Friday Five

I have to say, today doesn't really feel like Friday to me with all of the delays and days off this week and last week. I haven't worked a full week since before Winter Break, and this weekend is a long weekend, too. I'm pretty ok with it, minus the chaos it causes on my schedule at work, but oh well!

I've got some great favorites this week, so let's get to em!

{1} My Husband's Back!!
I didn't mention it while he was gone, but MG was in China for 10 days starting last week and into this week. He made it back safely on Wednesday night, despite a morning of slightly crummy weather, and Cooper and I couldn't be happier to have him back at home with us! Not to mention, he came home bearing gifts in the form of Uggs and a new Kate Spade purse (he's a catch, ladies, I tell ya!) It's been a slightly difficult time dealing with snow/ice days alone, and Cooper's seizures by myself, along with trying to stay in touch when we're on opposite schedules (his day was my night, etc). Needless to say, I'm super excited to get to spend a long weekend soaking up some hubby time!

{2} Weekend plans
MG and I are going to attempt to at least paint the trim in our upstairs hallway (since that's off-white just like the entry hallway was), and maybe if we're good/lucky we'll get to painting the walls too. We'll see. In addition to that, we have brunch plans with our couple friends on Sunday morning so we have something to reward ourselves with for our hard work! And Monday we both have off for MLK day. Love me a long weekend!! I'll take all the extra time with MG that I can get to make up for the 10 days he was gone!

{3} Cooper
Some of you know that Cooper had another seizure on Monday night, after the one he had on Saturday. Thankfully I was able to get a vet appt for Tuesday and Cooper is now on seizure medicine. Luckily he seems to have taken to it ok and doesn't have any noticeable reactions to it--the most difficult part is getting him to swallow the pill twice a day! I'm SO thankful to the vet who took the time to explain everything to me, and to the pharmacist at Costco who gave me a 6 day supply of his meds when I didn't have my AmEx card with me! I'm hopeful that Cooper is on his way to being more seizure-free.
this is how Coop spends a snow day
(and probably every other day, too!)

{4} More Snow Days and Delays
Like I mentioned before, it's been a little crazy since getting back from Winter Break and we haven't had a solid week of regular schedule at all. This week we had a delay Monday morning and a day off on Wednesday. It's all getting me back logged in work, but I'm SUPER thankful to have had Wednesday off to spend with Cooper and make sure that he reacted ok to his new meds. It couldn't have come at a better time and I felt so much better knowing I would be there with him and not worrying about him from work.

{5} Wedding Feature
On Wednesday Lisa at Showered with Design featured my wedding on her blog along with some wedding Q+A. It was a super fun post to do, and get to feature some of my favorite pictures from our wedding day. I also really enjoyed reading the comments people wrote about it! Go check out her blog, and the post, if you haven't already!

And before I go, I wanted to share a couple of funnies I've found on Pinterest lately:

Amen. Whoever made this pin is speaking to my soul! :)

  1. That first someecard... um YES! Haha! I seriously laughed out loud to that! So glad to hear Cooper is doing better and is hopefully going to be seizure free soon! And glad you got some snow days/delays in this week so you could spend more time with your furbaby. Kinda jealous of your snow days... we've been getting rain and I think I'd rather have snow! Happy Friday!

  5. Yay for MG making it home safely!
I wish I had snow days (where I didn't have to work). I'm envious of my school system working friends on those days.
Glad Coop got his meds and hopefully you both can get some relief now.

  6. Husbands coming home are the best but when they give gifts that is even better. Can I say I'm a little jealous that you get delays and snow days with work. Our company are hard asses and expect everyone in even in snow emergencies (they forced people in during hurricanes) Even when we close. New policy with out new CEO this year is if you call out during snow days is you aren't allowed to use your benefit time even if you have it. I have to look into it but I really feel like that has to go against some form of labor law.

  7. MG definitely deserves some sugar for those lovely gifts:) Glad he got home safely - I know you are thrilled to have him back!:) Hoping little Coop continues to stay seizure-free on the medication. Our sweet kitty, Aslan, had a few seizures when we first rescued him, and seeing him go through that was absolutely terrifying (though the docs say they feel no pain during the episodes - I don't know if I believe that!) Just glad that there is medication available to help sweet pups like yours! Have a great weekend, Jenn!

I hope Cooper keeps responding well to the medicine and doesn't scare you with any more seizures, but I'm glad you got to be at home with him some this week! I'm pretty sure my pup spends his days sleeping on our couch too. Happy Friday and enjoy your long weekend!!
