Weekend Highlights

Happy Groundhog's Day! Let's hope that little guy doesn't see his shadow, so that we can get Spring to make its way around a bit sooner!

(I thought about writing it again and making it feel like Groundhog Day the movie, but I didn't know how well/clearly that would come across on the blog, so just know that the comedic intention was there :)

Let's recap some of the highlights from this weekend, shall we?

-Friday I had a work in-service where I got to spend the day with my friend Bree, and made a new friend....and had lots of laughs (while we were supposed to be paying attention...oops!)

-Was the recipient of a pay-it-forward at Chik-Fil-A during lunch when the person before me paid for my meal before I even got there. Made my day!

-Got addicted to Trivia Crack
{via}
-Had a dinner date night with MG

-MG left on a last-minute work trip out of the country on Saturday morning. Boo!

-Spent the day with my parents to celebrate my Dad's birthday

-Thai food take out for dinner!

-Watched Boyhood (wow was it long! I liked the concept of the movie and give it a lot of credit for doing something so different, but I hate to say, I was kinda bored throughout)
-Sunday errands

-Got in some FaceTime with some friends to catch up, and a phone call with my mother-in-law

-Lots of snuggles with Cooper
-Got back into my book on the Kindle since I've been slacking on reading lately

-Was inspired by how strong my new friend I met on Friday is after going through a huge life changing challenge

-Did another Piyo workout (you know I love this thing if I'm working out on a Sunday!)

-Watched the Superbowl (mainly for the commercials), but no party because of MG's last minute work trip :(
Loved so many of them including the Budweiser commercial and the Coke commercial about the world being what you make it!

Luckily MG gets back tonight from his trip--just stinks that it ruined our Super Bowl party, and a few other plans that we had for the weekend. Alas, life happens sometimes!
Sorry for the lack of pictures--it was a pretty low key weekend which was actually much needed!
Hope you had a good weekend!

  4. Low key weekends when needed are the best! I I was surprised that so many of the Superbowl commercials were so serious this year...The Budweiser one with the puppy made me tear up! What did you think of the halftime show? I need to try Piyo...it sounds like fun! Have a great Monday!

  5. OMG, I am totally obsessed with Trivia Crack. That game is SO addicting! And I completely forgot it was Groundhog Day. I kinda hope that little bugger sees his shadow because I need 6 more weeks to get bikini ready! Sorry that your Super Bowl party was ruined, but just think, no mess to clean up today! Happy Monday girl!

  6. Boyhood felt like such a long movie! It was good, but not sure one that I’d watch again.

  8. I'm glad to hear that other adults also love Trivia Crack - since I heard about it from my teenage brother I was a bit afraid I was the only 20-something on it!

  11. I forgot I told a friend I'd watch Boyhood! Maybe I'll save it for a lazy day next weekend if it's long.

  12. I felt the same way about Boyhood... such an interesting idea for a movie... it was cool, yet also felt like a waste of my time.... as well as the actors time? haha I don't know, I left feeling very confused about the whole thing haha

  14. Cooper is just so cute and reminds me of how much I love my pups. And I just miss ya. I feel like this new job and baby crap has taken me away from blogging as much and really keeping up with people. Just wanted you to know I miss you.

  17. Weren't all those commercials such tear jerkers this year? Plus all the dad ones! Ohhhh I still have never had the pay it behind drive through. Mainly because the starbucks line is usually so long I just get out and go inside lol. Awwww sweet doggie snuggles are the best!

  18. I've been wanting to watch Boyhood! I'm bummed that you said it was boring! I missed the Super Bowl since I was en route back home, but I'm ok with it. I didn't really care about either team.
