Weekend/Moving Recap

Well if I thought last weekend went by in a blur, this one went by in a nanosecond!
This weekend was moving weekend (in case you missed it in previous posts), and boy was it exhausting!
Mingle 240

Friday night MG and I had a mini date night at our favorite pizza spot by our condo, kind of as a celebratory "last dinner" near our place before we moved.
After dinner we went back to the condo, packed the car one more time and drove things over to the house.

Saturday morning we were up at 6am to get final things packed, cars loaded, and ready to go before the movers arrived just before 10. Our movers were sloooooow. We had 3 guys who were only there to move our big furniture pieces (we'd already done the rest), and since we could have done it the 2 of us in about 4 hours (even with my weak baby arms), I figured they'd be done in 3. Nope! 5 hours and a broken computer desk later....we were moved in.

Poor guy was so tired after everything that he fell asleep with his head in my hand!
MG's parents and brother-in-law arrived at the house around the same time that the movers did, so it was chaos around here for a while. In the middle of moving in, Cooper had a pretty intense seizure that lasted longer than any others he's had. I panicked (crying) and took him to the vet (which luckily had a clinic right near our new house). He was a-okay once he came out of it, but boy was I scared! So glad the little guy was ok--I'm sure he was super stressed out with all of the moving and new people coming in and out etc.

Saturday flew by in a flash but with the help of MG's dad and brother-in-law especially, we got a lot of stuff done including getting the deck power washed, our tv mounted to the wall, things hung, put away, etc. My mom and MG's mom helped with the organizational stuff too.
We finally had room for everyone to sit!
Our new deck furniture!

Sunday morning we had breakfast together and then got a few more things done around the house before MG's family drove back up to PA. We are SO thankful to them for all of their help! Our house would not be nearly as done as it is now without them!
I was finally able to get the wine cork monogram hung that my bestie, Genna, made for my bridal shower!
We went to the condo to do final cleaning before our renters/friends move in next weekend and before we knew it, the day had flown by (apparently it flies when you're having fun AND when you're being tortured with cleaning).
Neither of us had the energy to cook or grocery shop so we hit up Chipotle and had our first meal and night alone together in the new house.

Although there is still lots to do, it already feels like home. I'm so excited to be starting this next step with the love of my life :)

  8. Congrats on the new place! It looks amazing, and I'm totally jealous of your deck. I think the packing/moving everything out and then back in part is the worst.. The unpacking and nesting part though, is my absolute favorite! :)
