Friday Friday Friday!!!

I was a little preoccupied with meetings and kids this morning, so I didn't have time to write up a post.

I will, however, say this:

Happy Friday!!!!!!!

I've been looking forward to Friday ALL week long because MG is back from a work trip, and I get a weekend to relax! What more could a girl want! :)

Since I didn't have time for a post, I'll leave you with these two funnies that I may or may not have created:

I hope those had you laughing!

And on that note, I wish you a happy, FUN-tastic weekend!!

It's OK Thursday

It's Thursday.....thankfully! (Although, admittedly, I'd be ok if it was Friday at this point)

It's been a busy week for sure, but I'm hoping the end of it goes quickly and smoothly!

I'm linking up with Amber for It's OK Thursday today since I missed out last week.
Its Ok Thursdays

It's OK that....

.....as soon as I took my first sip of coffee in the car this morning, it spilled on me. And on my dress. So I spent the next 15 minutes simultaneously trying to navigate traffic and wipe off the coffee spill/stain from my dress.

....I bought a semi decent sized bag of chocolate to stash in my desk at work. Sometimes you need a chocolate fix. And "sometimes" was happening a lot last week and this week, but there was no chocolate to be found. I've remedied that problem :)

....I left the gym and my workout early yesterday because the gym was 9,000 degrees and I felt like I was going to pass out. Why, when it's 85 degrees outside is the heat on in the gym?? I'm all for sweating, but I don't think it counts when you just walk into a room and it starts.

....I'm not only anticipating this upcoming weekend, but I'm really looking forward to the 3-day weekend that's coming up NEXT weekend. A trip to Minnesota, meeting one of MG's best friends (and his wife and kids), and going to a Vikings game with VIP seating? And an extra day off of work?? Yes please!

.....I called a tech support number at work (as per the online instructions) and left a message. The lady called me back to tell me to email her. And that she supports "over 800 people." Ok....so why does it say online to call you? And why did you call me back to tell me to email you when I could have just TOLD you, at that point, what my issue was? Jerkface.

....I wish my job had less meetings so that I could work with my kids more. I feel so bogged down by paperwork and procedures (with more paperwork) and I miss doing the part of my job that I love--actually working WITH my kids!

And, on that note, I'm off to get to work with those kiddos I adore!

Have a great Thursday!!

WILW and Oh How Pinteresting

It's Wednesday! Wait.....it's only Wednesday???? I guess that'll happen when you sit in meetings for the entire work day, then travel 30 miles for another meeting that gets you stuck in traffic for an hour and a half. And then you find that the meeting you drove all that way for was totally pointless. And then you get home at 8pm.

It feels like it should be Friday. Wah!
So, what better way to reflect on the GOOD things....since right now it's easier to focus on the negative ones! So I'm linking up with Jamie and Michelle:

I'm loving that next weekend is a 3 day weekend. Having that in sight is like gold!

I'm loving the season finale of Real Housewives of NJ. I can not wait for the reunion on that one!!!

I'm loving MG's and my friend for coming by and walking Cooper when I had my late meeting yesterday. Poor guy shouldn't have to wait 14 hours to go out and she made sure that he didn't have to.

I'm loving that I get to see one of my favorite kiddos today. Nothing like a sweet kid to brighten your day!

And, as always I'm loving Pinterest!!

This week I've been pinning....

Hello, Fall! Welcome to my closet--hop right on in there!
Some days that's the only exercise you can muster!

Spinach and Artichoke Chicken Casserole  I want to make this sooooo badly!

Gaaaah! So flippin' cute!!

It's the best part!!
Amen.

What are YOU pinning over there?

Catch ya tomorrow. When it's only Thursday. Whyyyyyyy?!

Tuesday Randoms

I have a few random things running through my head today so I figured why not just dump them all in one place and either entertain you, or totally confuse you! :)

{1}
Have you ever seen a picture of your ex or a person you dated with someone new and the first thing you thought was, "Wow, I feel sorry for her because I know what she's in for"? I've thought it a few times myself in relation to some of the people I've dated. And now that I'm thinking about it, I wonder if ex's of those guys ever thought that when they saw me in pics with those dudes.....

{2}
Why isn't pizza better for you? You've got your dairy with the cheese (mmm, cheese!), crust (grain), some meat (if you like, and I do) and some veggies. To me, it seems like this would make the food pyramid happy with its nice balance!

{3}
Why isn't every weekend a 3-day weekend? Whichever presidential candidate can make THAT happen will get my vote!

