Book Blogger Hop!

Happy Friday, all!

This week I'm linking up for the first time to the Book Blogger Hop over at Crazy for Books!

Book Blogger Hop

This week's question is: “What’s the LONGEST book you’ve ever read?”

The longest book that I've read is probably World without End or Pillars of the Earth (I cant remember which of the two was longest).  They were both SUCH good books. They were over 1,000 pages, and took a bit to read, but it also lent itself to developing the characters and REALLY becoming invested in them, their lives, and their struggles. You were that much more into the events, and wanting things to go well for the characters! I loved these two books!

There are also the Harry Potter books which got progressively longer, but weren't really HARD reads (not that the other two were hard, but they were more adult).

  1. Pillars of the Earth is one of those books I've been meaning to take a closer look at through the years, but now the length seems just too daunting. Used to be that 1,000+ page novels were just the thing for me and now I'm reluctant to take a chance.

  5. I love discovering new books through these hops. I'm such a slow reader that something that's 1000 pages would probably take me weeks to read. And you're right about Harry Potter being long but not hard...those were books that, despite their length, I was able to read fairly quickly because they were so engaging. Happy Friday - and happy reading!

  8. I've been considering reading the Follet books but a friend of mine read the first and was extremely critical of it. It's at the back of my tr list now. Still interested to find out what it's like one day though.
