Hey friends! I need your help in the form of recommendations!
It's been 5 years since I've been to San Diego, and even then, I was there for a work thing so I didn't get to do a ton around the city. If you've been and have any recs for must-see places, restaurants, sites, etc send them my way pretty please!!

Go to the zoo! I wanted to go so bad when I was there for work last year, but didn't make it!
ReplyDeleteGo to La Jolla and have lunch at George's! The best shrimp & fish tacos! We stayed at L'Auberge Del Mar & it was one of our favorite Ever!

Visit La Jolla Cove to see the sea lions and kayaking there was a lot of fun too! Also if you have the time drive out to Cabrillo National Monument and spend the morning exploring the tide pools. It's so cool!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the zoo-- it's all I can remember from a trip a long long time ago but it's a great zoo!!
ReplyDeleteWe headed out to Del Mar to watch the sunset and ate at Jakes the last time I visited...the mac & cheese stuffed meatball was to die for. We almost always eat one breakfast at Cafe 222 downtown as well. Coronado is a nice place to go explore too.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. I love San Diego. There was a place in Pacific Beach called the Big Squeeze and they have the best acai bowls. I would always get a large one and it was the perfect meal. Love La Jolla. My friends lived there and it is beautiful. The gas lamp area has a lot of good food. Just avoid it at night because it get busy with the club scene. Coranado Island has some amazing mexican food on it.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely hit the zoo! It's amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love SeaPort Village for shopping and eating.. it's right on the water too!!! Full of cute shops and cafes.
ReplyDeleteLong time blog reader here - don't comment much, but I live in San Diego so can give some great recommendations for my wonderful city! First off - definitely go to the Hotel Del Coronado and see all of their Christmas lights and decorations - plus you can ice skate while looking out at the ocean. Next you must go to Liberty Station and try out the Public Market - Tons of different restaurants and booths to eat and shop from. PB and La Jolla are both great but can be pretty touristy but if you have never been, definitely worth checking out - especially the seals and sea lions at La Jolla Cove Children's Pool. My favorite beach town is Ocean Beach (OB) which is a less touristy, hippie beach town with a cool, laid-back funky vibe. Here you can walk down the Pier and check out the awesome leaning Christmas tree. Eat at Hodads for their famous burgers and also check out OB Noodle House - best PHO ever!! North Park is a fun hipster neighborhood close to downtown with tons of cute boutique shops and foodie restaurants. My favorite places are Alexander’s, Waypoint Public, Madison on Park and the Smoking Goat. Ok I could keep going but I will leave you with these or else this will be a whole book :)
