Thursday Thoughts

Thursdays are perfect for a bunch of random stuff, so off we go!

~Christmas lights just make me happy. Coming home to our lights outside makes me smile, and just brightens up the house.

~I woke up Wednesday morning thinking it was at least Thursday or Friday. Womp womp.

~I'm nervous and excited for our anatomy scan tomorrow. Really hoping everything looks good, normal and healthy. Healthy baby is number 1!

~The baby gender poll yesterday was a fun post to read, and no I don't take any of those old wive's tales seriously (my doctor debunked the heartbeat and the acne one), it was just for fun--but it looks like the majority of you are thinking girl, too!

~Based on the number of posts about Uncommon Goods gifts I've seen in the last two weeks, I'd say the Uncommon Goods team did a huge promotional marketing tour recently. It seems like posts about Uncommon Goods or Minted have flooded my feed.

~MG and I decided not to do big gifts this year since we're going to San Diego for our babymoon right around Christmas. But I did figure out what to get him that was a smaller gift, which is always tough for me since his birthday is 3 weeks before Christmas #win

~days that start and end with rain stink. Days that include all of that and a leaky roof...they stink more. #calltheroofer

~I hate when people post spoilers online the next day after a show aired. In the age of DVR not everyone watches a show live. I saw, in huge letters, on Facebook yesterday "What did you guys think of ____ Winter finale? Do you think X dies?" Grrr...guess I know what the cliffhanger is....#angryemoji

~last week I did a maternity workout on Beachbody On Demand that had me waddling for the next 3 days because of all the squats. Then two days later I stubbed my toe on the door and was hobble/wobbling. At least I have pregnancy to blame it on #wobblebaby

~I got my Christmas cards addressed and mailed out this morning! I got the cards a while ago, but MG and I were dragging our feet on printing the addresses on the envelopes, but last night we buckled down and got it done. #productive

~I love when I work with a student who is otherwise quiet and kind of "down and out" about school, and we laugh and have a good time together while working on speech and language. It seriously makes my day that there's a bright spot for those kids during the day where they feel successful.

What's on your mind this week?

  1. AHHH! So behind on my blog reading, but I'm so excited for you for your anatomy scan tomorrow! Did you guys decide if you're going to find out there or wait and do a reveal? I think I'm going to guess boy (but I'm so bad at this lol)!

  2. Squats are seriously the devil mixed with the best thing ever because they are so effective but dang they hurt the next day! Any day that ends in rain and cold.....the worst!!! Glad to hear about making progress with one of your students and can't wait to hear what you are having!!!!

  3. my husband and daughter ended up buying this christmas light that shines a light onto the house but it's a multi-light spinning globe thing so when it turned on, i saw blaring red/blue/yellow lights out our window and thought a bunch of cops pulled up in front of our house and i shouted: THERE ARE COPS OUTSIDE!!!

  4. Prayers for a perfect anatomy scan tomorrow! I think Uncommon Goods and Minted has taken over my feed as well! It also drives me CRAZY when people post spoilers right away too. I get not waiting weeks for those of us who DVR everything but a couple days at least would be great!

  5. Ugh yesterday I thought it was Thursday so today is extra rough for me. And yup, I agree about the Uncommon Goods and Minted posts, they're every where! I did squats at the gym earlier this week and I can barely make it up the stairs today! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

  6. People who post about spoilers the night of the show are the worst! & I know exactly which show you're talking about getting spoiled for you. Maybe people will be better when the shows return in the spring? Hope your anatomy scan goes well! :)

  9. Sending you good thoughts on the anatomy scan! I cannot believe all the minted and uncommon goods posts too, it is rampant! I knew about them already too, so I thought it was weird. Squats are the devil, right up there with push ups! Have a great day!

  12. I am so excited for you to have your appointment tomorrow! I hope that baby is healthy and cooperative! Did you decide if you're going to find out tomorrow or are you going to wait? We had to wait a week in between our appointment and our gender reveal. As hard as it was not knowing, it was so fun finding out with our families.

  13. Yes, spoilers on social media are SOOOO annoying! And I know exactly which show you're referring to from that sentence! Haha!

  14. I feel the same way about Christmas lights, they are my favorite.

  15. Awe, haha I hate when your legs are so sore from squats! Positive prayers for the anatomy scan. I ordered my Christmas cards on Black Friday and I'm still waiting on them. Grrr.

  16. I love Christmas lights too! I'm sure all will be perfect at your scan. I remember being extra sore on multiple occasions when I ran too much when I was pregnant. In retrospect I think it's better to take it easy on the intense exercise. Don't forget your ligaments are loser and it's easier to overdue it when you're pregnant. Hope you have a wonderful babymoon!

  17. I love Christmas lights too and I am impressed that you have already sent off your Christmas cards. I just started on Sunday and feel overwhelmed. Good luck at the scan! Jess at Just Jess

  18. I TOTALLY agree about the Minted and Uncommon Goods posts--sure, they were fun to read at first, but it's getting to be a bit much. I'm thinking SO many happy thoughts for you for tomorrow!

  19. I need to address my cards and get them sent! And I love your last thought about working with kids who otherwise seem down and out about school! They need as many bright spots in their day as they can get! Thanks for being one!

  20. So funny about the Minted and Uncommon Goods. I have seen and participated in one recently. Uncommon Goods contacted me awhile ago and I thought I was one of the lucky ones and then everyone is doing it. Ha. But I still love their stuff. I watched This is Us last night because I was afraid of the spoilers. There were two on FB in my feed, but they prefaced them with spoilers below. I didn't want to risk it. I hope your anatomy scan goes well. I can't wait to hear what you are having. So excited for you!

  22. I was addressing this week, too! One of my favorite things :) Lol about thinking Wednesday was Thursday (or Friday) eeeks! Happy REAL Friday :)

  23. Jealous about your babymoon. But it'll be so fun.

  24. I cannot stand when people post spoilers online! Before I got around to watching the new Gilmore Girls, I would see people posting or blogging about it and I immediately scrolled past, which worked but still!

I hope your anatomy scan went good, by the way congrats :)
