{1}- Cooper Moment

On the first day of school (for kids), MG had a late morning into work, so as I'm sitting at my desk getting ready for the kids to arrive, I get this picture text from him:

It wasn't even 8:30 in the morning and my pup was already in full-on, sleeping-with-a-leg-in-the-air mode.

Oh, to live the life of a dog :)

{2}-Friend Time

Tonight MG and I are having my couple friends from work come over to celebrate surviving the first week of school. MG is grilling pizzas on the grill, I'm getting some apps together and making white peach sangria in my infuser (yum!), and they'll get to see the house for the first time (and now that we've gotten a lot done, I'm even more excited). We're also going out to dinner with the couple who was renting our current house back from us for the month after we closed. We've been trying to hang out for a while, so it's nice that it's finally working out--should be a great time :)

{3}- New Puppy

MG's sister and brother-in-law (and their kids) are getting a new puppy this weekend. They lost their dog earlier this year in January to cancer, but are opening their hearts to another adorable pup. He's a sheep-a-doodle (half sheep dog, half poodle), and just about the cutest thing ever. He was supposed to make a pit stop by our house this weekend, but it ended up not working out (insert sad face here).  We'll get to see our brother-in-law, which isn't a puppy, but is still nice :). It just means we'll have to head up to PA soon so that we can spend some quality puppy snuggle time with this little pup, Burton!

{4}-Random Commute Happenings

The other morning before I went to work, I crossed the path of a black cat twice (pretty sure it was the same black cat). I had hopes that that meant it cancelled each other out, rather than doubled my bad luck. Then the next day Taylor Swift's Shake it Off played twice on my commute in and I'm pretty sure that, in and of itself, cancelled out any bad luck that was coming my way. At least that's what I'm telling myself.

But, I'm knocking on wood now, just to be sure :)

{5}-Prayers
This isn't a favorite, but a request. A friend of mine at work, who I've become very close with, has a mom who is dealing with cancer. She was actually supposed to be coming over tonight with her husband and our other friends, but her mom isn't doing well, so she's going home to see her. Please, if you get a moment, say a prayer for her and her family. She's such a kind friend, and I hate that they are going through this. So, any extra thoughts and prayers you have, would be greatly appreciated.
