Do you like bacon? (I know, that was probably the dumbest question ever, right?) I LOVE bacon. And sausage. And thanks to my boyfriend I've also discovered the fattening delight of Taylor Pork Roll (have you heard of it? Have you tried it? Do it. You will thank me. Your waist line will not).
Anyway, I enjoy bacon. I love the smell of it, the taste of it. I love foods that come with it. However, I am a crispy bacon lover. I can't STAND wiggly, fatty pieces of bacon. I like mine crunchy and basically almost burned.
I love seeing all kinds of recipes and cooking, but if I see a recipe that requires me to COOK bacon, I'm out. I HATE dealing with grease splatters....it makes me jump and I end up just standing there running around in front of the stove like a dork. Do you hate cooking bacon in a frying pan, too?
Well, I have THE BEST solution for you. Ever.
Presto 05100 Microwave Bacon Cooker |
This thing is, legit, the bomb. You lay the pieces of bacon over the little folds on the plastic-y things, put the whole thing in the microwave and hit start. The grease drains off of the bacon into the black holder (making it slightly
I bought this for MG and I since we like to make some kind of breakfast together on the weekends and cleaning up after making bacon is such a pain. But, with this, you can cook the bacon to whatever perfection you would like--like it wiggly and fatty? Put it in for a bit, take it out and put the other pieces back in for some crispy ones.
The best part is, you can put it in the microwave, let it do it's thing while you finish making the other breakfast items (or food items) and then come back to it and it's all ready to go. And the best part...no running and jumping around the stove avoiding grease splatters, likean idiot me!
So, seriously, go get you one! It's only ~$13 on Amazon (and if you get $12 more of stuff, you can get free shipping! I ordered mine last Monday and got it on Wednesday!) Here's the link again in case you missed it above.

Happy Bacon'ing!
Oh how I do love Pork Roll. But I will tell you this is one Philly girl who will NEVER eat Scrapple, so don't let him talk you into it!!
ReplyDeleteit'ssssssssss BACON!!!
ReplyDeletesounds yummy!
I thought you were going to say you were going to BaconFest! My coworker goes every year, but I always manage to miss it. Plus it's like $150 for two people, and I'm a cheap ass. I could just buy a ton of bacon for that much money and eat it myself. I totally agree with rule #2 - I have yet to find a food that isn't vastly improved by bacon. I disagree with rule #5 - I cannot stomach chewy flaccid bacon. No way, no how!
ReplyDeleteI've been obsessed with bacon lately. As I'm typing this I'm making some now. And if this bacon maker will prevent me from having to look at bacon fat...I'm buying it! :) lol thanks for the review!
