This weekend was pretty low key for us, but still had some fun highlights!
My weekend highlights included:
~Driving back from the beach on Friday morning after packing up and saying good bye to everyone
~Picked up my Cooper pup from my mom's house on our way back home. Oh the tail wiggles!!!
~Unpacked and started the multiple loads of laundry
~Went out to dinner at Bonefish since we had a coupon, and Bonefish is delicious. We went a little overboard and got a side of the truffle mac and cheese (freaking delicious) alongside my bang bang shrimp tacos and MG's tuna bowl.
~Watched the opening ceremony of the Olympics with MG, while texting back and forth with Brittany :)
~Had an early morning doc appointment on Saturday which went well!
~Ran to Costco to grab a few things (including a monster watermelon for $4); discovered some amazing tasting pesto sauce (bought it), and some cheese raviolis (bought them too).
(if you have a Costco, and you come across this pesto, get it! It's SO good!)
~Started feeling a sinus headache/migraine on the way home. I've been recovering from a slight cold/allergies from last week and this may have been a part of that.
~Took a headache-induced nap on the couch and felt better for only about 30 minutes after waking up.
~MG left for a friend's cookout. I told him to go and if I felt better I'd meet up with him later that night. After a shower and some more down time I did feel better so I headed over for a couple of hours. Played flip cup for the first time in a while (without the drinking--didn't want the headache to come back).
~After 2 hours my head started to hurt over my right eye so we left (plus we had to get back to do my shots), and I had a tough time driving back home with the sharp pain over my eye. Luckily we made it back ok.
~Was doubled over in pain on the couch, crying, with how bad the stabbing feeling felt over my eye. MG massaged my temple and above my eye which helped. And then he made me soup and I passed out on the couch for probably 2 hours.
~Luckily after a solid night of sleep, the headache was gone and didn't reemerge the next day. Praise!
~Had bagels at Panera for breakfast and then ran errands for the week (gonna be incorporating that pesto in a salmon recipe!)
~MG and I headed to the Mosaic District for lunch and a movie and stumbled upon a farmer's market/street fair where we both got food from two stands there, and some delicious organic lemonade/lime-ade.
(his was some kind of rosemary lamb thingy; mine was an avocado and mozzarella crepe with tomato and cilantro)
~We tried out the new movie theater there and saw Star Trek. I've liked them in the past and this one was ok, but it definitely was my least favorite of the Star Trek movies. The middle kind of dragged a bit.
~Stopped by the Target and swooned over the Home section, even though it was decorated for college stuff. Which just made me reminisce about those summer days before college :)
~Came home and took Coop for a long walk around the neighborhood next to us; Cooper definitely was worn out once we got back!
~Ordered Chipotle for dinner because I wanted it. Did I need a better reason than that? :)
~Watched a bunch of the Olympics--I love watching all of the competitions! The ladies gymnastics was awesome last night! #gousa
I'm back at the doc this morning, but no major plans today. Probably more Olympics? :)
Hoping your weekend was awesome, and headache-free!
Your headache sounds awful--I'm glad it only lasted a day and not any longer than that! Love all of your food pictures! We've never been to Bonefish Grill but I have heard so many good things about it. That may need to change soon because your food looked great! Enjoy the rest of your summer and I have school all week :( haha!

AHh give me all the bang bang shrimp!! I went to target yesterday and was thinking how I'd outfit my dorm room if I could LOL! Happy Monday! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteLoved our texting back and forth! Still laughing at "Ja-booty!" ;)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness girl. I am so sorry to hear about your headache issues this weekend! Hopefully that doesn't come back again for a long time! And if I stumble across that pesto I will definitely have to check it out! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes
ReplyDeleteawful about you feeling terrible. sleeping cures most things right? or at least helps a little. at least you probably had some cooper snuggles though. and that market is a cool thing to run across. a mellow weekend seems like just the ticket!

Right above the eye pain is literally the WORST! That happens to me every once and while and I feel like I want to die every time. I usually have to lay on the couch and press against the spot really hard, that helps some but nothing goes away until I sleep. Also when I saw your snap of those shrimp tacos my mouth started to water. They looked soo tasty! :)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great Monday! :)
I had a bad headache yesterday - luckily it has gone away for the most part. So glad you are feeling better! That sounds so painful!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like tail wiggles when picking up your furry family member! It's the best. :)
ReplyDeleteyikes, headaches like that really suck big time. glad that it hasn't returned. you reminded me of the basil leaves i have in the fridge so i can make some pesto with my chicken!!!
ReplyDeleteAll that food looks delicious! I definitely ate way more than I should this weekend but hey, I can't help it, I love good food! Have a great Monday!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that you had to deal so much with migraines this weekend, but it sounds like you were still able to have a blast with lots of good food too! My husband and I have wanted to see the new Star Trek movie, but haven't made it yet. Bummer that it wasn't as good as some of the others!
ReplyDeleteGosh, that headache sounded awful. One of my friends gets really bad migraines a lot and I can't imagine having to go through that so frequently. I'm glad yours went away and didn't come back the next day!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your headache, sending lots of *hugs*. Yessss to all the Olympics and gymnastics! I'm so sad that I'm allergic to seafood, because I've heard nothing but amazing things about the Bang Bang Shrimp. Maybe I can get them to make it with chicken :)

Ugh bad headaches are the worst. I'm glad you banished it!
ReplyDeleteI was obsessed with the gymnastics last night too - they are so good! Sorry you weren't feeling great on Saturday - that is the worst! We actually have a bonefish coupon too and I've been so wanting to get there soon to use it!
ReplyDeleteSounds like quite the weekend despite the mega headaches - that sounds awful girl! I'm thinking I need a costco trip solely for that pesto now! Yum! (I also want bonefish too) glad the doc appt went well!! Have a great rest of your day and cheers to BIP tonight!
ReplyDeleteI had a similar headache over my eye like that last week and have no idea what it was from, but it was SO painful!! Glad sleeping it off helped and that you felt better! We love that pesto and will use an entire jar of it making caprese sandwiches, haha. Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteall the food from bonefish looks ahhhhmazing.
ReplyDeleteoh that sucks about the star trek movie, we haven't seen it yet but KC is a huge star trek fan. i'll lower my expectations lol.
oh that headache sounds absolutely awful :( i'm glad it finally went away, how horrible.
That headache sounds brutal, so sorry! Glad you are feeling better!
ReplyDeleteUgh girl headaches are the worst. I had migraines from days like 3-6 from the menopur but eventually they resolved. I read that is a pretty common side effect with that drug
ReplyDeleteLola looks just like that after her walks! Bonefish is one our favorite date night spots but I've never tried the truffle mac and cheese. The bang bang shrimp appetizer is definitely a must & those tacos are amazing too.
ReplyDeleteYour dog is so cute!! Headaches are awful. Hopefully you feel better soon <3
