What's Hap-"Pinning" Wednesday {#43}

Since Monday was a holiday, and yesterday started with MG's car being broken into, I just didn't have the energy to post yesterday, so I'm here today to recap my Memorial Day weekend with you all for What's Hap-"Pinning" Wednesday!
My weekend highlights included:
~getting out of work a bit early on Friday afternoon and having my Old Navy purchases arrive!
~A sushi date night out and movie in with MG on Friday night
~started the morning off early at Home Depot to look at tile for our downstairs bathroom and get a replacement light fixture for our hallway. Then we went to two more tile places. Because that's the kind of stuff you do on the weekends when you own a house lol
~an afternoon cookout at our friends' place with drinks and yummy food! (I brought my yummy feta dip which was a hit). I didn't have my phone with me so no pictures were taken.

~Had an impromptu meet up with our friends (who were also at the cook out) afterwards for some small plates and more time to catch up on a personal level at one of our favorite spots to go.

~Flaming cheese (saganaki) was ordered and devoured
(it may not look that great here but trust me, it's delicious!!)

~Sunday morning we decided not to go up to Philly as we had planned since we saw the hurricane was supposed to hit up there on Monday and didn't want to get stuck in all MDW traffic AND hurricane traffic so we scrapped the idea

~Did a 5 mile walk across the bridge from VA into MD by National Harbor. We almost made it the whole way into the harbor, but it was starting to get really hot so we turned around. Next time maybe!

~stopped by Lowes to look at their bathroom vanities and tile selections

~Picked up some flowers for our flower pot by our front door to brighten up the space a bit. Also, our rose bushes are taking off (the yellow one is catching up this week)!
~Had lunch with our friends and saw XMen which was pretty good--if you like the Xmen movies, you'll like this one I think!

~We decided to pick up these delicious jalapeno and Monterrey Jack cheese burgers from Harris Teeter (a grocery store by us) and have a little cook out at home

~Relaxed on the deck for a bit before the skies decided to open up
~MG was a trooper and was a dedicated grill master and we ended up having a really yummy dinner with home made fries and corn on the cob. And those burgers. Oh they are the best!
~And of course no weekend is complete without some Cooper snuggles!! :)

That was it for my long weekend! And right now, as you read this, we are getting the new windows installed in our house...FINALLY!!! (after only taking over 2 months to get done).
Now it's your turn to link up with Jessi and I to share what's hap-"pinning" with you!

  7. Happy window day. FINALLY!

It actually didn't rain much here Sunday and Monday, but the traffic was BANANAS. I came home from the shore Sunday and people who came home Monday sat for five plus hours.

  9. WHO freaking does that kind of stuff?!? So sorry - that is such a bummer that people ruin other people's days by breaking into their things. Ugh. Makes me so mad. Hope MG didn't lose anything too valuable. LOVE your Old Navy haul - I had my eye on that pom pom tank in black, but by the time I sat down to order it, it had sold out. Such a bummer! Happy Wednesday, sweet Jenn!

  14. A busy weekend and ohhhh the joys of owning a home! Always projects to be done. I was in the attic last weekend and accidentally fell through the sheetrock like you see in movies... yep. So next home project is fixing our ceiling. My husband was less than happy with me -_-

  24. I'm so sorry MG's car was broken into!!! that happened to me a few years ago and it's so violating and scary. Not to mention the headache of getting the insurance claim filed and such... stupid mean people who steal!!! I'm glad you guys ended up having a nice weekend, and I am totally with you on the home-owner's weekend... we spend ours going to Home Depot for bark dust and such. ha. PS- I work for Harris Teeter's corporate company.... glad you guys like shopping there!!

  28. Ugh, sorry to hear that MG's car was broken into. Why are people such turds?? And also, next time he has a second, send the grill master our way. My hubs could use some grilling lessons. We've had a grill for approximately 9 years and we've never touched it. #WishIWasJoking
