Friday Faves

Happy Friday!!! This week's been kinda a blur for me with taking off Monday, and being sick this week, so I'm happy that it's Friday and I have the weekend ahead to rest up, with no major plans on our agenda.
But first, some faves!

{1} Sleepytime Tea
{via}
This has been my saving grace at night this week. Not only does it taste great, but the warmth soothes my cough so that I can sleep through the night. That, and Nyquil.

{2} Favorite Sweet Moment
On our drive to the airport on Monday, I sat in the back with our friend's two littles, and the littlest little fell asleep, gripping my finger in her hands. Talk about making my heart have all the feels, and then melt

{3} Favorite Meal
I meal prepped on Tuesday while at work, and my wonderful hubs went out and did the grocery shopping (he's a winner)...unbeknownst to me, MG was in the mood for an Asian dish. We must have been on the same wavelength because I'd planned to make Spicy Shrimp Lo Mein. Boy was it good...annnnd spicy! (Recipe coming soon)

{4} 2 Randoms from the Week
~When MG and I caught our plane back from MN on Monday and got seated, the person across the aisle from us was putting his stuff in the overhead compartment. And there we saw....a carton of eggs. Can't say I've ever seen that before (but I'm glad my stuff wasn't in the same compartment)
Not sure how they didn't explode during the flight...
~This week we got our school photos back--it's so funny to have a record of your "teaching years" through school photos (my mom still has each one at home, from when I was in school, and from teaching). I'm pretty pleased with this year's:

{5} Funnies
When you can't figure out why something won't work, despite your best efforts
{via}
When someone says "cake"
{via}
When someone's "fashion sense" doesn't quite hit home with you
{via}
When it's Friday and your fabulous plans for the night include the couch, pizza and movies
{via}
Hope you have a great Friday and a fantastic weekend!

  1. I can't even tell you how much I love sleepy time tea - it's the best thing I do for myself before bed around 9PM during the week (grandma status over here LOL) Girl you and me are on the same page for our plans tonight :) Text me so we can watch the same movie LOL! Happy Friday! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  2. I love your school picture! I want to join you & Biana in the text conversation of what movie to watch because hey, that's what I'm about to do. I wish I could find all the Sleepytime tea here since both Amir & I are sick, but it's either so freakin' expensive or we can't find it ever so I'm just SOL, lol! xo

  3. I'm laughing about the egg carton on the plane.... I saw something similar on a flight back from Texas and actually asked the person what the heck they had eggs for and he said it was cascaronies (sp) - they are egg shells that they put a pin hole in and put confetti in them and then you can throw them or crack them on someone's head and confetti goes everywhere.... so maybe it was those ;)

  9. Haha that is me to a T when someone says cake, I try to be like Ross on Friends where (the one where he and Joey are nap partners) where I get up at work and am moving quickly but not too quickly as to look somewhat composed. 14. What a great school picture! It is going to be so fun to look back at the pictures as you go on in your teaching career...my mom just retired at the end of last school year and for fun, some teachers put a matching game together...match the picture to the year. It was so neat! Hope you are feeling better...enjoy your weekend!

  30. Your school picture is gorgeous! I feel like I always tried so hard to not mess up when I had to take a school picture, but always something ended up being out of place (usually my hair haha). Its so cute that your mom keeps them!
    Also, these gifs were so funny...and I can't get over that someone dared to bring eggs on a plane! I would most definitely break them by accident if it were me!
