Chilly Weekending

Happy Monday, friends and I hope that you were able to stay warm this weekend! Temps by us dipped into the teens this weekend with wind, so it was definitely a chilly one, in addition to getting our first snow!

Despite the cold, the weekend was still filled with highlights:

~Friday casual date night at Chuy's since I was craving Mexican food (shocker haha), followed by a lazy night in
~Sleeping for 10+ hours (being back at work obviously took its toll!)

~Had to drive out to Fairfax to pick up a part for my car that the dealership took forever to get done, and in the middle of that drive, the snow started to fall and stick. On the way home I discovered that during my last oil change with this dealership they apparently never filled up my wiper fluid and I had none, so I had a panicky traffic-filled, and blurry window drive home. #nevergoingbackthere
just the beginning of the flakes...
~Lots of Cooper cuddles while MG was out watching the JMU game with his college friends
~Went to one of the friends' houses for a bit once the game was over and got to catch up with everyone for a bit before heading to my principals after-holidays party.
Got in a picture with my friend who is pregnant and due right around when I am (and our other friend who tolerated all of the preggo talk lol)
~Had pancakes on Sunday morning, then ran errands (literally ran into and out of the stores because it was so windy and cold)

~Went on the hunt for a new dining room table with no success

~Had our neighbors offer us their baby jumper which was in almost perfect condition--score for nice neighbors who have kids outgrowing their stuff (and one less thing to put on the registry!)
~Tried out a new recipe which was pretty tasty and healthy--twice baked taco sweet potatoes in the crock pot (will be sharing soon)
~Watched the Golden Globes mainly because of Jimmy Fallon and then made my way up to bed to rest up for the full week ahead!

Hoping your weekend was warm (or at least filled with cuddles) and fun!

  1. I can't wait for you to share that recipe because it looked really good when you shared that picture on social media! Good luck finding a dining room table--it took me months before I finally made a decision haha! Happy Monday!

  3. This weekend was brutal! Sorry to hear about the dealership; I have a feeling I know which one you are talking about and I wholeheartedly agree! Hope you stay warm.

  4. No windshield washer fluid!? I would have been panicking as well! Those potatoes look super yummy! I was up way too late watching the globes since I recorded and watched when the kiddos went to bed. I wish they showed more of Jimmy hosting, he seemed to barely be there but I guess that's how it always is.

  5. Hahaha I love that you've been on such a Mexican kick during your pregnancy. I'm always on Mexican kick but I don't have an excuse haha! And I can't believe they didn't refill your windshield washer fluid?! That's insane. And scary! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

  9. Now you have me wanting Mexican - what a great way to start off the weekend! Love the Cooper cuddles - I always try to get Stella to lay near my feet or on me when it's this cold!

  12. Sounds like a good mix of socializing and relaxing! That was so nice of your neighbors. I've never been to Chuy's but my brother can make their dip and makes it for me every once in a while and I could eat the whole bowl!

  14. Dining room tables are tough. I like mine but want new chairs.

I think I should put mexican pizza on my menu next week.

  15. Oh gosh, those sweet potatoes look so yummy! I will have to try those sometime! Sweet potatoes are the one veggie that BOTH of our kids will actually eat! Ha!

  16. Man it seemed like everyone had a cold front this weekend, we dipped down into the 20's and I was over it! Sounds like a great weekend, minus the windshield debacle, I've gone through that and it was so scary! That recipe sounds so yummy!!

  22. You look awesome mama and it's so nice to get some hand-me-down baby equipment. Those sweet potatoes look amazing. Is that from the new skinny taste cookbook???

  23. taco sweet potatoes?! brilliant. can't wait for the recipe. how cool of your neighbours to give you baby stuff!

  24. That's exactly why I watched the Golden Globes. I haven't seen any of the movies nominated (save for Deadpool! lol) so it was kinda of boring show for me. Save for the TV awards. Those I was happy with. We had a really chilly weekend here too but it was weird because it was bright and not a cloud in the sky and yet it didn't get about like 30 all day. YAY for Chuy's and free baby gear! :)

  25. Definitely lucky to have awesome neighbors and get the new jumper for baby girl cause I know those come in handy! I love Chuy's to get my Mexican fux and the prices are so reasonable.

  26. I so wish I would have had someone to give me used baby items, I would have gladly taken them!! Instead I have been the one giving the items so that's good too! I would love to have that recipe, it looks yummy!!
