Thursday Randoms and Hashtags

Time for my list of Thursday random-ness and fun hashtags!

~I used my sunless foaming tanner the other night on my face to try and give myself a little something in the "not looking dead" Winter face category and just the little bit I did helped. I even noticed in the mirror the next morning and was like "wow, what happened?" and then remembered I'd used the tanner the day before. Miraculous!#bringonthefakesun
~No one told me about this whole peeing when you sneeze thing WHILE pregnant. So, for those of you not pregnant....keep in mind, this happens BEFORE the baby gets here. #thingstheydonttellyou
~I just saw one of my grad school friends had her baby 4 weeks early. And now I'm starting to hyperventilate. #aaaaahhhhh

~I had a parent dissent to the results of my testing, even though the results were very simple, and everyone in the meeting backed up what I found during testing, and what I shared. I've never, in the 10 years I've done this, had a parent dissent, and say they are going to appeal it. Especially when there is literally NOTHING to appeal since I followed our state guidelines and it is clear cut. If someone is so concerned, why don't they pursue things privately? She said at the end "this isn't anything against you guys"....but yeah, it kind of is... #Ifeelragey

~I teared up reading MG's Valentine's Day card to me on Valentine's Day. #sappy

~I eat peanut butter out of the jar with a spoon at work #dontjudgeme

~I know someone who uses insanely long hashtags and usually has spelling errors in it and it drives me nuts. Not only is it super hard to decipher in general, but with spelling errors, it's near impossible #mamafeelscrosseyed

~I have my glucose test tomorrow morning and am really hoping I pass. I had a friend who took it last week and failed, and then had to do the 3 hour test on Monday and said it was miserable (plus getting poked for blood 4 times doesn't help either) #letmepass

Keep your fingers crossed for me tomorrow morning please!! :)
Hope your Friday-Eve is a good one!

  1. Ugh parents--I have to make my recommendations today for next year's English placement and it drives me crazy when I recommend a child to take non-advanced English and the parent over rules me to put their kid in advanced because they think it's elite. Not like I've put a lot of thought into what I recommend for my students or anything...... Good luck today with your glucose test!

  2. Good luck with your testing. I've heard from lots of friends that it's not near as bad as you always hear - hopefully that is the case for you, too!

  4. Don't worry; 4 weeks is still 36 weeks and while that is a late pretermer and has its own set of complications, in the grand scheme of things-it will be ok. But yes, little things like sugars and eating are the issue.

Oh, and I talked to several of my friends who still work at Alex and asked if the "issues" that I was referring to have resolved. As far as they can see, things have improved drastically since I came and left. Which is good!!

Oh, and you don't have to publish this comment-I just haven't charged the iPad with my email on it, so I haven't been able to message you back about what I found out.

  5. I had a parent appeal last year. It was a trying process.

Also, school choice is a VERY real thing in our country. You can put your kid just about anywhere you want. I never understand why people don't just move to another school if they don't like what their current one is doing.

I took a glucose test a few years ago. I didn't mind it, actually lol.

  10. Good luck with the glucose test! I pee a little while I sneeze sometimes and I have no kids, I think it just happens to every lady, and no one warned me of that too!! What tanner do you use, I just broke a new one out and I don't like the coloring at all.

  11. Hope the glucose test goes well! I'm sure you'll be fine-- just don't have any carbs with breakfast (straight protein) and then you won't get any false positives. Fingers crossed! I have mine next Thursday. WHERE IS TIME GOING?! XOXO, R

  13. Peanut butter is the best! A lot of parents think their kids are perfect. It's really annoying. I understand you feeling upset!
