Confessions and Hashtags

I know that Jess isn't doing the link up this week for confessions because of a psycho online presence who decided to try and steal her identity!!!! but I already had some confessions written down and I figured I'd share them with you anyway.
I confess that....

.....my best friend and I now have identical cars and I love it. She had to get a new car because some jerk rear ended her a couple weeks ago, totaling her car. After some research and test drives, she decided to go with the 2016 Rogue...and in the same color as mine. Who needs bestie necklaces when you have bestie cars? #matchymatchy
{via} Double trouble! :)
.....when trying to figure out what to do with the flower bed area outside of our house, I realized MG and I both have ZERO clue what we're doing. Thank goodness for a friend who's plant-smart to help us out! #greenthumbwannabe

......I was 5 days late this past weekend, and I'm never late. With each passing day my hopes kept getting bigger, until aunt flow came along and slapped me across the face with reality (ok, not across my face...but you know). But, I'm ok, and am looking forward. This doesn't define me--it's just another point in our journey. I'm choosing to look at it as my body getting ready to get pregnant. Positivity, right? #butdamnthatwasablower

.....I think ice cream should be its own food group. I would call that food group "Necessary for Happiness". Sounds better than "dairy" or "grains" right? #nomnom
.....I woke up on Wednesday morning with a monster zit in the middle of my forehead. It was painful and annoying. I'm thinking this might be the start of me turning into a unicorn and this is just my horn beginning to sprout. #unicornintraining

....part of me feels guilty about not working this summer. I don't get paid during the months that we're out of school which sucks, and when I've worked summer school in the past it's decent money for a short amount of time and I still get a break from work for a few weeks. But if we are going to do any fertility treatments, it won't work since there are early morning doctor's visits, and I can't miss days during summer school. So, I'm not working. It'll be a hit financially (not terribly so, but we'll definitely be eating into some savings), but I hope the stress-free living for the summer will help us on the baby front, and in general. #teacherproblems

....sometimes those videos where people hold up a never-ending stream of cards with messages on them, telling their stories annoy me. When I saw the first one, I thought it was cool. Now I feel like whenever I log onto facebook there's another video with someone telling their story through writing on cards. Usually I scroll right past them now. Is that bad? #judgemeifyouwill

.....I could probably eat taco salads every day. Or some form of Mexican. My GI tract probably wouldn't love it, but my tummy sure would! #ole

....on my drive home from work the other day I got a major itch on the bottom of my foot. My driving foot. And of course there were no red lights on my normally red-light laden commute home. So I drove around trying to simultaneously not think about the major itch, and also not drive into oncoming traffic. #perfecttiming
I'll leave you with that entertaining image!
What are you confessing this week??

  1. Oh my gosh the matching cars is too funny - you guys should wear the same outfit and go to dinner but make sure people see you coming out of the cars haha! Sorry to hear about summer school, but it's for the best like you said!! xo, biana -BlovedBoston

  2. I love that you guys have matching cars! Enjoy your time this summer. Even though it will be a little tight, it definitely sounds like a good decision!

  3. Oh gosh, hubs and I have NO CLUE how to landscape or plant a garden or anything like that. A couple of years ago we tried and failed miserably. Everything died within, like, two months. And that's exactly why we have professional landscapers coming in next week instead. Lol.

  4. Ugh, I hate it when I get a huge zit in the middle of my forehead. My hubby calls it my new friend. They are the worst! Sometimes it good to just take a break and relax. Enjoy your summer!

  12. Sorry to hear you had a hopes up/hopes dashed moment. Not many things are more frustrating than trying and being late, but getting a big old negative test :-) So glad you are able to really invest and dive into treatments this summer though, you will be such a fantastic mom when the time comes!!
Also my apologies on the foot itch. Really, nothing is worse than an itchy foot!

  18. Your unicorn zit story may be the funniest thing I've heard this week - and I needed a good laugh, so thanks for that, my dear! I know not teaching this summer will be a little different for you, but think of it as a much needed break for a few weeks. It will be great!:)

  19. OMG I always get an itch on the bottom of my right foot...at least once a month when I'm driving. It's the most annoying AND scariest thing! The unicorn zit...LOL, hope it goes way for you!

