Happy What's Hap-"Pinning" Wednesday, friends!
Reading ...
Just One Day by Gayle Forman--only a few pages in, but it had really good reviews on Goodreads, so I'm hoping this is a winner! Check out my post yesterday to find out the other books I've been reading.
Watching ...
The new season of The Bachelor but, you guys, I can almost not take it. There's like 1-2 girls that I don't mind on the show and the rest of them are super stupid. It was slightly painful watching on Monday. Plus, all of the redemption that Nick had from me towards the end of Kaitlyn's season and into BIP is kind of gone when he gave Corinne the rose on the group date after she took her top off, interrupted 3 girls for time to talk to him and was a general B.

Another example of the stupidity: "You know how you like talk on one topic and stick to that topic?.....Yeah I find that really attractive"....oh...my....God...I can't.
I'll give it another week, but I'm not sure I can hang in for the whole season this time.

lots of Mexican or Mexican-like flavors recently. I was always a fan of Mexican before getting pregnant, and now it's just a decent excuse to get in that fill even more haha. The taco twice baked sweet potatoes on Sunday were delicious (and nutritious), and we have Mexican Quinoa on the docket along with some chili from Chrissy Tiegen's book Cravings (even though that's not technically Mexican, I feel like I put the same toppings on that as I do Mexican so it's in the same realm haha)

Looking forward to ...
having 2 couple friends over for a little informal dinner party on Friday night. It's been a bit since we had friends over for dinner, and the time for that will probably be nil once we have a kid, so we're looking forward to it. On the menu? My mediterranean pasta bake which is always a crowd pleaser.
Wishing...
that next week's 3 day work week with MLK day on Monday and having off for Inaguration (blech) on Friday gets here soon--these full work weeks are for the birds lol
Enjoying ...
Enjoying ...
all of my students' reactions when I've told them or had them figure out that I'm pregnant (I played Hangman with the message "Mrs. G is having a baby!" with the ones who can read). The reactions have been pretty entertaining from squealing in my 5th grade girls group to boys who looked shocked, and another group who accusingly asked me "How long have you been keeping this from us???" haha
Drinking...
lots of water still, and coffee on the weekends. Trying not to get baby girl addicted to caffeine so early on!
Loving....
that MG finally felt baby girl's movements and kicks the other night. Every time she was moving around, and I would tell him to feel, she would stop (tricky little thing!) They're stronger to me since I can feel them on the inside and the outside, but I was so glad he was finally able to feel her moving around.
Wanting ...
the call with our potential newborn photographer to go well today. She was recommended to us by friends who used her for their newborn photos and oh my word, were they cute! Still, the cost of newborn photos is mind boggling (like a kick in the jimmies), but we'll see what we come up with!
Wearing ...
Layers and layers and layers the last 4+ days as the temps have either been below freezing or just barely above it. Somehow, though, temps are supposed to be in the mid 50s today and in the 60's tomorrow. Mother Nature is obviously having a bipolar moment.

Grateful For...
having at least 4 other friends who are pregnant and due around the same time, going through this together with. It's nice having people who relate to what I'm going through and experiencing (and freaking out about haha).
Plus, having friends who have already been through it that I can turn to and ask all of my millions of questions is a HUGE help too!
Now it's your turn to link up with Jessi and I to share what's hap-"pinning" with you!

Aww I can only imagine how happy MG was to finally feel the little kicks! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteMike still can't feel the kicks... he always gets frustrated and pulls his hand away right. when. they. kick! GRR! Impatient one he is! And yes-- newborn photography is crazy expensive! Are you doing delivery photos or straight newborn photos? XOXO, R
ReplyDeleteHow exciting that MG felt baby girl moving and grooving! And ugh I can't take Corrine, I have a feeling Nick will wake up soon and see through her. Girlfriend won't last forever! :-P

