Traveling Wears Me Out (weekend recap)

This weekend MG and I went up to Philly to visit his family, and to celebrate my little Nugget's 7th birthday. We were looking forward to seeing everyone, but let me tell you, after being gone the past two weekends (when we were on vacation), and then going out of town again the next weekend, it's exhausting!
Not to mention, my allergies totally hit this weekend, and so I'm back with a stuffy/runny nose, itchy eyes, etc. Allegra doesn't seem to be helping me out a ton yet either. Wah!

Anyway, Friday MG and I tolerated a ton of traffic to make it to PA. We went out to dinner with his parents, and MG's older sister and brother in law met up with us and two of their kiddos (one of them was my nugget). She had a Father Daughter dance that night, so she showed up to the pizza place in this cute white lace dress, and pearls. Pearls, people! So super cute...but she really needs to stop growing up!
Everyone headed back to MG's parents' house and we all hung out, caught up, and watched some tv.

The next day was all of the kids' games (lacrosse, soccer, baseball....you name it!) so we sat outside adnd enjoyed the weather:

and then we took the little Nugget shopping for her birthday gift. We took her to the outlets, and apparently everyone and their mother decided it was a nice day to go to the outlets, too, since it was PACKED.
Nugget and I got semi-matching pairs of sunglasses, and we picked out a pair for MG's mom, too:
(I also made out with a pair of Puma shoes for $39...woop woop!)
Then we headed to dinner to celebrate little Nugget with the rest of the family (MG's other sister, her husband, and two kids, and everyone from the night before). A table for 13! The food was super yummy and we had a great time, as usual.

We spent the rest of the night at MG's sister's place until we were too tired to stay up any longer and headed back to MG's parents' house. Sunday was little Nugget's track meet.
Now, let me tell you, this was like 200 1st graders running in a track "meet"....it was insanely crowded but it was the cutest thing I've ever seen. I likened it to puppy races....they are just so little, and so excited, and they are SOOOO cute!

Sadly, I didn't get any pictures of that, but my Nugget ran well and we were all proud of her!
And then it was time to say goodbye, and drive the 3 hours back home...and back to reality!

Now it's Monday, and the weather is INSANELY nice. And my allergies are going bonkers haha. Here's hoping this gorgeous weather is a sign of a lovely week!

  2. Hopefully it's finally warming up where you are! It is going to be 80 degrees here in GA today. It's gone from cold to hot now with no in-between! Guess I can't complain, as I've been wishing for warm, sunny weather for weeks. Looks like you guys had a great weekend. Love that you get along so well with MG's family. That's wonderful!!! Make sure you take some time to rest and re-group this week after all of your jet-setting:) Happy Monday, sweet friend!
