Happy July!!!
This weekend was a bit of a blur, but fun. And sadly, it all flew by WAY too quickly cuz today I'm back to work summer school. The next 3 days are going to be work days which will include another day of that horribly boring (and not helpful) training that I had to do before the end of the school year. No bueno!

But, for now, let's recap what a great weekend it was!
Friday we had some insane storms roll through our area. There were mega strong winds, hail, and tree limbs falling. One of which landed INCHES from the front of my car. It was kinda scary!
MG and I decided to go grab dinner out on Friday night, and we caught World Way Z with Brad Pitt afterwards. It was good, but kinda freaky. Not exactly my favorite type of movie, but it was well done. (MG will pay for this with a chick flick. Or something where Channing Tatum's shirt comes off.) hehe
Saturday MG's parents were coming into town to visit. The day before was his dad's birthday, so we had plans to take them to a steak place in the area. Once they got into town, we took them to our venue and church sites. They loved everything about both! Then we all stopped by a restaurant nearby to check it out for our rehearsal dinner. Fingers crossed it works because it's BEAUTIFUL!
After we did our "wedding tour" with them, we dropped them off at their hotel and we all got ready for dinner.
We headed to Rays The Steaks which is a super popular restaurant in the area (the chain that has Ray's Hellburger). The weather on Saturday was gorgeous out, which was a nice change after the storms we'd had the other day!
After having the most amazing meal (steaks, lobster mac and cheese, crab bisque, sauteed mushrooms), we all shared a key lime pie slice with the birthday boy!
We rolled ourselves to the car and back home where we played a rousing game of Super Scrabble. MG's dad kicked all of our butts, like usual, but it was a great time!
Sunday we had brunch with my parents and MG's parents before they headed out of town. The food was yummy and it was nice to have time with both of our parents, all together.
Later in the afternoon, MG and I had a meeting with a potential photographer. She was GREAT! I really loved her vibe, her pictures, everything. It is looking like it's going to be pretty pricey (what isn't when planning a wedding??? ughhh...)--she's not the most expensive person we've see, by far, but I loved her work. She gave me a great vibe, so we MAY have found our photographer! Woop!
And now, I'm at a training and visiting the school that I'm going to be working at this summer. Nothing but fun times over here!!
Happy Monday!

Wow that storm looks serious!! Glad you were all safe!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo fun wedding weekend with the inlaws to be.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finding a photographer for the wedding! Getting things marked off the wedding checklist is always a good thing!! And if you put wedding in front of anything you are selling I feel like you can mark the price up a ton!
ReplyDeleteUgh, training was the worst! I'm working at summer school too (teaching bio), and all the training from the past couple of weeks is finally over. I couldn't be happier. Teaching is definitely the fun part. Good luck with your wedding!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to have found your blog through the Weekend Shenanigans blog hop and I can't wait to follow future adventures! I'm in love with your blog design!
P.S. I just started a blog and joined the cool kids club. I'd love for you to swing by and leave me a comment with some feedback! Thank you so much.

Sounds like a wonderful weekend! Rays the Steaks is SUCH a good choice for a family dinner.
ReplyDeleteYour wedding photographer is so important! And considering it's the photos that will be around for the rest of your life, it's worth getting a good one. Just check references and other brides experiences. But it's all down to the vibe - if you like her and get a good feel, then do it!
ReplyDeleteYAY!!!