Oh my goodness I can't imagine with the Bachelor this season. It must be a train wreck. That will be the only reason I tune in. I dislike Nick. He seems like a creep and shallow. I don't believe for one second he wants to find a monogamous relationship. Bless you for trying!
ReplyDeleteThis Bachelor season is killing me too. These girls are just trashy!! It's kind of killing what little integrity the show had left in my opinion. That pasta looks delish!! I'm pretty jealous you get off for the inauguration and MLK day! We don't have a work holiday until Memorial Day which makes this the longest stretch of the year!
ReplyDeleteAw feeling those tiny kicks is the best feeling ever! And I'm definitely like you in that I could eat Mexican for days!
ReplyDeleteAw so glad he got to feel the kicks, so sweet! Ugh the Bachelor, I watched it this week for the first time (I don't have cable so I catch what I can) and I was horrified. I love the caffeine and Mexican some e card, however change my caffeine to wine as a non pregnant lady! Halfway to the weekend and a short week yay!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty much over this season of the Bachelor after this week's episode. I'm beginning to think Nick just wants to fame and really doesn't care about actually finding a wife.
ReplyDeleteI haven't gotten to watch Monday nights episode yet but I am dying! I am not hearing good things :( I am in the same Mexican loving boat as you right now! My sisters boyfriend makes this taco dip: taco seasoning mixed into a container of sour cream, lay that down on a bake sheet, sprinkle tomatoes, salsa, cheese, lettuce, avocado over it and eat with chips. Super simple and so delish!
ReplyDeletei hope you like Just One Day! i really liked it, though it wasn't what i was expecting. the pasta bake looks delicious, and how awesome you have friends going through it with you. of my friends, they all either have kids (which is great!) or are 100% not having kids haha so i'm on my own when it comes time.
ReplyDeleteI have watched 2 seasons of the Bachelor and the women normally just drive me too crazy to watch it!
ReplyDeleteYay for baby kicks! Very exciting :)
I got caught up on the Bachelor last night and had to look up who won. If Corrine was going to win, there was no way I could continue watching. I cannot stand that girl. I was really annoyed with Nick too because of the same reasons you mentioned *eye roll* Strangely enough I LOVED Mexican food prior to getting pregnant and now I could live without it (I can't believe I just typed that out!). Yay for having friends who are due around the same time as you! I don't feel guilty only talking about pregnancy with the people who are also pregnant and want to do the same!
ReplyDeleteSo you are saying I am not missing anything with the Bachelor, fantastic!! With a toddler I just don't have the time to watch so it's good to know it's not great anyway. That's awesome that you have other friends who are pregnant at the same time. You will be able to bounce ideas off of each other when the babies are here.
ReplyDeleteUghhhhh, I'm so annoyed with the Bachelor. That girl is perhaps the worst of all the previous "villains." I really am starting (or maybe just hoping) to think that she's a producer plant, and therefore Nick has to keep her around for ratings. But come on... it's getting ridiculous. But how cute are your students!! I love those reactions. :)
ReplyDeleteUgh, I cannot deal with Corrine. She might be the most obnoxious girl ever to be on The Bachelor... and you know if she doesn't "win" this one then we'll see her again on Bachelor in Paradise. I can't handle it.
ReplyDeleteI've heard several other people say the same thing about The Bachelor!
ReplyDeleteI have already had to leave the room like 3 times while watching because I CAN'T HANDLE THE AWKWARDNESS.
ReplyDeleteI can't with the Bachelor. I want to murder everyone. I watched like two separate seasons of it.
ReplyDeleteAw I can imagine all the cute (and funny) reactions when the kids at school found out your having a baby and even more cute that MJ got to finally feel baby girl's movements. I'm sure that made it more of a reality for him and the beyond will only grow from here. xo
ReplyDeleteso glad he finally felt her kick!! Such an awesome feeling. Get all the fun times in now and friends and such. Boo for the cold... sending you some warm Texas heat vibes.
ReplyDeleteso nice to have friends around as a support system and just to be like "hey is this normal?" haha bc that'd be what i'd need. i seriously agree with you on the bachelor thing. it's not only a time suck it's just redic. but then again i think I've mostly watched in the past few seasons for the bachelor in paradise shenanigans haha. not sure how long i'll last

100% agree about the Bachelor, I gave it a shot but I think I'm dropping it! I have to try that Mediterranean pasta bake, it sounds amazing! So fun to have a few friends pregnant at the same time :-)

yes to all the mexican food! That pasta of yours...holy yum!
ReplyDeleteI hope your phone call went well with the photographer. My girls would move a lot and then when someone wanted to feel they would stop. It's like they know. Ha. I am kind of annoyed by The Bachelor too, but I love the drama, so I will stick around for longer. I hate Corrine though.
ReplyDeleteCorrine is so annoying. Her body language and manner of speaking is very child like, too.