{4}
It took everything in me not to bust out laughing yesterday when I went to get one of my Kindergarten students and the first thing she tells me is that her dad did her hair this morning and that she doesn't like it when daddy does her hair cuz he misses a lot of pieces and ends up using a lot of barrettes in it.
Funny addition to this story: I told her teacher about it as I dropped the girl off for lunch (and of course she laughed). Apparently the story prompted the teacher to check the girl's lunchbox and it's a good thing she did because instead of the girl's normally plentiful lunch, a single snack bag of popcorn was there. Dads...gotta love em! :)

{5}
My dog Cooper is such a tolerant dog. I stumbled upon these pics that I'd forgotten about from the last time MG and I went up to see his family. His nieces decided to play dress-up with Cooper, who tolerated it quite well:
There may have been a few other outfits where a Buzz Lightyear costume and a Build a Bear skirt were involved. Such a good-natured, tolerant pup I have :)

{6}
I hate driving next to buses and trucks. Especially when the truck is carrying port-a-potties. The scenarios that run through my mind of what could happen...well, let's just say they're pretty sh*tty ;)

How was that for random??? :)
Happy Tuesday!

Super Fun Weekend and "The Master" movie Review

Happy Monday! I'm coming off of a fun-filled weekend, so it's a little difficult to get back into the swing of things this morning.

Friday night MG and I went down to the Georgetown Waterfront to meet up with some friends for drinks and enjoy the weather. We couldn't have asked for a better night! It was fun to catch up, people watch, and dream about what it would be like to own one of the yachts that were docked nearby.

Saturday MG and I ran some quick errands at Bed Bath and DSW where I came across a pair of shoes that I was super stoked to find in the clearance section. Which meant that I got these pretties for $27:
I've been looking for something like these because I need a good neutral dressy shoe in general, but also to wear with a navy blue dress to an upcoming wedding that I have. Couldn't have been happier with my find!

After errands we were just planning to quickly grab a bite to eat when we stumbled upon Clarendon Day, which is basically a huge outdoor block party/street festival with yummy food, beer/wine, vendors, live music etc. The weather was absolutely perfect so we decided to check out the scene, and while we were there, ran into some of our friends. We spent the day wandering around, and I found this great little jewelry stand and couldn't resist buying this gem:
For $25! It's so perfect and SO up my alley.

I was also eyeing up a pair of earrings and MG was being his super sweet self and decided to purchase them for me:
Don't mind my no make-up face...
I'm excited to wear it all! It was definitely a great day for me in the fashion department :)

After wandering around the outdoor stuff, we all decided to hit up the restaurant Cava Mezze to grab some food and a beverage while checking out their outside patio. This was my 4th time being there (the first time was on MG's and my first date) and the food has always been fabulous! (MG and I joke that the first time we were there the food wasn't as good but it was probably because we were both a little nervous having just met for the first time.) Good company with lots of laughing made it a great day all around.
After a while some rain clouds were rolling in so we all headed our separate ways. MG had been wanting to see the movie The Master and since it had gotten great reviews, we went to check it out.
Let me save you some time. Don't go! It was 2 hours and 15 minutes of wasted time and the weirdest, most confusing, and frustrating movie. The only thing that kept us from leaving in the middle was thinking that at some point it would all make sense. It didn't.

Joaquin Phoenix does a great job of playing a screwed up guy. Phillip Seymour Hoffman does a good job of playing the role of a "cult" leader. And Amy Adams is a great cult leaders' wife. The acting was good. The movie was horrid.

I should have taken it as a sign when a chick who was trying to get to the seat next to me scooted past me in the row and stepped on my toes. She even chipped my toenail polish. It was downhill from there.

Apparently the movie's supposed to be about Scientology. But if you didn't know that going into the movie, you would never get it on your own. And I'm still not sure I get it even knowing it after the fact.

I may have turned to MG half way through and uttered something along the lines of "I'm going to make you watch the girliest chick flick ever for this..." hehe.

As soon as the screen went to black at the end, MG and I popped up, bolted for the doors, and the first words that came out of my mouth were, "That was the worst movie I've ever seen. Awful." I have absolutely NO idea how this movie has gotten good reviews. It was painful to sit through. Even without the chick stomping on my toes.

