Weekending: Old Year/New Year

Happy New Year friends!! Hoping your 2017 has been off to a great start so far!
I actually spent a lot of time away from my phone, especially on NYE, so I don't have a ton of photos to share, but still a bunch of highlights.

My weekend highlights included:

~Being home with MG all day on Friday because he had a case of the man flu (aka sniffles); laziness ensued all afternoon

~Was semi productive getting the nursery cleaned out of all of our junk and getting it prepped for painting

~Finally finished the book I've been trudging through for the last month and started another one by Marcia Clark which is already moving a lot faster

~Watching way too many episodes of The OA (it's so bad it's good?) through the day and the evening
{via}
~Tried out Cava Grille for dinner which is like a mediterranean Chipotle and it was SO good--will definitely be going back there a ton in the future

~Had yummy breakfasts prepared by MG
~Had plans on Saturday morning to go to Quantico to visit my dad's grave but realized it was closed for New Year's Eve so we went to Home Depot and got all of our paint supplies instead

~Painted the room Saturday (the light gray, Gentle Rain, that we've used in other rooms in the house)--I helped a bit, but MG took over more than usual so I didn't get exposed to too many fumes; measured the wall for our accent wall of white stripes

~Got ready for my friends' 40th birthday party where we spent over 3 hours with our good friends (and everyone seemed to have a husband with the man flu lol)

~Around 10:15 we headed to our other couple friends' house to chill and relax with them and our other favorite couple friends. The 6 of us enjoyed drinks (me with sparkling cider), lots of laughs, and kisses and hugs at midnight. And then somehow managed to stay there until almost 2 am.
~Woke up Sunday morning feeling super tired and slowly got our act together to do errands for the week, and took a bump photo for the week

~Taped off the nursery for the stripe painting--was super nervous about getting this right but the few hours it took to get this done was well worth it
~Met up with another couple friend of ours for dinner at a Thai place on Sunday night--we haven't seen these two in a while so it was nice to catch up.

Hoping your new year has already been off to a good start!

  1. I wish I lived in an area that had access to good food! If we want good food, we have to drive 20 minutes or for even better food either 35 minutes or an hour a different way. I would love a Mediterranean version of chipotle! The nursery walls look great! Hope you have a great Monday! When do you have to go back?

  12. I'm curious about what book took you so long to get through. I think we just let The OA play while we read/played around online. I don't remember the end at all. It got real weird, real quick.
Most of my house is painted gray and I love it, so good choice!
