Yes, you read that right...I'm in the beginning stages of planning Ella's first birthday party. How this is possible, I'm not even sure because it feels like just the other week we were bringing her home!
My SIL in New Jersey offered to host Ella's birthday party including a bouncy (which my BIL rents out on the side). It'll be a party with just family, so relatively low key, which is a-okay with me. There's plenty of time for big birthdays, you know, once Ella actually remembers them haha.
Anyway, I've gone the totally predictable route and turned to Pinterest for good ideas, and I think I've found some cute ideas to try and incorporate.

I love the idea of the floral headband, and the tutu around the highchair. She actually has this exact highchair, so I see doing something like this.
I also have all of Ella's monthly photos in the rocking chair in her room, next to her stuffed elephant that I could put on something like the hoop above, or this:

This cake is gorgeous, and I just love the gold hearts, too!

I could see her in an outfit similar to these two:

The tutu is probably my favorite, but who doesn't love glitter shorts too?
A fun extra, would be something like this for a makeshift "photo booth"
And I'd love to snap a fun photo like one of these of my girl on her special day:

For mamas who've already done the first birthday, are there any things that you did that were super cute? Or things that didn't go well? Give me your thoughts!
Now it's your turn to link up with Jessi and I to share what's hap-"pinning" with you!

These are great ideas for a first birthday-especially for miss E!! And I can only imagine how fast the time is going!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe she's already turning one soon! This year has passed by quickly! I love going to first birth parties and watching them try their cake for the first time haha!

The garden theme would be adorable and yes to a glitter tutu! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteThe best thing I did was have someone designated to take photos. You could even hire a photographer, but I had my photographer BFF do it (for free) with my camera and it was a great idea so I wasn't stressed about getting every single picture. I also did a designated hashtag for Instagram and just displayed it on a chalkboard. It was fun to go back and look at other people's pictures from the day, too! I also displayed Walker's monthly photos on the fireplace mantel and it was so cute! (Poor Knox got a $30 party at the park, ha! #secondkid)
ReplyDeleteNoooo, how is she almost 1?!?!! That's crazy! I LOVE the theme you chose and how sweet of your SIL & BIL to host!!
ReplyDeleteYou have so many cute ideas, yep, Miss Ella is going to need a Birthday tutu for sure!!

How in the world could she be one already?!! These are all precious ideas. So fun!
ReplyDeleteAll of this is super cute. Tutus are the best for little girls on the their birthdays. We did do a photo of E with a mat that everyone signed on her birthday that now hangs in her room and it so sweet to see all the comments. But i think no matter what, it will be a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteWe started planning the twins party and it's just too much to fathom. Seriously, how is this possible?!
ReplyDeleteOh my heavens!!!! I'm loving the first theme with the florals and gold!
ReplyDeleteAll of this is so beautiful!!! I think going the route of a simple family gathering is the best way to do it. I did that also and don't regret it one bit :) On the monthly photos I had them all put on this canvas type deal through Walgreens photo and it has a frame so I have it on the wall in his room. It was a good keepsake type thing.
ReplyDeleteOh I cannot believe your little peanut is going to be one! How exciting but time does go by so fast. Like they say the days are long but the years are short.
ReplyDeleteEverything is so adorable! Love this girly floral theme and those precious outfits! Ella would look so cute in them! Emily @ Martinis & Bikinis

Oh my goodness, how is it almost her 1st birthday already?! Pinterest and Etsy were my best friend while planning Serena's party. And if you're looking for one of those sweet tutu's my mom has them in her Etsy shop <3

These are all such cute ideas! We had a bigger party than we anticipated because we had so many friends here at this duty station so we wanted to take advantage of it.
ReplyDeleteI saw the subject for your post and I was like WHAAAAT?! How is this possible?! I can't believe it's already time to start thinking about a first birthday party! It's going to be beautiful. I love all of your ideas so far! We did a pink and gold party for Olivia's first and it was just the sweetest thing!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it's time to plan already! You should for sure put her in a tutu and I really love the monthly pictures. Happy planning! Cherish it!
