Oh, weekend, where did you go?

Happy Monday, bloggie loves! I dunno about you all, but I am seriously wondering where the weekend went!

A pic from when Crystal and
I were in the Bahamas ('09)
I didn't really actually DO a whole lot this weekend, but it still flew by. Friday I went home to see my parents and check on my dad. He's doing better. He had to go to the doctor yesterday because of fluid in his lungs which is making it hard for him to breathe. They gave him some medicine to help, so hopefully that works. *fingers crossed* Friday night I hung out with my buddy Crystal who I havent seen in quite some time (our schedules never seem to match up), but since I was in Maryland for the night, we were able to connect. It was really great catching up and spending a night in with an old friend.

Saturday I had planned to leave my parents house around noon but my dad asked me to run some errands with him. I was trying to help him out as much as possible (which helps my mom out since now that she is the "caregiver," she is really tired). And then I went with him for a "walk"...which surprised me. We made it two houses away from my parents' house before my dad needed to turn around and come back. I'm glad my dad is home, but it made me realize the major road of recovery ahead.

Saturday evening I went to MG's friend's bday party and had a ton of fun. We had a great time hanging out with everyone, and then we all made the mistake of moving the party from his friends' place to the bar. Where we proceeded to do shots for the girl's birthday. Lots of shots. Bad idea. MG's friends can drink, and I am realizing more and more that my little body  just can't hang (even when, in the moment, I think that I can).

So Sunday, which could be dubbed 'Hangover Sunday,' was filled with laying on the couch, sleeping, and not moving until about 3pm. Then we went to a friend's place and watched some of the football games (where my Skins continued to prove that they suck). After that, we stopped by Five Guys and I stuffed my face with a cheeseburger since I hadnt really eaten all day. And, it was glorious :) And the guy even threw in some fries, which I had'nt ordered. Score!

I'm pretty sure that cheeseburgers are the cure-all for everything. Except maybe, as I told my friend Trish, obesity. hehe.

Needless to say that by the time 930pm rolled around (which was really 1030 to my body), I was exhausted and made my way to the bed. Im pretty sure I fell asleep within 3 seconds of my head hitting the pillow.

I had some weird dreams last night, one of which involved being freaked out that a guy was creeping around outside of my parents' house with a flashlight. I have NO idea why this was in my head, but it was really freaky.

And now, we have Monday. Luckily I have some things to look forward to on the horizon like San Diego in a week and a half, the DC blogger meet-up Dec 11th, MG's 30th birthday on the 2nd, Thanksgiving....I have a feeling the rest of November is going to fly by!

Anyway, Im off to get some work done--I hope you all have great starts to the week!

  3. Sounds like your weekend was packed with fun, but busy! Five Guys is soooo good, and cheeseburgers and greasy food are such great cures for hangovers lol. Have a great day!
