WHW {#74}: Babymooning Part 1

Happy first What's Hap-"Pinning" Wednesday of 2017!
I thought I'd share with you days 1 and 2 of MG's and my babymoon to San Diego right before Christmas.

MG and I were up super early in the morning on Monday to catch our 5:30 flight. We rode first class for both legs of our flight which meant we had some yummy breakfast and MG enjoyed the alcohol. Luckily with the time difference between PA and Cali, we arrived in Cali around 10:30am and had the whole day ahead of us.

MG and I were lucky enough to be staying at a family friends' vacation house on Coronado, who also let us use their  mini cooper while we were there (seriously, we lucked out big time) so we cabbed it to their house, dropped our bags, and explored which included soaking up the sun and warmth (mid 70's)
After we changed, we decided to walk down to the beach to see how close it was, and it was close!

We walked around and explored Coronado for a while, grabbed some snacks, scoped out our breakfast place for the next morning and then drove around San Diego. We checked out a local outdoor mall and did some last minute Christmas shopping while walking around in the gorgeous weather.
After heading home and showering, we headed back out to watch the sun set which was gorgeous.

And then we grabbed some yummy Mexican food for dinner at Miguel's which came with chips and queso (which we stuffed ourselves on haha)
We made our way back to the house and had a very relaxed evening in since we were still adjusting to the time difference and having been up so early that day.

The next morning we got up and headed to Clayton's for breakfast which is this super cute 50's style diner that had delicious breakfast foods, a juke box, and a wrap around counter!
Then we took the mini to Torrey Pines for a 5 mile hike which provided us with a lot of beautiful views and overlooks
The bump on a hike :)

Since we were sort of close, we drove over to La Jolla to check it out and got to see the sea lions at the cove before grabbing an insanely delicious lunch at Puesto (bring on the Mexican food!)
La Jolla is definitely gorgeous and fancy shmancy and it was fun to explore after lunch (and walk off our lunch).

We drove back to the house and relaxed around the fire pit, which became our afternoon routine, and then got ready for dinner in the Gas Lamp District at Meze Greek Fusion. We ordered the Fiery Feta Mac and Cheese--with bacon (our favorite dish), grilled calamari, greek tacos, and the meatballs.
Dinner was topped off with dessert because when you're not drinking, you get dessert :)
We got the Milopita which was basically apple pie in Phyllo dough--aaaaahhhmazing.
We rolled ourselves home and lounged on the couch for a bit before heading to bed after a long day of exploring and eating :)

That's it for today! I'll recap the last two days of our trip in another post so this one doesn't get too picture heavy.
Now it's your turn to link up and share what's hap-"pinning" with you!
