"What's in there?" and other randoms

This week was chock full of random stuff to share!

~I'm pretty proud of myself that I was able to paint my own toenails on Monday night without 1) going into labor and 2) it looking like a Kindergartner did it. I plan on getting a pedi next week during my Spring Break, but with temps in the 70s and 80s earlier this week, my toes needed a little something something in the meantime #pregnancywin!

~I love when parents come in guns blazing to an IEP meeting and you tell them how well their kid is doing in X subject and their first response is "they need more hours with you"....ummm, no. No they don't.
And then you explain yourself, and they're totally on board with what you were initially saying. Chill out, man....#passthexanax

~I also *love* (note sarcasm) when I get called into a meeting about testing right before they're about to sign off on what areas they're going to test, I'm handed a report from an outside clinic and I'm supposed to read it, digest it, and then make a recommendation from it within 2 minutes.

~Tuesday was one of the most uncomfortable days I've had during my pregnancy. Baby girl is sitting up high now, which means when I sit down, her body (butt I'm assuming) is right under my rib cage. My stomach feels stretched to the max and when I eat a little bit, I feel like I've eaten a truck load. I'm not complaining, just documenting where I'm at right now. I'll take the discomfort if it means baby girl is healthy. But I feel like the word "oof" is a good description of how I felt on Tuesday haha.

~I saw my group of 2nd graders at my second school yesterday after having not seen them for 2 weeks. One of the kids looks at my stomach and goes "what's in there?" and I said "what do you think?" He goes "A baaaaaaaby??" haha, I guess the two weeks was enough for him to forget that I was pregnant.

~In the same group of 2nd graders, I was leaning into the table we were sitting at, and the one boy said "please be careful when you lean into the table. I don't want you to hurt the baby or squish it" lol...and then later when they were playing Ants in the Pants he said "make sure you don't hit Miss G....or the baby!" So protective and so sweet! :)

~I was walking behind a woman who was swinging her left arm in a weird way. Instead of forward and back, it came back and almost swatted the air behind her butt. At first I thought she was trying to shoo away a fart, but no...that's how she walked down the entire length of the hallway. So weird.

I'm sure today and the rest of the week will be full of other randoms and funny things too!

  4. Oh my gosh I'm DYING at the last one. "shoo away a fart.." I don't think I've ever heard it put like that. BAHAHAHAHAHAH!! Ps. A student just asked me why I'm smiling. yes I'm reading blogs while they take a test. #goodteacher Being pregnant and working at an elementary school would be so fun, 8th grades don't care about that, they're rude and too busy getting into fights with each other. I think I need to change grades.

Still so glad things are going so well! :)

  7. LOL at the second-graders. I've heard adults make some dumb comments to pregnant women. I.e, pointing out to far-along women that it's "almost time". Well, gee, I'm glad someone informed her that the kid is going to be here soon; she might have thought that she had another year to get ready.

  12. Oh the discomfort of the last trimester! There were nights where Olivia would sit near my lungs and I would get so out of breath that I literally couldn't even read a book to Jacob. It was crazy! I remember asking my doc if it was possible for her to cut off my oxygen altogether. Lol.
