My Recent Beauty Faves

I've been loving some beauty and body products lately, and since I get tons of tips and tricks from so many of you, I wanted to share my finds with ya!
Cuz if I love them, you probably will too!

Let me preface this by saying that I have thin hair. And I have baby hairs. Those annoying little baby hairs that like to stick up and say "hey girl, hey!" when you don't want them to. That's why three of these products revolve around hair. Anytime I find something that works with my hair, I feel like doing a happy dance. Sometimes I actually DO a happy dance. Don't judge me :)
On to my list of awesome stuff:

1. Herbal Essences Volumizing Mousse--it smells yummy, leaves my hair feeling light, but also helps me to style it out. I got this at CVS for $3.50 on sale.

2. St. Ives Timeless Skin Facial Moisturizer with Collagen Elastin. I'll admit, I saw this on Dr. Oz, and he touted it as one of the cheapest, but really good ways to moisturize your skin and get rid of wrinkles. I'm almost 30 (*gasp* Eek!) and have noticed some fine lines creeping up. But, since using this for 2 weeks straight (right after my shower), they've significantly minimized (I legit wish I had a before and after pic!). The jar is a decent size (10 oz) and you don't need much for your face/neck area. I see this lasting me many many months. If you had to buy one thing on my list, hands down, this would be it--It's never too early to start taking care of your skin! I got this on Amazon for $5.99. You've spent that much on coffee at Starbucks. Only this makes you pretty! Get it! :)

3. Olay Luscious Embrace Body Wash. I got this at Target for about $3.50 on a whim. I'm the girl who buys the Target brand (Up and Up) for body wash but decided to switch it up when I saw this. Probably because it's purple (I won't lie to you). But, people, it smells SO yummy and it makes my skin feel soft and moisturized which is important, especially in the winter. MG even commented after the first time that I used it that I smelled really nice. The smell stays on you for a while and it's lovely. Go check it out at Target, take a whiff, and see if you like it. I think you will.

4. Revlon Porcupine Round Brush. Purchased at CVS for $10.99 (but I've seen it for $9.99). I've been looking for a brush that had the combination of the spiky bristles, but also has the soft rounded "spokes"of a normal brush to help grab my hair when I'm drying it, etc. Before this brush I had two brushes on my counter, one spiky and one normal brush. And now, I only need this one. It's perfect for grabbing onto hair, but also getting through any tangles (painlessly), and the ceramic center helps with styling. I love everything about this brush and am ready to toss out my other two.
Who doesn't love extra counter space??

5. L'Oreal EverStyle smooth and shine Serum. I picked this up at CVS on a whim, before my Mexico trip, for $6.99. It's a bit pricey for such a tiny bottle, but a little goes a LONG way. I used it after blow drying my hair to tame some flyaway hairs (dang you, baby hairs!) and to keep my hair under control  in the semi-humid airs in Mexico. It worked like a charm and I've put this in my regular rotation when styling my hair.

So, for about $30 you can have shiny, pretty hair, glowing youthful skin, and a bodaaaay that's soft and yummy smelling. What's not to like??

Have you tried any of these products? If not, have I convinced you to?
Hopefully I've offered up something that you'll find necessary to add to your beauty regimen!

  2. I have the little baby hairs too - SO annoying! After drying and styling, I usually spritz a tiny bit of hair spray on my fingers and smooth those little fly-aways down. But they're still usually up and waving at me by the end of the day, so maybe that serum will work better! And definitely going to try out the lotion. I have an Olay one that I like for my face, but would love to have one that I can put on my neck - definitely want to avoid the whole turkey neck look as I get older!!! Thanks for all the suggestions!

  4. Okay I'm convinced-- I'm need that St. Ives moisturizer! I'm turning 30 this year too, but there's no need to look it! Lol. Seriously though, I love St. Ives products. I use their shea butter and oatmeal body moisturizer, and it is heavenly.