The funniest part of the whole experience was that as we were driving home, still reeling over how terrible the movie was to one another, the couple that had been sitting in front of us pulled up next to our car and started sharing our feelings about how terrible the movie was. The woman said she enjoyed my comment at the end. I aim to please :)

Read some of the other reviews if you're interested, but I would NOT recommend this movie, at all.

Sunday was low key. Watched my Skins suck it up on the football field, again. Angry. And now, it's back to the real world!
Head over to Meg's blog and link up for Mingle Monday!

Friday Letters!

Happy Friday!!! It's finally here!!!

Today I decided to participate for the first time in Friday's Letters, so here goes!

Dear Teaching License, you are a pain to get renewed. Thank goodness I was able to meet all of the requirements in 3 years since I was gone for the last 2 (but am still held accountable for that time I was out of the state).
Dear technology standard, you were incredibly annoying to accomplish for the teaching license and I'm glad I'm done with you.
Dear MG, I cant wait for you to get back home from yet another work trip. And I will be happy when they're over for a while.
Dear sangria, you were a delightful treat last night, but you were a pain in my head this morning.
Dear Sleep Cycle, stop waking me up in the middle of the night so I can worry about stuff at work. Not cool.
Dear new school, I'm so glad I found you!
Dear old school, I'm SOOOOO glad I left you!
Dear dumb drivers, stop being dumb.
Dear Friday, I'm so glad you finally got here. I was beginning to wonder if you were just a figment of my imagination but I'm glad that you're real and well! Only a few more hours until I can REALLY enjoy all the awesomeness that you have to offer!

Happy weekend!

TV Talk

I've been missing a little this week and I promised you yesterday I'd be back with a real post, so here I am!! And what am I talking about? One of my favorite things ever....
REALITY TV!!!!
Here are my thoughts on some of the shows I've been watching lately--

Real Housewives:
New York:
-Aviva needs to get over herself. It seems like the only thing she can talk about is how she didn't get welcomed to St. Barth's with a huge party and a parade. Get over it--you're in St. Barth's! Stop whining, go out and enjoy the place you struggled so hard to get to. I don't feel sorry for you. At all.
-Ramona is still crazy. And she's a close-talker. Personal space, please!
-LuAnne needs to keep her legs closed, especially when you're being video taped for a tv show. Probably not the best time to cheat on your boyfriend who you're trying to get pregnant with. That's a K. Stewart rookie mistake.

Miami:
Like I said last week, I'm giving this season and the new-ish cast a chance before I stop watching, but I can't help but shudder (and yet I can't take my eyes away) every time Elsa is on screen!
MG's face said it all when he walked in from the gym the other day when I was watching it and she was on. The look on his face was pretty priceless.
This makes me second guess any time I have ever even contemplated getting plastic surgery. Yikes!

New Jersey
-Oh em geeeee I can't wait for the finale this Sunday!!!
-That guy who claims to "know" Melissa is a total creeper. Ew.
-Kim D is a wannabe and a pot-stirrer. Dislike.

Bachelor Pad
Holy Hades, I did NOT see it coming that Nick would take the money! I had heard in spoilers that whiny baby Chris and Sarah had won the money, so I was glad to see that that was false. But, I felt really bad for Rachel for losing Michael's interests (something fishy was up with that whole thing, Stagliano) AND for getting duped out of the money. Definitely a dramatic finale!

Speaking of Bachelor, did you guys hear the rumors that Emily Maynard cheated of Jef? And now there are reports that he's cheating on her??? I was actually excited for them. Now I'm sad that they might be just another reality couple flop. Boo!

Teen Mom
The first group of teen moms is over. Im a little sad to "leave" Maci and Tyler/Catelynn but I'm 100% over Farrah and Amber. Amber needs to get herself together, and Farrah needs to grow up and stop being such a spoiled brat. Nothing has changed with those two over the seasons which is sad. I was glad to hear that Maci and Kyle are, in fact, back together. Not sure if it's totally true, but I hope that they are.

Keeping Up With the Kardashians
-I really like Khloe (and her and Lamar together are adorable). I feel for her going through her fertility problems. Hoping things work out for her.
-Bruce Jenner must be a saint.
-Kourtney is a baller for pulling out BOTH of her kids when she's given birth. Bad. Ass.

And, after that long list, I should probably go do something productive with my life since it's obvious I spend WAY too much time in front of the tv. I can't help it tho--it's my guilty pleasure and I could think of FAR worse things to be occupied with.

Only one more day til the weekend!!

