More funny/cute kid stories

As most of you know, I work in an elementary school, so on a daily basis I'm around kids who provide me with lots of fun times, entertainment, and good stories to share. And since it's my first week back at work after Winter Break (minus the impromptu day off we got for today's arctic temps), I thought now would be a good time to share some!

Here are some of the latest gems....

One of my kiddos tells me "I tole my parents I'm sick of going to skeech"....perhaps her argument would be more valid if she said 'speech' instead of skeech....

{via} see? I didn't make that
up!
Another kid told me that over the weekend he lost a tooth. I asked if the tooth fairy came, and he said "Yes! And then I caught my dad trying to take the tooth fairy money from under my pillow!".....yep....Dad was trying to take it....definitely wasn't putting it in there himself :)
~~~~
Then there was the day I walked by a 3rd of 4th grade boy who was wearing a shirt with the word BIMBO written across it....I later came to find out that this is apparently a Soccer brand. Which is still weird. Especially when you see a kid wearing it.
When playing Candy Land with a 5 year old, she goes "If I get one Red, I'm DOOMED!"
And then she, of course, got one red, got stuck on a licorice space, and said..."I told you I would be DOOMED!" Ahh, the intensity that Candy Land can have on a young life :)
I was trying to give a kid a hint about something that is 'circular' when working on categorization, so I asked "what do you use to pay for things with?" and he thinks, and says "Uhhh....water....melon?".....I guess this kiddo barters instead of using money!
The same kid later told me that ham and spaghetti were desserts. (See why we are working on categorization??? lol)
~~~~~~
In a meeting one day before Winter Break week, the mom shared that her daughter was upset about having a 2 hour delay for school on Wednesday, and when she asked why?, the girl shared "because that means that I miss Speech today and I love speech!"....when you rank above a 2 hour delay from school, it pretty much means you have celebrity status! :)

That's all I've got for now, but you'd better believe I'm taking notes on any new fun/cute stories that pop up in my day-to-day :)

  2. Lol... love it! I miss working with elementary school kiddos because they say the funniest things! Then again, my high school kiddos say some pretty entertaining things too! You've inspired me, I may have to write about the funny things I've heard too!

  3. Just love these posts you do about the adorable kiddos you work with! So funny! And I think I would have had the same reaction when seeing a child wearing a shirt with BIMBO across it, lol!:)
