First Day of School!

Today brings with it some nervousness and a lot of excitement. Why? It's the first day of school!

In just a few minutes, the kiddos will be swarming (and possibly stampeding) in, with those exact same feelings. A little bit of nerves (hopefully only a little anyway) and a lot of excitement!

All will be fresh off of a long summer break, and ready to get those minds exercised.

Every teacher probably knows this, but we all have two "new year" events. The regular one we all celebrate on January 1st, and the first day of school. I think that all teachers feel like the start of the new school year comes with endless possibilities. You're renewed with a summer off (where you can forget the stresses of the past year), and invigorated with that energy to make a difference. That's why we do this--it's certainly not for the money. Sure, the summers off are nice, but when you work in a school setting, you're doing it to make a difference and impact someone, or a lot of someones! :) 

So, for all of the teachers out there, whether today is your first day of school or not, I wish you the best of luck in this school year. I hope all of your aspirations for yourselves, and your students, come to fruition! And just remember, when the times get rough, you get stressed out and overburdened with paperwork and testing etc. that you're making a difference in someone's life each and every moment of that school day.