WILW and Oh How Pinteresting

I've been a little M.I.A. this week--work has been a little hectic so I didn't have a ton of time to post. I'll be back tomorrow with an original post, so make sure you come back!
In the meantime, I'm linking up with Jamie and Michelle for 2 of my fave link-ups of the week!

I'm loving the people I work with. I went to a housewarming this weekend and everyone was so friendly. It's been nice hanging out with people outside of work and feeling like a part of the team when I'm at work!

I'm loving back massagers when you can't get a real massage. MG and I have this amazeballs lower back massager from Brookstone. Even tho it's only for the lower back, that bad boy works well all over my back. After a stressful day sitting at a desk in an uncomfortable chair, it helps hit the spot and grind out some of my knots.

I'm loving that I figured out my "fat feeling" problem last week with the coffee creamer. I've been using milk and Splenda more often and the bloaty gross feeling has dissipated. Woop!

I'm loving that I was able to get a deal on my XM radio renewal. I hate how those buttheads auto-renew and charge you a ton. I called and told them I didn't like what they charged me so I got it for over 50% off. Love me a deal!

And, as always, I'm loving all of the fun stuff I find on Pinterest (and believe me, there's a ton!!)

This week I've been pinning....

Sooooo true!

Love it with a different long sleeve!

Given the monsoon storms we had yesterday, this would look stupid, but come in handy!

SO many times!!!

Beer battered asparagus with lemon herb dipping sauce
I could see doing this with string beans too! MMMM

I had NO idea!!

Friday Confessions

Oh Em Geeeeee people, I'm SO flippin' excited that it's Friday!!!!
Which means that it's time for some confessin'!

I confess that....

....I'm pretty tired from our Back to School Night last night. It seems like just 12 hours ago that I was leaving this place. Oh...wait...it WAS 12 hours ago. I only had two parents come by to meet me, so it hardly seemed worthwhile to be here an extra 4.5-5 hours yesterday. I am glad I got to meet the parents that I did, and that I was able to get home before it was time for me to be in bed (but not by much!)

My precious!!! :)

....when I got home last night, my Coach purse was waiting for me! And, I may or may not have ripped open the box and immediately slung it over my shoulder and pranced around the apartment for ten minutes a little bit with it on. Don't judge me.
....despite swearing I wasn't going to do it, I started watching Real Housewives of Miami last night. Given, I fell asleep about 10 minutes in, but it's on DVR and I plan to watch it. I'll reserve judgment for a couple of episodes, but if it's anything like last season, I'll be bored within 3.

.....while hitting the 'record' button for Real Housewives of Miami, I secretly grinned knowing that MG will roll his eyes (and be tortured) whenever I decide to watch it. I'm still determined to get him into my reality shows tho!!!

....it is taking some willpower to resist going to the Teachers Lounge to enjoy  Krispy Kreme donuts courtesy of my principals thanking us for last night. "I don't need it, I don't need it, I don't need it" is my mantra. "But I want it, but I want it, but I want it" is the devil on my shoulder....

....I hope my Skins do well this weekend!! *Fingers Crossed*

....I'm glad it's the weekend. I need some R&R like whoa!

Hope you have a great Friday and an awesome weekend! Catch ya on the flipside!

It's OK....

Linking up with Amber for It's OK Thursday...

Its Ok Thursdays

Today it's OK that...

....you can tell when it's approaching lunchtime if you're on Pinterest, because all of my Pins seem to be food items!
Case and point, I pinned all of these within about 5 minutes around 11:30am...
...all while my mouth watered.

....I want to fast forward through the long day that is today because I have Back to School Night tonight and won't get home til almost 9pm. So not ok when I leave my house at 7:30am #tiredgirlproblems

.....I think coffee creamer is making me fat. I rarely used the flavored kind last year when I drank coffee, and so far this school year I have, and I'm noticing I feel more bloaty and gross. I've been working out like normal--the only difference is that dang coffee creamer. Hmmm...

....since summer vacation's been over, I've found very little time to read. Hopefully I'll get back into it soon once the start of the school year calms down.

....after seeing all that the iPhone5 has to offer, I want one. Badly! Come on, October upgrade!!

....I love working with littles again. Yesterday I was in a Kindergarten class where they were trying to look for color words on their paper. The girl I was working with exclaims excitedly, "Ooooh! I found the word that starts with brown!!" Love the little brains at work and the cuteness!

....I love having total control of the remote when the boyfriend is away for work. Reality tv 24/7? Don't mind if I do!!

What's OK with you today?
