Happy Monday and November, pretties! Hopefully you're well-rested and not suffering from a sugar crash after all of the Halloween candy!

MG and I had a relaxing but fun weekend, with Sunday being the biggest highlight, and Ill give you a hint why:
The highlights this weekend included:
~Dressed up for Book Character day at school as the Diary of a Wimpy Kid character on Friday:
The fourth grade team had the same idea...kinda:
~Got my new work laptop all set up

Electrical tape was my friend for this costume! |
~Got my new work laptop all set up
~Friday date night with MG and some wine to cap off the week
~watching Age of Adeline: it was cute but predictable
~Painting our front door bright white--finally the last two off-white doors in the house are done! (We've now officially painted 17 doors in our house)
~Saturday morning book club brunch at my friend's house. (Sported some flannel since it was the perfect Fall day--so did 3 of the other girls #basic):
Even though we didn't have a book this time, we just got together, had some yummy food, apple pie sangria (which was SO good), and caught up. Before we knew it, 3.5 hours had gone by!
~We picked our next book and decided that since it has a winery theme, we'll have our next book club at a winery! #genius

~took a 3+ mile walk with MG since the weather was so nice out
~Greeted our Trick-or-Treaters...Cooper was uber excited about all of the little kids and the attention
~spent some time with our neighbors
~Woke up early Sunday morning to run errands in the rain
~Had lunch in DC with our friend and her two kids--luckily the weather changed to be absolutely beautiful out!

~Got a private tour of the west wing of the White House from our friend who works with the President.
Included in the tour was the outside of the Situation Room, the oval office, cabinet meeting room, rose garden, the outside press area, and the press pool room, plus all of the current photos and historical paintings in the hallways.
We were only allowed to take pics in certain spots, and not inside of the west wing itself--hence why there are no pics of me sitting in the President's chair behind his desk--jk that didn't happen--I wish tho! ;)

Outside the door to the West Wing:
~Got to go to the OEB, walk around, and hang out in the Indian Treaty Room which had a stellar view of the White House, where we happened to see Sonny and Bo getting an afternoon walk on the White House lawn while we were there!
~Made our way home and relaxed, watched football, and then went out for the best buffalo chicken wraps for dinner at one of our favorite places near our old condo:
~Pouted over the fact that the sun set at 5pm
~Watched some Sunday night tv, including the last part of the RHOC reunion (holy drama!), relaxed and got ready for another week!
Overall, the weekend was pretty fantastic! We felt incredibly lucky to have some behind the scenes access to a part of the White House that's not open to the general public. Add in lots of friend time and you've got an awesome weekend!
Hope your weekend was stellar, too, and filled with more treats than tricks!

Linking up with these pretties today:
I remember years ago going on a tour of the White House when we visited DC with our girls. Like you, we knew someone who worked there. My youngest was able to get a picture of President Clinton's cat sitting on her lap in her wheelchair. She was little at the time, but when I show her the picture she's like who is that again?
ReplyDeleteYou sat in the president's chair - I can't even believe it! How cool that you got to tour that - something you'll remember forever for sure! I love your Halloween costume for school - so cute! Hope you have a great Monday! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
