how I hate to hear about that little boy with brain cancer. I just don't understand why stuff like that happens. I know we're not supposed to question it, but it sure is hard not to when it happens to someone so young and innocent.

    I have not seen Baby Bachelor, but I will be tuning in as soon as I get home! I bet it's a HOOT!

  28. I take TV preparation before my husband goes out of town very very seriously. I go on sprees rating things on hulu and netflix to get good recommendations. I mean like...I spend a good 45 minutes adding things to my queue and rating things. I'm only a little embarrassed by that.