  20. Umm yes to ice cream being a food group. It basically is for me in the summer anyways, so I think we should just make it official! And don't feel bad about taking the summer off! You work hard all year, you totally deserve it :)

  23. The matching BFF cars and the unicorn made me laugh! Yes to Mexican food all day every day! I grew up close to the Mexico border so it's a staple in my life! It's so hard when you're late and get excited... I was in the same boat a couple months ago and it was hard when aunt flo came along. Hang in there girl!

  24. If you are becoming a unicorn, I need to know your secret. :) Good for you for taking the summer off!

  25. Mexican food and ice cream every day, forever.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ugh I had a giant pimple pop up on my forehead a few weeks ago too!! Those are the worst! That'll be really nice to have the summer to focus on fertility treatments and not have to worry about missing work for all of the appointments!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I have the worst green thumb! It's so hard for me to keep plants alive.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Haha, my sister and I have the exact same car in the same color too! I am frequently trying to get into her car instead of mine when we are parked somewhere.

  29. I'm dying laughing at the unicorn comment. Enjoy your free summer and good luck with all that it will hold.

  30. I'm confessing this week that ditching the sugar is harder than I imagined. So I ate TWO, I say TWO pieces of chocolate cheesecake last night. No guilt at all! This is what happens when company visits in the middle of the week.

  31. What's the opposite of a green thumb? Black thumb? That's what we are. Totally agree with you that ice cream should be it's own food group. Yummmmm.

  32. Bestie cars - the "grown up version of necklaces"!! And yes please to the happiness food group! Sorry to hear about your slap in the face, but I love your positive attitude! Stay strong, my friend, and prayers for you and your hubs!

  33. Oh no that's extremely scary that someone tried to steal Jess's identity! I can't wait to see what you do with the flower bed. We are in the same boat actually and staring at some dead shrubs with lots of weed which needs to be dug up and beautified asap.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Mexican every day - yes please! My best friend and I have almost identical cars now - we've had fun with it! My mom and I are actually looking into the same car for our new ones as well!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I think it's great you're taking the summer off! I pray it's stress free for you!!! :) PS I love your car! And yes, ice cream should totally be its own food group.

  36. Girl I understand the life of a teacher all too well - enjoy your summer off and don't feel bad about it because y'all deserve it! Yes to tacos every day! -xx Leah || Chasing Texas

  37. Just keep staying positive! :) That's the best mindset to maintain. Fingers crossed for y'all! My friend's car got totaled last week too. She bought one of the smaller Nissan cars. She's loving it so far. The summer off? As much as I love a paycheck, the summer off sounds amazing.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'm definitely on board with eating ice cream and Mexican food every day. I'd prob gain 15 lbs doing that, but hey at least it would be good food :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. When I taught in Florida we didn't get paid during the summer so I had to make sure and put away money every paycheck so I would starve. Plus I was moving back to Texas so I needed money to help with that and move in fees for my new place. Thankfully Texas divides everything up over the course of the whole year. But some extra income over the summer would be nice. Maybe next summer I'll apply for summer school. But not this one! lol

I too could eat taco salads everyday. Those things are delicious.

  40. Ugh. So sorry about the Aunt Flo saga. That is so disappointing.

I literally eat ice cream every night. My husband has type 1 diabetes, so we eat a completely carb free dinner. I have to make up for it somehow!

Not getting paid in the summer is so tricky, but you will be so much more relaxed this way, and we all know how important that is.

  41. um i absolutely scroll past the people on facebook. judge away, lol. hwo cool you have bestie matching cars! love it. every time i am late, i think i am pregnant and then aunt flow is a cow. stupid aunt flow. and um, ice cream should definitely be its own food group haha. just happiness sounds good to me!

  42. I was so sad to hear about what happened to Jess. Love that you and your bestie got matching cars. Hoping and praying for your miracle to happen this summer.

  43. I made a decision to not work this summer, either. I have another little interest that I'm pursuing and can't if I'm working. Love the matching cars! Dying over the unicorn in training comment! xo, Champagne&Suburbs

  44. My bestie and I also have the same cars! 2009 Toyota Corollas. It's great when we visit each other and can comfortably drive each other's cars (she lives in CA now)!
