Friday Post of Random Things

So, I know I already did a Friday's Fancies post, but there is a lot I wanted to blog about today that I know if I don't do today I will totally forget. And then you would miss out on all of this awesomeness. And that would be sad. I don't want you to be sad. Sooooo, let's get to it!

First of all, can we revel in the fact that it's my LAST day of work for THREE WHOLE GLORIOUS weeks. Yes, you can be jealous. I am incredibly happy about it, and the excitement is palpable throughout my school--I think the teachers are even more excited than the kiddos are!

What makes today better? Well, you remember my rant post about my stupid roommate yesterday? Well, let's just say karma is a B. When I was packing up my stuff for the weekend (MG and I are headed to Philly for a wedding, and he's picking me up from work today so I had to be all packed up), I overhear my roomie on the phone (and of course she's in her room, because that's what she does...comes home, goes into her room, shuts the door, and doesnt come out). And I hear "But, I've never been accused of plagiarism before!" followed by "...I don't know how I'm going to prove to them that I didn't. I mean, I can show them where I got the information from. And I guess I can tell them that if I was going to plagiarize, why didn't I copy MORE of the information".....at this point I really wanted to stay and listen but I had to take a load of crap down to my car. When I came back I heard, in a whiny voice, "Well, I called 15 times, so YEAH it was an emergency".....a pause...."Well, what if it HAD been an emergency?!?!?!" Despite REALLY wanting to stay and eavesdrop, I figured I would get caught if I did, so I left. But, Im very curious how this will turn out for her, since it's grad school...and her work is paying for her to go. Whoops! *throwing up a prayer that karma doesn't come back to get me for kind of finding this entertaining after all of her b*tchyness towards me*

Now, on to more kind things....If you ever need a pick-me-up, or just some really cute "awwww" moments, check out this site that has kids' answers to the question "What is Love?" A couple of my favorites include:

  • "Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs"--Chrissy, age 6 (I'm with Chrissy...if I'm sharing my french fries, Im definitely in love)
  • "Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen" --Bobby, age 7 (uhh, how freaking intelligent and heart-warming is THAT???)
  • Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day"--Mary Ann, age 4 (and thank goodness they do!)

And, can I say how nice it is to walk into work (today is a "jeans day" for us), and have a coworker say "I love that sweater. I want it!" and then have a 6th grade girl, almost immediately afterwards say, "I looooove that scarf. Can I wear it??" and then get a compliment on my boots a few minutes later. I didn't think I was wearing anything earth shattering today, but I'm glad to know that Im looking good while comfy! I apologize for the pic being in the bathroom...I just figured I'd take one so that you could actually see what I was talking about, and I didn't have a mirror in my office to use. (Hello toilet paper and trash can!)

I had something else that I meant to write about but I already forgot. See what I mean? Isn't this what happens when you get old? Crap....looks like I'm on board that train and it's pulling out of the station...lol

Anyway, I hope you all have FAB weekends! I'll be up in Philly with the boyfriend and the pup. Hopefully I'll have some fun pics from the weekend and the wedding to share with you when I return! Until then, stay classy! :)
